Location is very nice. Front desk staff was very helpful. The dark sand beach in front is very large place, ideal for morning and sunset walks and other activities. Great breakfast, friendly staff. We liked the traditional style of the hotel and the optional themed dinners during our stay. Parking and pool. Great advantage is the car rental office on the premises.
The main beach street starts from Oasis and has nice views of the Sea of Cortez and the bay.
La Mision Loreto is locate next to the Sea Front Malecon and 10 minutes’ drive from Loreto International Airport. It features an outdoor swimming pool and a spa.

Based on only 2 days in Loreto, we enjoyed the central plaza with its old church, great dining opportunities - we tried Mi Loreto and Mita Gourmet. Also took a boat tour around Coronado Island - highly recommended. Charming ambience, friendly people.

Small town, very friendly and helpful people.
Small town, very friendly and helpful people. Lots of tour vendors and shops, but no one is pushy. Walked about 20 minutes away from tourist area to a very good restaurant - Domingo's. Worth the walk. Easy to find, felt safe all the way.

After a couple of days there, we looked up crime statistics.
After a couple of days there, we looked up crime statistics. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the average number of crimes committed in the city was almost none! We walked home at night, since everything was within walking distance, stopped and had tacos from vendors on the streets. It was the most peaceful place, we’ve already booked our return trip in July.

Loreto surpassed our expectations.
Loreto surpassed our expectations. The scenery to and into Loreto is breathtaking. The scenery to the San Javier mission is stunning. The 17th century mission and it's history is well worth travelling to see. Loreto was worth the 4.5 hour drive from La Paz, where we are living for six months. We will definitely return to hike the Mesquite Canyon trail and take a trip to isle of Coronado to see the see lions and birds. Not a big snorkeler, but relaxing on the beach will be ok for me. We wanted to extend our visit for an extra day, but we forgot my husband's medication.

My situation might be a little different than most travelers...
My situation might be a little different than most travelers because I drove down from Calif with friends that live in Loreto and who knew the best places to go, so everywhere I went with them was great. Favorite bar and margarita at Vics. Pablano for tacos. All the restaurants around the Mission are very good. Coffee, sodas and water are expensive often as much as the main course. There are many renovations and improvements to the historic Mission district in Loreto on-going. The beach adjacent to the lighthouse is wonderful and the esplanade along the waterfront is very nice to walk. Great airport, very small, but very nice.

If you are not into fishing a long weekend would do.
If you are not into fishing a long weekend would do. It is a small town and can be expensive, but not as expensive as Cabo. We went for six days and it was our first time. There are tours also, but pricey. We walked around town and took the San Javier Mission tour and the Coronado island tour. Had a good time. People in Loreto were very friendly and at no time did we fear for our safety. We will go back again. Gods willing.
Ok location outside of Loreto with easy access to main highway There was a bench swing on the veranda to sit on, and available picnic table and barbecue available. The water and mountain view was from the upstairs loft window. The stairs to the loft had one rail against the wall side but open to the other. No bathroom upstairs so need to be careful with the stairs if getting up in the night. Wouldn't be ideal with younger children.
One of my best hotel experiences ever. The location is top, just 2 blocks from Loreto's main square. Nice shady courtyard with a hammoch. Water dispenser to refill water bottles anytime. WIFI fast, amenities modern and decoration tasteful. And the best of it all - Liz and her team are super care taking, very friendly, really make you feel at home. Definitely the best accomodation I stayed at on my Baja California trip.
1697 is small boutique hotel in Midtown Loreto. It's location is central to lots of great restaurants and shopping with local vendors. The hotel is modern and very clean. The layout is intimate with a small pool in a central courtyard area. It's perfect for a multi-family stay or for a couple. The breakfast was just right.
A fantastic little hotel, very close to the plaza and to the Sea. Very clean with comfortable bed, toiletries, a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. All rooms overlook a small pool. Also a tasty, cooked-to-order breakfast with eggs, ham/bacon/chorizo, toast/ tortillas and fruit instead of just coffee and pastries.
This is our favorite hotel in Baja. Every detail has been addressed perfectly. The room was large, the beds comfortable, the bathroom great, and the AC working well. The pool and hot tub are lovely, and having the restaurant on site is a bonus. Every member of the staff is friendly and helpful.
Late night Reservation for two families was canceled upon arrival

Be careful find different hotel to stay because they prefer to sell your room to a different guest who’s willing to stay little longer
Or you end up sleeping in your car
