Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania.
Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania. A gorgeous sandstone convict built bridge, colonial buildings, the old Richmond Historic Gaol, the Rivers Arm Hotel. The walk along the river is lovely and lots of happy ducks. Crafty shops. Well worth a visit. Wish I had stayed longer.

The Richmond area had a lovely village atmosphere and worth staying a night or two. Australia's oldest bridge, quality cafes - Czegs, Richmond Arms for pub food and great little shops - a lovely town.

For those of us from the big mainland cities, like Sydney and Melbourne, all of Tasmania, is a breath of fresh air. We flew into Hobart early in the morning and went straight to Richmond. Automatic relaxation. All you need to do is walk up and down the main street. There are a coffee, shops, restaurants, bars, antique shops. The opening and closing hours are a little unpredictable and no matter what time of year you will need summer and winter clothes because once the wind comes, it’s cold.

So many beautiful historical buildings, picture perfect...
So many beautiful historical buildings, picture perfect postcards everywhere you look! Old Richmond Gaol was an interesting tour too. Easy to walk around town and we had a delicious meal at the Richmond Arms.
A very nice farmstay. We expected a simple, BIG4-like bungalow, but the cottage was super modern, comfortable, well-equipped and clean. The hosts were super friendly and helpful with all additional requests. Feeding the animals was fun for the kids. Th center of Richmond is just a short drive away, and Hobart is also just 20 minutes away. The breakfast was a delicious basket with freshly baked bread, fresh orange juice, eggs from the farm chickens, cereals, yoghurts and spreads. We had a great stay!
Lovely place with all the bells and whistles. It is tastefully detailed, but not cluttered. A comfortable cottage to come back to and relax after a fantastic day in Richmond. We loved the Washing Machine and dryer in one unit. We set it on a wash and dry setting and when we got back, from a day on the town, the clothes were dry and ready to fold.😁.
The beds were so comfortable.
We Highly recommend a stay, if you are in Richmond, Tasmania.
The room is compact but perfectly adequate for two people. The winners here were the extra, thoughtful little touches that set this accommodation apart from most we have stayed in. Equally, no bargain priced appliances or fittings were to be found, only good quality throughout. Scrupulously clean and tidy, Just two minutes walk to the main street, it would be hard to find fault with Richmond Barracks (We were in "The Cellar" room - lovely!).
The historic cottage was a lovely oasis, pretty as a picture, clean and beautiful inside. Everything for a comfortable stay was provided including fresh little vases of flowers. Frome the large windows there were views over the farmland and the location is very handy for sightseeing around Richmond and the Eastern Bays. The wood heater was a real bonus and the cottage stay was a highlight of the trip.
The Chalet was the perfect couples retreat. Beautifully furnished, cosy and comfortable. Very French country chic style. Perfect place to return to after long days exploring the beautiful surrounding areas.
The garden was tranquil and private. An easy walk into Richmond so perfect location.
The hosts were so friendly and accomodating whilst ensuring the utmost privacy for guests.
Cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy. Great water pressure and shower. Beautiful evening. Sun pours into cottage. Continental breakfast provided. Hostess was very gracious and friendly. Offered us some seasonal fruit from her garden. Would highly recommend this Cottage. If we come back to Tasmanian, we will for sure stay here again!
Very clean and cozy. Plenty of utensils, microwave fry pan toaster etc. Bed and pillows just right. walking distant to little village. had a lovely meal at the Richmond hotel. The host is so nice and does everything she can to make your stay as happy as possible
The loft is close to Richmond and surrounding activities (Federation artisan chocolate and wicked cheese company). Everything was lovely from the Loft to the cute animals. We are not dog people but Ruby is so adorable! We will be missing her as well as this place.
Nice location close to Richmond. Attractive, clean, well kept cottage at rear of house with own driveway, parking space and entry. Pleasant garden to sit out in, comfortable bed, nicely furnished. Lovely shower and bathroom.
it was just fantastic it was so well presented and so clean. The extra touches like fresh eggs, bacon, bread and home made granola gave the stay the big WOW factor. Such a cute cottage.
The Property was very comfortable and had everything we needed, Maureen was a lovely friendly Host ! We hope to stay longer next time we are in Richmond! A lovely cottage ! Thank you
This little cottage was full of charm, very clean and an awesome host who couldn’t do enough.I would definitely return, the location a stones throw from Richmond’s main attractions.
Very comfortable rooms/beds and living space. Full kitchen was a great set up with breakfast options and coffee machine a bonus. Enjoyed our relaxing stay in your Richmond villa
