Amazing location and view! clean house, beautiful paintings! In our stay in Costa Rica we visited 5 different rooms/properties in different locations! Los Cielos del Caribe was my favorite and I was very sad when we left! the balcony on the top floor was the best and we were spending our nights there admiring the view! we are definitely going back and I recommend it if you visit Cahuita!

Friendly staff. great location, very close to the National Park, but also just out of main town so it was quiet. plentiful breakfast. Loads of wildlife in the gardens around the hotel - saw monkeys everyday (Howlers and Capuchins) and lots more. The pool is a great place to chill out and enjoy the gardens. The track to the hotel is well lit and perfectly safe. Rooms are good size and showers have plenty of hot water. Rooms had both air-con and fans so easy to regulate temperature.

The location is great. Close enough to the beach you can hear it and there is a close access to Playa Negra which is a great beach. The garden in the hotel is beautiful and the bungalows are well equipped with AC, TV and fridge.

The tour in the park was excellent, the town is laid with things easily found we had good restraunts and ths services were freindly and helpful.
The biggest drawback is the lack of bancos atimatico that works better
The line was long and many people had to repeat the sequence of instructions to get anything yet the hotels asked for cash only. Very frustrating and scary if you didn't bring enough dollars or colony s
The grocey store delived groceries a nd took a credit card. We had such a lai back experience.

Cahuita is a laid back town at the edge of Cahuita National Park. It is seeming in wildlife. You don't even have to enter the park to see the wildlife. We saw huge green iguana, common black hawk, families of capuchin, howler and spider monkeys, green basilisk, agoutis, herons, kingfishers - all outside the park. Inside the park we saw sloths, eyelash vipers, frigate birds and raccoons in addition to the other animals we saw outside. Beaches are pristine and nice to swim in. The neighboring town of Puerto Viego was another laid back village by the sea. A tranquil place to visit!

Cahuita was a friendly small community that showed so much love to us! Conventiently located near a beautiful beach, Playa Negro, and the food was fabulous. Lobster picked straight from the tank to our plate--delicious! Chef Doria at Caribbean Soul Taste was a joy and her food was just as amazing. Stopping at her restaurant is a must if you are in Cahuita. Another must is the Cahuita Nacional Park. We saw groups of monkeys and sloths and even a blue morpho butterfly in the park--and it's free! Would return to Cahuita in a heartbeat!

Cahuita has become crowded with tourists hoping to see the wildlife in the National Park, when you have so many tourists in the park it is difficult to view the animals because they just aren’t there, the wildlife will move deeper into the rainforest to escape the gaze of humans!!

Our hosts were outstanding offering suggestions about local attractions, and local foods. The kitchen and dining facilities were very good. When one of our group had a minor medical issue our hosts arranged a home visit by a local doctor, imagine that!.
Downtown is a pleasant 20 walk away.
We would like to upgrade our rating from a 9 to a 10, please.
amazingly magic place in cahuita to stay a couple of days. nice cabina’s in a jungle garden with loads of flowers, birds, and u can hear and see lots of animals.
Host Fernando is the best. great company, good conversations, makes magic breakfasts and helps with whatever needed inside or outside establishment. He had lots of local knowledge about the culture an nature of this place.
Cahuita and the region itself is sublime. visit the reggea bar on friday night for live music, or any other day for chilling at the oceanside.
Location is perfect. Cahuita is small and the property is close to everything. The El Rincon del Amor restaurant is spectacular. The kitchenette had almost everything I needed for a month long stay. There are two grocery stores nearby. The better of the two is a 5 minute walk.
The National Park is one block away; the beach is one block away. The Mepe terminal is a two minute walk away.
Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. On the other hand, they leave you alone to do your own thing.
Extremely happy with this hostel! Great location close to the bus station and the national park Cahuita (as well as the small village and supermarket) The owners were really nice and helpful! The cleanliness and all the facilities felt like luxury so the relation quality/price was exceptional! Best shared showers and big lockers (with cute paintings - just a detail but still). Also the garden and the kitchen was amazing! I really recommend this place!
The staff (Roberta who’s the owner and Elena) were one of the best. I had a snorkeling incident and they went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable as I was limping. They helped me move to a ground floor room, personally offered to pick up and drop off, and even arranged a last minute private shuttle to SJO at a very short notice. The property is very well located in Cahuita, a small breezy town. Everyone speaks English.
The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We also liked the location of the hotel, because we could reach the playa negra and the playa blanca/national park quickly. There was water, tea and coffee for free all day long.
The breakfast was delivered to the terrace of our hotel room, which was very pleasant.
It was a good place to stay and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I had to leave earlier for an emergency and they didn't make a fuss or anything. Very well handled and the place was clean and comfortable. Everything in Cahuita is in walking distance and it's far quieter to Puerto Viejo, but there's still enough to do.
The pool was amazing! The bed was very comfy and I liked the small terrace, we had dinner and breakfast there, we saw frogs, grasshoppers, hummingbirds and even caterpillars by our room and by the pool, it was beautiful. The gardens were very pretty and it's quite close to downtown Cahuita. The restaurant across the street is delicious.
Johssie was very welcoming and a helpful host who made sure to check that our stay was comfortable and helped if we needed anything. The place is walkable to everything in Cahuita, on the quiet end of town, and very close to Playa Negra. The kitchen had enough cookware to make the basics, and the internet allowed me to work remotely.
The cabinas are in between Cahuita and Playa Negra and a short (and safe but a bit dark, take a torch!) walk from both along a gravelly path. They are very near a really great little breakfast/brunch spot on the beach. The aircon was very necessary in Cahuita. The communal kitchen was a useful and nice addition.
Erina and Matheo created a real paradise! The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished and everything was clean and nice!
They were very helpful and even do a free shuttle to the entrance of the Cahuita national park for their guests. I absolutely can recommend El colibri rojo and would definitely return!
We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are cozy and are centrally located in the town of Cahuita and very close to the national park. Lots of thought went into making the experience enjoyable for guests - helpful recommendations, directions to neighbouring beaches, and a well organized communal kitchen.
Very good location, nearby bus station, Cahuita National Park and supermarket, Garden very quiet and beautiful, animals came visit sometimes, staff super friendly, owner is very kindly , bed is clean and comfortable, kitchen very useful, I was enjoy stay i. Secret Garden 15 nights.
We only stayed for one night but it was a lovely spot in Cahuita. Twin room was a good size for two friends sharing. Pool was small but we had free reign of it and views of the sea. 5min walk from the nature reserve and to nearby restaraunts. Generous breakfast options.
Location was perfect. The bungalow was at the edge of the Cahuita National Park. The wildlife came to you rather than you having to go into the park. We saw tonnes of capachin, howler and spider monkeys on the property. Loved the bungalows. Highly recommended.
The location is great. Close enough to the beach you can hear it and there is a close access to Playa Negra which is a great beach. The garden in the hotel is beautiful and the bungalows are well equipped with AC, TV and fridge.
It was a beautiful hotel, super tidy and clean. the pools were wonderful and the staff, led by Conrad were so inviting! Breakfasts and dinner were excellent.
