Exceptional service and property.
The ladies at reception were friendly and very helpful with ideas and recommendations. In fact, we were scheduled to arrive after reception hours, yet the lovely Liz stayed back and welcomed us and showed us to our room.
The resort is located close to Macrossan street, but far enough to be in a quiet location. It was also within walking distance to the beach if you wanted to leave their lovely pools.

I really liked the wide variety of places to dine and all within easy walking distance. Lovely walk along the beach and up to the viewing points. Very clean and in a great location for getting to other areas of interest in that part of Queensland. It’s a great location.

We have been regulars in Port Douglas for the last twenty years the most consistent restaurants are as follows
1.Zinc
2. Salsa
3. Iron Bar
4. Gelato place called La Capenina
Most people are very friendly and accommodating and walking along 4 Mile beach is great however if you’re a family and want to see the reef don’t let the experience be soured by the expense as you do need a bit of money however

Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Snorkelling at the reef, strolling on the beaches and in the rainforest. Hartleys crocodile well worth a visit.
Lovely warm weather; easy to get around.
Roading up to Cape Tribulation still slow and some surface flooding due to heavy rainfall whilst we were there.

Location is amazing, just a short 15-20 minute car drive to the famous Mossman Gorge - DONT LEAVE PORT DOUGLAS WITHOUT GOING TO MOSSMAN GORGE - a truly great place to swim but be very, very, extremely cautious whilst in the water - the currents are very strong in some areas of the gorge.
Port Douglas is very scenic and majestic with many beautiful beaches - most of which you really cannot swim as there are signs advising caution with the possibility of crocks and marine stingers. Port Douglas has a vast range of eateries - would definitely recommend staying/visiting.

Our 5 night stay at the Outrigger in Port Douglas was fabulous! Peter and Amanda were gracious hosts and helped orient us upon check-in. The two bedroom apartment was immaculate and quiet! The pool area was a welcomed retreat after a day out. At the last minute our party of 3 expanded to a party of 4, but it was no problem for Amanda as she already had all the beds ready and waiting. A truly pleasurable stay. Kudos to Amanda and Peter our Outrigger hosts! Beth
The room was clean and the swimming pool was lovely. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful and the location of hotel is so great. It is located in the walking distance of the Port Douglas jetty where almost all great barrier tours start at. It is also so close to the city center where you can find restaurants, shops even supermarket with 5 to 10 minute walking.
Location of the hotel was perfect right in the middle of Port Douglas within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Plenty of space for us to park our rental vehicle. Our room was just the right size with a nie outdoor area overlooking the pool. Lynn and Robert were lovely hosts and great advocates for Port Douglas giving us lots of ideas of things to see and do.
This was the perfect place to stay in Port Douglas. Our apartment was bright, spacious and airy and looked out over palm trees with an easy walk to the beach or the town centre. The interiors are gorgeously retro without being kitsch. We loved our stay at Retro Apartments, and would stay here again in a heartbeat before any of the bigger resorts in Port Douglas.
These units have everything you need, and are really well located for getting around the area and Port Douglas. The space is great, and I loved having the washer and dryer, extra toilet, and kitchen. The pool is pretty big -- I doubt it ever feels crowded, even when there are a lot of people in and around it. Staff was lovely.
Very friendly staff. Well located to 4-mile beach, a 10-15 minute walk from the main stretch of Port Douglas. We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment and it was very sizable, full kitchen, and in-room laundry facilities. The shared BBQ area was a nice feature. Ended up extending our stay here from 4 nights to 8.
This was our third time to Port Douglas, and we had always previously stayed in resorts. This was SOOO much better because it was so central and we had so much more space to spread out and really relax. 7 days in a hotel type room can be testing with 2 kids. Everything we needed was there!
I booked a small room (studio apartment). My mistake but the manager was very helpful and when a larger apartment became available we were able to move into it.
The apartments are on Port Douglas' main street. It was easy for us to access all we wanted on foot. Our kind of place.
We were delighted with the hotel and our room. The welcome was warm, we were allowed to check in early and were offered a complimentary transfer for our travel on departure. The location is superb. Breakfast is very good. We will rebook this hotel if we return to Port Douglas.
Well situated, very close to everything in Port Douglas. Good sized apartments clean, professional, helpful staff, Sue who manages the complex went out of her way to help in any way she could, friendly and caring that people have a great experience.
Thank you.
Away from the busy hub of Port Douglas. Shuttle buses run every 15 to 20 minutes and 8 bucks return ticket . Book ahead for dinner as shortage of staff this resorts dining for breakfast lunch and dinner was closed Tuesday and Wednesday,
Reef Resort Townhouse, although a little tired and worn out in places, was everything we expected for our stay in Port Douglas. Fantastic and easy access to the pool. Host was very responsive to any messages.
What wasn't to like? Beautiful boutique hotel, with immaculate facilities inside and out.
I honestly couldn't fault our stay at all.
We were 100m from the beach and a 2 min walk from Main St!
Perfect
Perfectly located, clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. Rooms are incredibly quiet -- you can't hear other rooms or the street below. Loved being able to walk to everything in Port Douglas.
The location was terrific close to the beach and town center. The room was large with great furnishings. The airconditioners and fans allowed us to have a very relaxing holiday in Port Douglas.
Amazing unit in the heart of Port Douglas. Beautiful pools and you can walk to everything. Tropical outlook from balcony and wonderful array of kitchen utensils.
Clean, well appointed room in the perfect location. Walking distance to central Port Douglas. Opposite the beach and no kids! Manager and staff first class.
