We had a nice, large room, everything was very clean. It's a close walk to the pier and restaurants and far enough away to be quiet. The shower is probably our least favourite part. It could use an update as the tiles are little grubby. The water doesn't get extremely hot, but enough. The room has a small fan which we needed and it helped a lot to sleep. Breakfast is excellent, your choice from their restaurant menu of eggs, omlette, pancakes, yogurt and granola. And they have a friendly pet turtle. The staff are very nice.

We loved staying in this town because of the variety of waterfront restaurants and it felt a little less touristy than the other towns. You can easily walk or tuktuk to San Juan and you can easily access a quick boat ride to San Marcos as well.

This town is really just for young backpackers looking to party. You can pop in for a few hours during the day to check it out, but if you don't fit that demographic stay in a different town on the lake.

This place is a riot of colour and full of authentic Guatemalan life. The women in the town were dressed so beautifully, one could just watch them going about their daily lives. The little town is situated right on the lake and there is more than enough to do to keep one busy for a few days. I would highly recommend this place. As a bonus there is a cluster of very good and healthy middle eastern and other restaurants. I would go back for the falafel any day of the week.

When you go to SP it's not just SP.
When you go to SP it's not just SP. Boat rides to towns like San Juan, San Marcus, Panajachel, etc. are right there! Colorful, full of culture, markets, education and experience. SP is a great place to base yourself in; especially if you are Jewish/kosher. It's near chabad, 2 kosher restaurants and the docks to take you to all the other villages/towns.

It should be a five quetzal to get anywhere in the main area of San Pedro in Tuk Tuk. If you go to the El Mirador have the tuk tuk to wait for you or it can be hard getting one back to town. The 5B ATM machines charge large fees so try to get money before you go here. For cheap food go to either of the Tacomexs. A lot of locals wash their clothes in the lake so if you want to swim go to San Marcos.

San Pedro is full of night life and back packers.
San Pedro is full of night life and back packers. It is very safe and it is easy to access most other parts of Lake Atitlan. Be prepared with cash as many places do not accept credit cards, and if they do they add a large fee. My only major criticism is it is so touristy that they do not have much local Guatemalan food!! The food is not great in the city.

This hotel is great. The views were amazing and it has direct access to the lake if you want to go for a swim. All of the staff were very friendly and provided assistance with anything we needed. The property was very clean and the rooms were as advertised. The breakfast buffet was good as well. It is the best hotel to stay in San Pedro in a quiet area with a 5 minute walk to the tourist areas or where the locals live. San Pedro is the best area to stay if you are visiting Lake Atitlan for a few nights.
Hands down one of the nicest hostels I have stayed at. The two people that I met at reception were very friendly, welcoming, and flexible when I arrived. I stayed in a female dorm and the room, as well as my bed were very comfortable. Everyone had enough space for their stuff and we were not crammed which was nice. The hostel has a very nice roof facing the lake and also a selection of beers. 10/10 would recommend.
We spent 4 nights at Casa Lobo (jungle Room). We really appreciated the location out of the hustle and bustle from San Pedro. There is a fantastic coffee place 100m away from the hotel which is ideal for having breakfast before a morning of sunbathing near the house pool. The bedding was excellent. The landlord is very kind and accessible. Easy self check-in...
The view of the lake was great, they have an access to the lake too just beneath the hotel. Location wise it's great to get to some nice local restaurants and the shops are very nice too. The room was comfortable and they had hot water, which is supposedly quite rare in some places in Guatemala. We had access to drinking water too which was great!
The view from my room on the top floor was amazing (though those on lower floors have partially blocked views of the lake by the hotel across the street with the same name). I loved the hammock outside the room. Owners are very sweet and had a room for luggage storage after check out. I would definitely come back!
This is a basic hotel that has a million dollar view. For the very low price, it was a great choice. Nice staff. If you just want a clean room not a very economical price, this is fantastic choice. The location is perfect. Be sure to get up and see the sunrise over the water.
The hotel is owned by a family of locals, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to go for a hike and proposed to prepare sandwiches for us which was very nice 👍 they went the extra mile to make sure we had a good stay. They also have a nice little patio.
The hotel was clean, breakfast was amazing, and owners are really friendly.
We took the advantage of hotel’s proximity to spanish school (literally next doors) and it was amazing. Hotel is 15min walk to the center, which was resulted in really calm nights
I didn't eat at Zoola but the vibes of the restaurant area and the food looked really good. It was nice to have a bar and pool as well. On the lake as well. If you're trying to find somewhere cheap to stay and party, this is probably the place for you.
Hotel is a little out of the way which means it's a bit of a trek from the boat dock but there's hardly any street noise and there is a spectacular terrace with probably the best view of the lake in town. Onsite Restaurant is also pretty good.
We stayed here for 8 days. The hotel is run by a very kind and helpful family.
Very comfortable bedrooms with TV and Netflix.
Small kitchen available for making simple meals.
Great views from the balcony with hammocks.
The hotel was great, the rooms were very big. The hotel is fairly close to the lake through some narrow streets. We did a sunrise tour and leaving and coming back was no problem at all.
