The lake frontage with stunning views of the mountains and lake and choices of eateries catering for vegetarians
Good parking but roadworks made it difficult at times to get around
Would recommend the Big Fig for vegetarians and Charlie Brown for great crepes

A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown.
A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Bonus activity was a dinner and movie night at Cinema Paradiso. A really lovely town with a very live-able atmosphere.

Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.
Very Friendly Hosts that came round to welcome us. the property is a self contained annexe to the house and private with its own patio and BBQ. felt very homely after travelling round NZ staying in motor inns and hotels. property had good nformation about things to do in wanaka and books on NZ. it had a washing machine so we were able to do our laundry (at no extra cost). It had all the facilities you would want. was so good we wanted to stay for a few more days, but unfortunately it was already booked.
We love Wanaka. And this location was perfect for us to stay in a quiet place all to ourselves while we were in the town. It was very easy to check-in (John met us when we arrived on the property to hand over the keys and show us around the place) and there was ample parking and space for us. The property was bigger than anticipated. It is also just a quick drive from downtown Wanaka so it was very easy for us to drive into town and then off to hikes in the morning. Beautiful place, lovely stay.
Hosts Noelene and Bill were very friendly and very helpful.
The apartment is well equipped right down to potato chips, nuts and the free breakfast was amazing, using fresh home grown vegetables.
On arrival we received a chilled wine.
The views from this beautiful apartment
are amazing, high up on the hilltop overlooking Lake Wanaka.
This is value for money. Would highly recommend.
Once again, thank you Noelene and Bill for your amazing hospitality.
The Hawea hotel surprised us in terms of the view from the room. It's a quaint little hotel in a sleepy town with gorgeous view that cannot be described in words or captured on a camera. It overlooks the Hawea lake with a mountain backdrop. The restaurant is also pretty amazing with good food options and a view that makes eating there a pleasure in itself. Will highly recommended it.
This was an outstanding apartment. It was enormous, clean and well appointed. The outside patio was huge with a dining table for 6 and 2 lounge chairs. The views were spectacular of the lake and mountains. The location was right in town so it was easy to walk to everything. We stayed in 11 hotels during our trip and this was one of our favorites by far.
Fantastic apartment with wonderful views of Lake Wanaka. It has everything that you may need including a small kitchen. Noelene and Bob are wonderful hosts and couldn’t have been more helpful and the breakfast that they provided out most hotels to shame. We are considering moving into their apartment permanently it was so good. we will be back.
I pretty much never do reviews. I travel throughout NZ & Aus staying in Motels & Hotels. The friendliness of the staff is outstanding. Room was good & what a fantastic view. Also booked a spa at sunset which was amazing especially with the view of the mountain range. Highly recommend the place.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area of the town and a short walking distance to the lake and Wanaka tree. The hotel has a swimming pool, hot tub, car park and laundryfacilities. The suit room is large, clean and comfortable with stove, microwave oven and large balcony.
This was a SPECTACULAR home away from home, close to town with magnificent views of the lake and snow capped mountains. It felt like a home not a hotel, and we were so comfortable for our stay in Wanaka. The beds were comfy, it was warm and had everything we needed.
everything! literally everything. i wish i can come back and stay here again!
-comfortable and warm bed and blankets.
-clean room and toilet
-spacious
-complete kitchenette
-complimentary coffees and teas
-more like a hotel than a budget motel!
very comfortable hotel with great facilities. Clean room and good wifi. I used the laundry facilities which were very reasonably priced. Noticed the hotel has a full kitchen for guest use. Would definitely return.
The location is perfect for access to all things in Wanaka as well as great hikes nearby. The apartment is well equipped, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Luxury apartments with all the facilities you require for a family- laundry, clothes drier, large fridge/freezer. Heated floors were lovely and very comfortable beds. Close to wanaka.
it was a really good apartment for a family with lots of room, storage and a great kitchen living area. The kitchen crockery and pots and pans were first class, with lots of options.
next to town centre, but was not noisy at all. clean spacious rooms. Lounge and kitchen was a great space for friends and family to catch-up. Drying room a plus
Location entry was down a busy residential street, however the other side of the hotel did go to lakefront.
The beds were comfy and the room was clean!
