This was such a lovely and spacious property for my family. Any and all facilities were within easy reach, and that meant more time watching the flamingos. Francois, the host, was very hospitable and at our service. Thank you so much for making our vacation pleasant and memorable!
Equipped with a coffee machine and grounds, a heater in the living room and electric blankets in the bedrooms, the host really took care of everything.

The kindness of people is exceptional.
The kindness of people is exceptional. There are a lot of different activities. It is safe (apparently some pick pockets at the harbour because of Cruises stopping). Yango app is working very well a substitute of Uber. Food and restaurants are very good (example are Anchors, Godenfang, but all the restaurants at the harbours are very good). Price quality exceptional. Sam Barnard of the tennis club is very nice. Very nice for Kite surfing at the Lagoon and Donkey beach very good for surfing. Very clean, very comfortable. The nature is amazing. No traffic, no stress, but you have all the possible comforts

Fantastic place with many tourist attraction sites including the highest peak point of the sand dunes, Atlantic Ocean on one end with bringing cold stream from Benguela currents and on the other a taste of the semi-desert hot air.

I am from Hermanus, South Africa.
I am from Hermanus, South Africa. This was my first time in Walvis Bay. I was immensely impressed and content with Walvis Bay, its people, environs, environment, and so much more.
There are nice second-hand stores and thrift stores to purchase local clothing and tourist items at a lower price.
Shopping is great.
The walks are wonderful.
It is not hot as one would expect from Namibia.
The flora and fauna are beautiful.
Do not forget to eat at Godenfang - the most wonderful and fresh food ever.
We did not have an automobile. It was easy to hale a taxi on any street to take us anywhere - even to Swakopmund, which is 30 minutes to the North.
Go and have an adventure.

I do not know about restaurants to visit in Walvis Bay, as well as the activities to do besides the boat rides. So I basically dinned at the hotel I was booked in. I also do not find it easy to get around Walvis Bay so I avoided the hassle of getting lost and enjoyed the facilities at the hotel.

The hotel was perfectly situated, between the town and lagoon. And this made long or short walks perfect. The area is peaceful and gives you a sense of security, as well as the friendly and helpful residents and staff. The harbour is close with beautiful scenery and excellent restaurants.

Its always great to be at the coast, perfect weather with lots of activities- climbing dune 7, boat rides, camel rides and lots of fun too at the beach with shopping of course at the new mall. I always go for seafood when I'm that side. It is indeed very easy to navigate Walvis Bay because everything is sign posted clearly.
The host is absolutely fantastic and very welcoming. The house is huge with nice lounges, a beautiful indoor swimming pool and bar, a big garden with fire place and big clean rooms and bathrooms. If you feel cramped in this place, you must live in a palace. They also have a secure parking (you get a remote to open the door) so you don't have to park in the street.
The house is in a very good neighbourhood but a bit away from the 'center'. Although I haven't seen a real center in Walvis Bay.
We spent 2 nights in Walvis bay overnighting in lovely Amjicaja guesthouse. We had continental breakfasts including a big variety of choices, what to eat. The stuff let us even cook our own finnish coffee for us. The back yard was big and a lot of bird were seen flying or jumping. Rooms were big and clean, we even got one extra room just for free, because it was not the high season. The manager gave us a good hint, where to have a lunch or a dinner, - what dinners were had in the Anchors
My room had an attached garage (great for those who are self driving Namibia!), I’m not sure if every room has it but it helped me ensure my stuff was safe! The owner and his girlfriend were extremely friendly and helpful and lived on the property to provide recommendations or in case anything went wrong. The bed was really comfy, the shower was hot, and there was Netflix in my room which helps provide some extra relaxation in the middle of a trip. I really enjoyed my stay :)
A sign on the building says "more legend than hotel" and I tend to agree: this is an absolutely amazing place to stay. It really has everything: beautiful, comfortable and spotless rooms, a pleasant garden, great breakfast, super-friendly service, secure parking, fast wifi. All this comes at really reasonable rates and a quiet location that is just 2 blocks away from the sea and within walking distance of the incredibly good Anchors restaurant.
Wonderful location on the front. Very friendly helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable. A delicious breakfast included was a welcome addition. A good laundry service which was reasonably priced.Walking distance to many excellent restaurants and sights. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to stay in when in Walvis bay.
The hotel was decorated really nice with love for details. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.
The lady from the reception was super nice and welcoming. check-in went smoothly.
Breakfast was like most of the places in Namibia, Basic but good.
Security guard to look for the hotel and parking from sunset to sunrise.
The self catering unit was beautiful and unique with its own architectural style. It was very convenient to be able to walk into the unit straight form the garage. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were super comfortable. A bonus was that the lagoon was withing walking distance. This was a perfect stay for a weekend.
This appartment is very well located in Walvis Bay, in walking distance to the Waterfront. It is huge with 2 sleeping rooms with nice view to the lagoon, kitchen, living room and a garage. The check-in was good, good explanation on alarm, a table was booked for us in a restaurant. Welcome drinks available.
Vicky was super friendly and accommodating. She even agreed to take us to the airport at the end of our stay because her usual driver and backup were out of town. The room was perfect for our needs. There were thousands of flamingos in the lagoon and several other shorebirds. We enjoyed our stay here.
The service was excellent, the rooms were spacious and the breakfast was out of this world. This is Honestly the best hotel I have ever been to. I will definitely come back in the near future. If you ever want to come to Walvis bay, The Penthouse is the perfect place for you.
It’s very clean comfortable modern hotel with excellent design and wonderful view. Staff is friendly. Because of the restaurant was full, we ordered lunch in the bar, there was excellent service, delicious steak and seafood. Definitely, we’ll come back
The b&b is definitely underestimated. I liked everything. Sonia was extremely helpful, accommodation is nice and comfortable. You feel safe and have a 5 stars service. I liked my trip to Namibia and it was a right choice to stay at Haus Schaaf b&b.
Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Miriam in particular. Very comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Right in front of the hotel, one can enjoy the 'pink flamingos show' , especially at sunset.
I booked in your hotel and I was successful and was given a code then you cancelled my booking with a text that is fully booked after I have travelled all the way. Bad service
I liked that I had my own privacy, no noise pollution and it is close to the lagoon. The bedroom was phenomenal. Everyone is super friendly, made me feel at home.
Walvis Bay Backpackers & Self-Catering was like home away from home. Everything was likeable, beautiful, clean, cozy & safe place. We had a wonderful stay!
Excellent location in Walvis Bay Esplanade. Good room, very spacious and clean. Private parking. Staff is fantastic, always ready to help. Good breakfast.
