Central Motel Port Fairy, hotel in Port Fairy

Set amongst beautiful gardens, Central Motel Port Fairy offers free WiFi and comfortable rooms with a 26-inch LCD TV and a refrigerator. There is a BBQ area located in the gardens.

This motel was a revelation. I chose it because it was affordable and I wanted to stay in Port Fairy. I was expecting a standard Victorian motel. What we got was a handsome two-storey bluestone building right in the middle of the nicest part of town, with large, luxurious, spotless rooms. The atmosphere was relaxed, the rooms were comfortable and welcoming with no smell of damp. I rarely sleep as well as I did that night. Port Fairy is a lovely little town. Don't miss the walk out to the river mouth, especially if you can go at dusk when the wallabies congregate. There are rays in the river. After the walk, there's a surprisingly large choice of places to eat. Will be staying here again!

Seacombe House was absolutely delightful and we were greeted by Christine who had turned the heating on in our room ready for us. The room was perfect for two with all mod cons. Dinner at the Caledonian Hotel was fun with live music. Hoping we can back for the Folk Festival in 2025?

We liked everything about Port Fairy.

We liked everything about Port Fairy. Good cafe's for coffee. Lots of shops for clothes and gifts. Friendly people in every shop. Lovely beaches to view or walk along. Well kept and tidy town. Easy to order and receive takeaway meals when we don't feel like driving at night.

    Second oldest town in Victoria.

Second oldest town in Victoria. Plus went to the Aboriginal Eel Traps at Tae Rak Aquaculture Centre. Traps are 6,000 years old. Our guide was most informative about their culture. Just brilliant. Main street has not been spoiled by developments. A most characterful area and continues down to and along the river. I like staying in 'old' towns such as this. Echuca, Castlemain, Creswick, Beechworth, Bright, Yackandanda, Swan Hill, San Remo, etc.

Port Fairy I believe is the best presented village on the Coast in Victoria and perhaps even Australia. The walk along the River among the fascinating old and quaint homes is truely memorable. We ate at Hotel one evening and very character filled Pizza and Bar restaurant another evening.Best Pizza we have had in years,Port Fairy is a dream to walk around from the River to the Beach to the parks and gardens and generally around main village precinct.Only thing we would avoid is not staying long enough and we could have enjoyed world class golf course.

Port Fairy is a pretty little town.

Port Fairy is a pretty little town. I loved the historic buildings especially the timber cottages. The town is obviously cherished by its inhabitants and pride is taken in its presentation and history. There are some great places to eat in Port Fairy. We had hoped to do some walking along the path by the river and around Griffith island. My husband has Parkinson’s and uses a walker for balance. We did some walking but we’re limited because the path along the river is broken by stairs to the footbridge over the river and the start of the Griffith island path is wonderful but deteriorates to rough gravel. What a nice surprise, we have stayed in Port Fairy on quite a few occasions and have always been pretty happy with the accommodation however this surpassed our expectations. Obviously recently renovated, it was very clean and fresh. Very well appointed particularly the loft bedroom area. Great location, short walk to shops and restaurants. Private carpark at door. Furniture clean and comfortable. Well appointed kitchen with everything you need for a stay.

We loved staying at this quaint cottage and would have happily stayed another night. Clean, comfortable and great location , just a few minutes walk to the main street . Lots of character with beautiful furnishings and well equipped kitchen. We liked the little touches and the complementary chocolates were appreciated. Christmas decorations were lovely. Easy contactless checkin with key code sent day before. Will recommend for a stay in Port Fairy.

The room was a good size and clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a good Italian cafe where you can have breakfast, located within the building and accessible through reception. Parking was easy, and the Inn is located close to the centre of Port Fairy with its shops and restaurants.

Nice cosy room. Great shower. I liked having a separate kitchen sink for washing dishes instead of using the bathroom. The tv reception was poor but that could have been due to the constant wind. The room was extremely close to the Main Street with cafes, hotels and shopping.

Loved the property, we had a 3 bed apartment-so a two bed plus the one bed unit downstairs. Was perfect. Location was ideal at the top end of port fairy, walking distance to everything and staff were really friendly and lent us some tools to build our kids bikes.
