The location was phenomenal. The veranda out side the room had a good view, was sheltered from the sun and a pleasant place to sit. The Hotel is set amongst forest and almost on the beach. The wildlife comes to you. The swimming pool has seen better days but it’s in a very special location and the capuchin monkeys regularly visit to hang out with their family. The beach is totally amazing. Manuel Antonio is only a 10 minute jaunt along the beach. This hotel is an experience in itself. Well worth a visit.

A lovely little place! It looked bigger and more lush in the photos, but the room we stayed in matched the pics exactly: it was spacious, clean, and comfortable with everything we needed. The included breakfast was delicious. Most notably, the host who helped us (I wish I'd gotten her name!) provided fabulous service with a ready smile and lovely sense of humor!

Quepos is a good central location from which to do all manner of activities. I love the farmers market on Friday PM/Saturday AM. Scuba diving is just okay as the visibility even in the dry season is limited. Check out the farm tour at Villa Vanilla (they can pick up from Quepos if you don't have a car) and the bus to Manuel Antonio Park (worth the hype but buy your tickets online before you go) and all the attractions along the way is only 380 colones.

Quepos is a tourist trap, all designed around Manuel Antonio national park. The hard sell is tough bbbuuutt the beauty of the rainforest is amazing. A weekend in this tiny place is easily enough, I would not recommend staying longer.

We stayed outside of Quepos which I would recommend.
We stayed outside of Quepos which I would recommend. Quepos is an authentic town to shop and eat at. We loved walking around to explore and eat. We liked the market for the shopping and the coffee shop! We were able to walk around Quepos very easily and get back to the bus downtown no problem.

The city is not big, quite busy, there are a few restaurants (some crazy expensive) and shops. Manuel Antonio Park, on the other hand, is completely overrated. I haven't seen such a crowded place in all of Costa Rica! I am disappointed and angry that I had to travel such a long way to get to an uninteresting place. I do not recommend!

The last point of our trip.
The last point of our trip. So many great things we have seen. But at the end of this incredible nature, do you have to experience this greed for money along the road to the national park? No! Just keep stopping in this country and be amazed. Quepos is not a MUST.

Quepos is super crowded and to pricy for what it offers!
Quepos is super crowded and to pricy for what it offers! If you want to find some nice place nearby Quepos just have a short ride with a car and go south of Quepos to find some nice and lonely beaches!
On our arrival we first had difficulties in finding the house but as it was said in former reviews the house itsself, the equiment and the nature around is stunning. Problems we had once with the look and once with the electricity were solved by Johan immediately. It was very clean inside and the garden very beautiful. We saw around the house iguanas, hummingbirds, tucans and the three kinds of monkeys in the trees. It was lovely refuge close to the busy city Quepos and we enjoyed our last days of our Costa Rica holidays there very much.
We felt like staying at our friends. It’s a big space with really everything you might need.
Like in all Costa Rica, it is recommended to have a car, but if you like walking, you will mange - we did, our friendly taxi driver was driving us around.
It’s 15 minutes drive to the Manuel Antonio park and 20 minutes walk to great restaurants.
Surrounding area is so beautiful, very well kept garden and different animals.
Great shower, living room, comfy bed, fast WiFi, Netflix
Arboleda is a delightful "old lady of an hotel ... slightly dated, very well priced and the location is fantastic! Beautiful beach front on the quiet side of the beach with loungers and walking distance to the Manuel Antonio National Park. We enjoyed the hospitality of the family run establishment and the charm of yesteryear ! They also make a great Pina Colada!!
Amazing hotel with breathtaking view! It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica, waking up to the view with wild tropical birds. Everyone is so welcoming and hospitable, you feel right like home. Definitely would recommend getting a massage, best deep tissue massage I ever had. I’m planning to come back.
This was off the beaten path and a wonderful place to stay on the central Pacific coast outside of Quepos. Just what we were looking for to experience an authentic piece of Costa Rica. Markus, Tulio and the rest of the crew were fantastic. Beautiful grounds and an amazing place to see wildlife and natural flora.
Breakfast was two choices, but they were both good. Big nice coffee cups!
Two pools was a plus afternoon after beach. Nice, and personal people working at the hotel. Very fresh interiour at the new part and the restaurant.
Loved hot water in the showers!
Very unique place to stay in Quepos. Far from the city but very close to the ocean. Definitely worth the extra distance to enjoy an almost private beach 1min away from the bed. Miguel is a very nice and easy going host. I can only recommend it.
Fantastic location, great bed, strong A/C, and phenomenal staff. Melanie in reception provided that excellent customer service, recommending several beaches and booking a reservation for dinner. Breakfast on the beach was a bonus! Thank you.
Jorge and Pamela are amazing hosts! They were super attentive and kind. We felt right at home and it was a great place to stay with easy access to many things in and around Quepos. A convenient stay with good value and great people!
Great place off the beaten track that is tourist central Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Great hosts and a chance to spend time with the real people who live there. Lovely and simple apartment with everything you need
Mary was an excellent host. Extremely accommodating and very friendly. The views were awesome overlooking the marina and ocean. The property was well maintained and very clean. We would stay again when in Quepos.
We spend a wonderful time in Santa Juana Lodge, the spot is amazing, the Staff great!.
We did the two Santa Juana tours .
The birds watching was private and the best we’have done so far in Costa Rica.
Gorgeous, with some amazing artisan details in wood, shell, and tile. Convince details in the kitchen that surpassed any of the 5 other places we have stayed in while in Costa Rica. Host was engaging.
Williams and Olga were super helpful and friendly. We learnt a lot about Costa Rica, its culture and cuisine (Olga cooks very well!!) We had a lovely time. thank you!!! :)
The view was amazing. It overlooks the marina and you have an excellent sunset view of Quepos. Beautiful. Rey is one of the most accommodating host i have met.
