It is a room in a house, in a short walking distance to everything you may need, with windows open to a nice garden - you will be woken up by birds in the morning. The owner is wonderfully helpful and friendly, you will enjoy his company and advice (and the company of his cat and dog). The place is clean and very convenient. You will share the bathroom. Staying at this place is a kind of good experience by itself, you will be immersed in local life and bring home good memories. Strongly recommended.

The nature and exploration available from PJ as a takeoff point was amazing. Books tours early, or you may not secure a space, take himing boots and shorts and waterproof raingear just in case, and be prepared to rough it a little.

Anne, at reception, was friendly and welcoming and always addressed me by name, as if she'd known me forever! That impressed me!
I loved the tropical decor, the ambiance and laid back vibe here. Loved meeting other guests in the common areas, from all over the world. Loved having the outdoor kitchen, and BBQ to cook in.

We did a daytrip to Corcovado Nationalpark.
We did a daytrip to Corcovado Nationalpark. The Tour was organized by Osa Wild (a local organisation).
The Guide was very good and we saw lots of exotic animals during the Day. Corcovado and Osa Peninsula are very wild and untamed in relation to some more touristic places in Costa Rica. Puerto Jiménez isn‘t that special, but it‘s a good place to start Tours to Corcovado.

A quiet, unspoilt small harbour town.
A quiet, unspoilt small harbour town. Los Delphines was a great place to eat, chill and watch the wildlife. Watch out for caimans! Jaguar is a lovely little gift shop selling delicious drinks and ice creams. Night kayaking to see the bioluminescence was fantastic.
Incredible view, clean, comfortable, and super helpful and fun staff. We were looking for a good deal for one night, and actually stayed 3 nights as we really loved this hotel. The room was beautiful and well equipped. The grounds were awesome. A great mattress and really great AC! Annie was our host and she went way over the top to help us with local attractions, dining, storing our luggage, and accommodating us when severe weather threw a wrench in our plans
This hotel is a hidden gem and so is Puerto Jiminez!
This location of this hotel is absolutely stunning, set against the backdrop of lush rainforest with views of the bay from your private veranda, Kunken Lodge feels like you're living in a little oasis. The fact that the property boasts a hummingbird garden, frog sanctuary, private beach and occasional spotting of whales and dolphins from the hotel means that this stay is truly unique. Make sure to take advantage of all the activities to make the most of your stay.
the hotel doesn't exist. no sign, no lights outside, dark building, no people, no reception. I was met by a drunk guy he has opened the building for me and offered to wait for the owner inside. I was scared the situation was like a crime scene. I run away.
Booking.com sent me automated message that the charge was made and they won't return the money. Will never use this sammers site again. Will dispute the charge.
don't book this hotel it doesn't exist.
Nice welcome by the reception staff and helpfulness of it during the stay. Good meals prepared and served with kindness by the local staff. Wild beautiful beach in front of the hotel. Peaceful place at day and night. Kindness of the owner Toby and a lot of personal paintings from his wife Lauren. Birds, trees, leaves and sometimes monkeys shouting. If you wish to stay for a while out of the crazy world, it’s a very good quiet spot.
I stayed 3 nights in this fantastic location. The place is simply beautiful and a great place to relax. I was really well looked after by Lorena, Gustavo and Dalila who are all very charming and kind. The food was delicious and lots of it. I hope to go back one day.
It is remote and the road is challenging but that is all part of the adventure. It was the cheapest and best place I stayed during my stay in Costa Rica.
Location, Puerto Jiménez is a very nice quite spot, mangroves, beach, town all within easy walking distance Chosa Manglar was a fabulous place with a private room set back in a mangrove garden, lots of wildlife just outside the door a good communal area and kitchen I extended my stay ii liked it so much. Would definitely recommend to backpackers and budget travellers. Will most certainly be back.
Great place in the center of Puerto Jiménez - steps to the bus stations, restaurants, a supermarket, a bakery, tour offices and banks. The room was exactly as described and featured two comfy chairs on the balcony. The wifi was surprising great - about 90 mb/s dropping lower if a lot of people were using it. The host is an amazing resource for things to do or helpful tips, and is super nice too.
the architecture was gorgeous. they left bits of jungle sprinkled in to keep as much natural landscape as possible and the wood finish is beautiful. best gym I’ve ever seen at a hotel for sure. my room was a full apartment with patio and I really felt like it could be home away from home. I had everything I needed there and the staff was like family.
This hotel was the perfect budget stay in a small town of Puerto Jimenez that is a gateway to Corcovado. It's near the main street where you have a bakery and a coffee shop and it's in the walking distance to the pier.
The facilities and the rooms are new and you can tell that all the ladies that run the place take great pride in their hotel.
Off season prices are low for Costa Rica and what you get - clean room, a/c, private bath, wifi.
The place is super beautiful, large nice communal area with kitchen. Staff is very nice and helpful, they care a lot of the place. They offer tours and tour guides, I would suggesting comparing prices with other places around town :)
Very nice and comfy house, decorated with style and even with a semi-automatic washing machine and dryer, which was a blessing after 3 days in Corcovado. Close to the centre of Puerto Jimenez. Drinking coffee in the balcony was great.
The hotel is located a bit outside of the town, roughly 20 min walk. You can hear the howler monkeys for a wake up call. We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel also offers bicycles for free to get around.
The location is really nice. it is possible to rent kayaks and bikes. the hotel is by the water, so really nice to sit outside. it is possible to leave luggage and car by the hotel when doing a Corcovado tour.
We are traveling to Costa Rica quite often and this resort in the jungle is very unique, animals come to you everywhere, food is perfect, nobody disturbs you there.
