Amazing location right on the lake. The room was well appointed with everything we needed. We were given a free upgrade to a room with a lake view which was awesome!

The off the main road location on the hill gave great panoramic views of the lake and mountains. Only a 500 metre walk to the main town. Great base for day trip to Mount Cook.
Super breakfast delivered to the room. Skylight viewing was ok as the sky darkened and saw satellite early one morning in two night stay. Stars visible. Bed and bath super as was the shower.
Surrounded by tall pine trees and a large garden, Lake Tekapo Cottages offers stunning mountain views. Guests enjoy free WiFi and free secure parking.

Our host Steve was friendly and welcoming. We stayed at the Rowan Cottage which was cute and quaint and met our needs. Adequate heating was supplied but there were no electric blankets so we were glad we brought hot water bottles with us for an Easter stay as the weather was cooling. Quiet, private and beautiful setting amongst the autumn trees. I stayed in one of the sleepouts and my friend stayed inside the house in the queen room. We found the beds comfortable and the sheets were very clean, plenty of duvets and extra blankets. We felt safe and secure. Well set up kitchen made cooking at home a breeze. Not the Ritz but would definitely stay again as best value for money in Lake Tekapo and so close to the attractions. We were travelling on a budget so it was perfect for us.

This B & B is in a private home, not all that easy to locate, and there is no personal contact with the owner as all your instructions to enter etc were by text. It was beautifully presented and gave us a comfortable night

Such a beautiful lodge, well-designed and fits in the surrounding. quite warm with the fire. Location is great, can see the lake outside the window and the door. There are cute alcapas and sheeps in the neighborhood.

We we very disappointed with our stay and would only recommend it as a last resort.
The room was clean and adequate, but was small and pokey, and the long hallways narrow. The view was partially obscured by other buildings.
The hotel restaurant is closed at night, so no in house bar or food.
We found an excellent restaurant in front of the lake.
Overall ,overpriced and barely adequate… there must be somewhere better?

I have been going there since 1987 and it has never lost its charm. The lake is a beautiful turquoise colour. Mount John is a great place to see the Southern Alps. Mount Cook is nearby. There is a ski field in winter. It is an easy drive from Queenstown or Christchurch.

Great place to visit beautiful view. Colour photos turn out fantastic due to lighting, lake environment colours. Sky at night best I've seen. Rented large house for our family gathering. In advance Contacted Four Square Tekapo they offered to cook chickens, make vegetarian dish, supplied all our food. Also made salads supplied breads, deserts, drinks. We were so pleased with the service this store provided. Perfect. Would of loved to stay longer.

Lake Tekapo is beautiful and very relaxing but only needs a couple of days to be seen thoroughly.
There's a pleasant, flat walk along and above the shoreline that's not too taxing for younger children and there are trails and hot spring pools for older kids/adults. There's also mini golf or ice skating, depending on what time of the year you go.
Shops are very limited and those available are overpriced - if you are staying self-catered, try to bring food with you or eat out. Thoroughly recommend 25 degree - they don't take bookings so you'll need to get there as they open (for dinner) or be prepared to wait/come back later.
Another downside is the inconsiderate behaviour of some of the other tourists - if you're trying to get any decent photos of the Good Shepherd church or stars, you'll need to go very early/very late or find a secluded place for night photos. Some people seemed unaware that this is a spot for limited light so had car headlights on full whilst sitting outside the church - which made our photographers trip a bit wasted.

Lake Tekapo is a lovely town with beautiful views of the mountains and lakes. Lots of lovely walking trails and places to explore in and around the lakes.
There are great cycling trails in the area too.
Mountain Cook in only a short distance away.
There are hot springs and pools to visit and great places to eat at.
The family room suite up on the 3rd floor was spacious, offered everything you might need, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was generous and delicious. The host kindly explained about various walks available, as i had arrived after the information centre had closed for the day. The views of Lake Tekapo and Aoraki from Peel House B & B were fantastic.
It was also conveniently located close to the restaurants, and the Lake.
Location was perfect. Walking distance to town centre and the beach. The park was jam packed with tourists using cabins, caravan places and hostel facilities, however felt super private and peaceful. The room was spacious with fantastic views of lake tekapo. Kitchenette in the private cabins were great, cant cook in them, though the shared bbqs and kitchens are just outside the door.
Clean, quiet, private. Shared restroom(s) and shower(s) were steps from our cabin. They were very clean. Lake Tekapo is just across the road from the lodge. The views were amazing. Nearby is the iconic Good Shepherd church. Thy skies were partly cloudy the night we were there; however, views of the night sky were awe inspiring. Sunrise on the lake was breathtaking.
Very nice and clean place to stay with a beautiful mountain views. We really enjoying staying in this great new apartment even just for a couple day. Location is convenient just a few minutes drive to market, coffee shop and amazing lake tekapo. Also, the place has good amenities, full equipment kitchen, friendly and helpful staff. It’s recommended! 😊
We had a lovely and very comfortable stay at the Galaxy hotel in Lake Tekapo. The view was spectacular, definitely the highlight of this hotel. Everything was very clean and the staff made us feel very welcome by taking us to the room and making sure everything was up to standard.
The bath was an excellent touch especially with the view being visible.
We may have a different experience as we were the only people that booked in to the backpackers over our stay, the staff were friendly and stayed open for us, and had our rooms heater going before we arrived. The room was well lit and warm with plenty of extra blankets provided. Great spot near all of the restaurants and the only grocer in town.
The location was fairly convenient with about 2 min of driving to the main area for food and sights around Lake Tekapo. It is modern with good bathroom and kitchen facilities. On-site laundry was a great help. Host is readily available on the phone and was helpful. Parking right outside of the unit is a plus as well
I was surprised by the staff’s offer of getting free passes to Lake Tekapo pools.
I was not informed that I will be given free passes and I should have save almost $150 for the all day pass in the pools.
Maybe next time I will check with the staff before paying for the Lake Tekapo pools.
The view was great as we were able to see stars and milky way in outdoor patio also with Lake Tekapo's view in the morning Great kitchen equipment with a complete cooking utensil set. Indoor fireplace was our favorites place to gather with our kids. The staff is also very helpful.
Loved having a whole home to ourselves with two bedrooms after being in holiday park for the remainder of our holiday. Great facilities, well presented, comfortable and warm. Located close to the centre of Tekapo.
Superb clean and nicely decorated. The location is at hillside with a glimpse of the Lake Tekapo. The owner is very hospitality and thoughtful. We enjoyed a beautiful morning with a cup of nice Nespresso.
The house is located near lake Tekapo. The room is clean, own bathroom with spacious shower and amenities. Common kitchen is clean and nice. Hair dryer in bathroom.
