Very comfortable apartment and loved that it was on the beach. Beautiful views and very quiet. We had a 2BR unit that had a well stocked kitchen. The management was quite gracious and provided great dining and shopping suggestions. They also arranged for a masseuse to come to our unit. My husband said it was about the best massage he’s ever had.

Our extended family rented a 3 bedroom villa and 1 bedroom suite. The accommodations were great with plenty of room. It was a small resort so not far between our units and close to restaurant and pool. The grounds were well maintained, food was good. Nice to have bikes we could use to ride into the village.

The location near the town and within a minutes walk from the beach were great. The room was brightly decorated and had basic essentials including a toaster, microwave, and a few pieces of crockery and cutlery. Beds were also super comfy and the courtyard a lovely space.

Nice guest house in a great area of Hopkins with several restaurants in the neighborhood (try the Indian next door!!!).
The public area around the pool and the pool itself need some face lifting.
In general the property has great potential, just needs some maintenance & design efforts & investment

Hopkins is a linear village maybe 7 miles long paralleling the sea. There are some high end resorts but local guest rooms predominate. Residents never failed to assist us in finding taxis, food stores or support services. The food was excellent whether it was consumed in a resturant, local bar or kitchen hut. Bicycles are very helpful in getting around. We found a really nice mix of folks. Don't miss the Garifuna music and food.

Hopkins is a small, rural town - one paved road that goes the length of the town plus a few unpaved roads. So, if you are looking for a small beach town with very friendly people, Hopkins may be for you. There is a good grocery store and several good dining options. Hopkins was a great home base for us for a few days as we explored a couple national parks in the area.

Peaceful, out of the way.
Peaceful, out of the way. Needed to rent a golf cart for greater variety of dining and grocery shopping but that is what our family likes. Very low key place. People are very kind and friendly. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach.

Hopkins Bay Smoky Bar & Grill (Barbara and Richard) were super kind! Maxim's gave us great deals too. Ella's and Driftwood were popular spots. Nice Cream was delicious. Rhum Shack at the resort were delicious. We could walk everywhere! We rented a car to get from BZE to Hopkins, which helped a lot so we could travel to other places.
Loot at Erik and Luis' Maayan Ruin/Cave Tubing on Viator (1:30 hour drive). I suggest Seahorse Dive Shop about 1:20 hours away for scuba diving/snorkeling, too.

The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable.
The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. We always looked forward to the fresh catch of the day for dinner, especially the lobster Thermidor. My wife and I liked the closeness to the beach and pool and the size of the complex which was only 19 three unit buildings, and the ratio or staff to guests. We went on two excursions, one to the Mayan ruins and one horseback riding in the rain forest. Both were well worth the trip.

Too expensive with very little to offer.
Too expensive with very little to offer. This is good for people who plan to just chill and not do much. Go south (closer to the Jaguar Reef area) for better waters and restaurants, but be prepared to spend lots
Clean, comfortable, well equipped, hot shower, spacious bedroom (Room 1). Our host Christie could not have been more attentive, and on the occasion that she was off duty, the housekeeper lady was very helpful. Local Mayan cocoa farm Che'il (where Prince William and Kate visited) accessible by local bus - highly recommended. Enjoyed Thongs Cafe on seafront. Cycled to Rhum Bar at Hopkins Bay Resort (north) and enjoyed drinks/eats at reasonable prices. Super bakery - bright pink door, on the way out of town south.
Wonderful, kind staff. Room was great—clean with nice amenities. Hot water wasn’t working in my room, so they upgraded me for free to an Ocean Front suite. Great spot on the beach—lounge chairs and hammocks to relax under palm trees. A great restaurant on site with a few good restaurants in walking distance—or can borrow a free bike into the village (~15 min). Pool was a clean and a great temperature. Enjoyed everything about my stay!
Funky Dodo is an institution itself, THE backpacker stay in the Stann Creek District. It‘s in the very centre of Hopkins, near everything you need: restaurants, bars, beach, bus stop, ATM (that surprisingly worked the day we were there!). They have a small number of simple, but well kept. and equipped private rooms additional to their dorms, who group around an open kitchen and lounge area, which was always filled with life.
This inn was fantastic. Our cabana was right on the sand and the beautiful, quiet, well-maintained private beach. Angel was extremely helpful and offered us lots of guidance, advice, recommendations, etc., and his brother was helpful too. We loved the ability to rent bikes onsite, use their boogie boards and floaties, etc. Highly recommend it!
we can’t give this place enough stars! it was absolutely amazing and they made our time there wonderful! the staff is so friendly and they get to know you and want to know you. the massages we got were the best we ever had! everything about this please is phenomenal! they take great pride in their resort and the workers there are amazing!
Excellent place to stay, right on the beach. Hot water for showers, nice pool open 24/7, delicious complimentary breakfast, small fridge in our room, A/C, kayak use included with booking, friendly staff. The water was warm (we went in May) and fairly clear. We really enjoyed our time at Parrot Cove Lodge and would recommend the place.
The hotel is in a nice area to experience Hopkins and has nice beach villas that are spacious with comfortable beds. The staff and Rob (the tour guide) were super helpful, always tried to make the best out of our stay and were really caring. The bikes that you can use for free at the hotel are a bonus to experience Hopkins.
The rooms are spacious and come with a coffee maker and coffee. There is a covered outside area that has plenty of seating. Location is close to the beach and a few restaurants. Café that is a few doors down has the best baked goods. Peggy is super lovely to deal with and even helped get us a shuttle.
Comfortable, clean and simple room. Outdoor gas burner, with a decent selection of cookware. Close to anything you might want in Hopkins. Host is on site and can advise you on pretty much anything you might want to do while staying in Hopkins. Bikes to use make getting around town a breeze.
Staff were fantastic and really aimed to be helpful! And waking up right next to the trails was a fantastic way to beat the heat. Also, this area is fairly isolated, I had the waterfalls all to myself until about noon! Hotel restaurant was excellent, albeit quite pricey.
Great location. Near everything in the village. Nice garden. Spacious room with 3 beds. Just be advised that these are very standard accommodations. There are no bells and whistles, but it has everything you need, and near everywhere you wanna be.
This place was great! across the street from the ocean, walking distance to many excellent bars and restaurants, it was clean and very quiet despite being very centrally located in Hopkins.
