The location was phenomenal. The veranda out side the room had a good view, was sheltered from the sun and a pleasant place to sit. The Hotel is set amongst forest and almost on the beach. The wildlife comes to you. The swimming pool has seen better days but it’s in a very special location and the capuchin monkeys regularly visit to hang out with their family. The beach is totally amazing. Manuel Antonio is only a 10 minute jaunt along the beach. This hotel is an experience in itself. Well worth a visit.

A lovely little place! It looked bigger and more lush in the photos, but the room we stayed in matched the pics exactly: it was spacious, clean, and comfortable with everything we needed. The included breakfast was delicious. Most notably, the host who helped us (I wish I'd gotten her name!) provided fabulous service with a ready smile and lovely sense of humor!

Quepos is a good central location from which to do all manner of activities. I love the farmers market on Friday PM/Saturday AM. Scuba diving is just okay as the visibility even in the dry season is limited. Check out the farm tour at Villa Vanilla (they can pick up from Quepos if you don't have a car) and the bus to Manuel Antonio Park (worth the hype but buy your tickets online before you go) and all the attractions along the way is only 380 colones.

Quepos is a tourist trap, all designed around Manuel Antonio national park. The hard sell is tough bbbuuutt the beauty of the rainforest is amazing. A weekend in this tiny place is easily enough, I would not recommend staying longer.

We stayed outside of Quepos which I would recommend.
We stayed outside of Quepos which I would recommend. Quepos is an authentic town to shop and eat at. We loved walking around to explore and eat. We liked the market for the shopping and the coffee shop! We were able to walk around Quepos very easily and get back to the bus downtown no problem.

The city is not big, quite busy, there are a few restaurants (some crazy expensive) and shops. Manuel Antonio Park, on the other hand, is completely overrated. I haven't seen such a crowded place in all of Costa Rica! I am disappointed and angry that I had to travel such a long way to get to an uninteresting place. I do not recommend!

The last point of our trip.
The last point of our trip. So many great things we have seen. But at the end of this incredible nature, do you have to experience this greed for money along the road to the national park? No! Just keep stopping in this country and be amazed. Quepos is not a MUST.

Quepos is super crowded and to pricy for what it offers!
Quepos is super crowded and to pricy for what it offers! If you want to find some nice place nearby Quepos just have a short ride with a car and go south of Quepos to find some nice and lonely beaches!
A true gem, hidden in the hills of Quepos, this accommodation has stunning views of the jungle and ocean, especially the sunsets! You can enjoy them from the swimming pool too!
Jan and Ken were amazing, responding very promptly and ensuring we have everything needed, even snorkel equipment and towels.
You get a whole apartment, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms both with showers, lots of space, aircon, terrace with chairs to enjoy the colibries, parrots and stunning views. We loved the dogs too, Marco and Chichi!
After a tiring stay in a hostel, we just wanted a break and rest. And we didn't want a hotel on the route to the national park. Everything overpriced.
The location is wonderful. The rooms are wonderful. The pool of the ressort is a blessing. The cuisine is very good. You should eat there.
But.
It is located on a road where very loud trucks thunder along all night.
It was our end of staying in Costa Rica. It was a good end in this ressort, but....

This was our second stay at this apartment hotel. It is exceptional value in Quepos town. The area and room are very quiet. The kitchen is fully equipped. plus they also have salt an oil available for cooking. They bathroom has a lovely shower with hot water. Bed is very comfortable. The room is cleaned every day. The apartment is a quick walk to Pali, grocery store and also to the bus station. The staff are very kind and helpful. We liked it so much we stayed here twice.
We felt like staying at our friends. It’s a big space with really everything you might need.
Like in all Costa Rica, it is recommended to have a car, but if you like walking, you will mange - we did, our friendly taxi driver was driving us around.
It’s 15 minutes drive to the Manuel Antonio park and 20 minutes walk to great restaurants.
Surrounding area is so beautiful, very well kept garden and different animals.
Great shower, living room, comfy bed, fast WiFi, Netflix
we had a terrific stay in the 4 bunk jungle container. the AC was great, the community kitchen did the job, the jungle beyond the property brought us spider monkeys and all kinds of birds. the host was an allstar too. 20 minutes drive from manuel antonio. we enjoyed quepos as well. nice quite evenings. we had terrific neighbors sharing the space with us and the garden, community kitchen, extra showers, extra bathroom and extra space made for a roomy stay in small quarters
I was one of the first guests at this newly refurbished hotel. Stephan and his team were very helpful at check in with a tour of the beautiful property. The room was large, nicely furnished and clean. The hot tub is spectacular and is a nice community space that allowed me to get to know some of the other guests that weekend. Stephan is a Chef and the breakfast buffet was amazing. He also offered to prepare items that weren't on the buffet upon request.
All was cleaned, spacious Room, Ac in the room and fan. César is a awesome host, also presented us with some fruits that were delicious. Is house is very comfy and 15min car from Manuel Antonio far from the noise. He also do a good intro to the surroundings! Fair value
Besides living in the same home its like you have your own appartment. My girlfriend Said that was the best night that She had in costa rica. She finally could rest properly
My stay at Buena Vista was wonderful. The location is unbeatable - just steps from the beach and a short walk to the national park. My room had a big balcony with a lovely view of the beach. There are beach chairs with umbrellas and towels for guests to use. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. They have servers on the beach so you don't have to stop sunbathing to get food or drinks. Room was nice and comfortable.
Santa Juan Lodge had amazing views from the mountains of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. The lodge provided lots of privacy, tranquility, and peacefulness throughout. Also, the hospitality and staff were exceptional. Not only did they provide great service, but the meals were truly home-cooked Costa Rican cuisine. I would definitely come back here when we revisit the Quepos area.
Arboleda is a delightful "old lady of an hotel ... slightly dated, very well priced and the location is fantastic! Beautiful beach front on the quiet side of the beach with loungers and walking distance to the Manuel Antonio National Park. We enjoyed the hospitality of the family run establishment and the charm of yesteryear ! They also make a great Pina Colada!!
Hotel was full of trees and flowers. Butterflies everywhere. We got to see wild Turcans and Scarlet Macaws right in the hotel property. Rooms were very large... 25x25 or so. Our unit had two rocking chairs and we were able to enjoy the mornings watching the greenery. Hotel also has mini nature walk in the back and it was a treat. Good included breakfast.
Nice spacious room but it was located next to the swimming pool where is loud music on until 10pm so if you need to have a rest or go to sleep earlier that’s not the right place to go. Unfortunately there was no warm water in the bathroom. The hotel is located a 10 minute drive from Quepos. We enjoyed the food - was really tasty.
A really great place. The location is perfect - 5 min from quepos bus station and near everything .
The place is very quiet and safe.
The room was also perfect - very big, clean and with air conditioning.
Also they had hot waters in the shower .
Comfortable, spacious and good air con. Wonderful to have laundry after hiking Camino de Costa Rica for 14 days. Met the owners’ son who manages the property and he was very receptive to our feedback. Highly recommend. good value
Really nice little place in the center of quepos, super clean and really nice big kitchen area. The pool is great and the whole hostel has a good vibe! The staff were also really helpful when we had questions and requests!
It's the best place where I have stayed in Costa Rica. Everything was perfect, I really recommend it! The owners are very nice and helpful. Thats the place run with heart.
Williams and Olga were super helpful and friendly. We learnt a lot about Costa Rica, its culture and cuisine (Olga cooks very well!!) We had a lovely time. thank you!!! :)
The view was amazing. It overlooks the marina and you have an excellent sunset view of Quepos. Beautiful. Rey is one of the most accommodating host i have met.
