Perfect location if you like hiking, woods, rivers and easy mountains. Liked it a lot. Small cute touristic town, almost a village. And a lot of nature around. Even if you came without a car but you love walking - would be nice place for you. There seems not so much to do in the town other than eating and drinking but this was what we needed.

Monschau is a very pretty tourist-centric village.
Monschau is a very pretty tourist-centric village. Lots of hotels, holiday homes, restaurants and cafes. People are very friendly. Parking can be difficult altho there is a parking lot at each end of the village - do use them as parking in the middle is limited.
It has a lovely Christmas Market .
Monschau is also very convenient for visiting Aachen.
The Eifel is also a great area to walk or cycle and there is plenty to keep adults and children busy in the open air!

Visiting for Christmas Market. Aware only on at weekends.
Visiting for Christmas Market. Aware only on at weekends. We have visited several times over 20 years ago.Town not so decorated eg houses etc compared to few years ago. No longer small supermarket nor chemist, less stalls. Market did not seem as busy . The “passion play” held outside involving the children also no longer. Is this just a sign of the times following Covid? / rise in cost of living. However, we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Just two of us now. Also enjoyed the snow, made town and surrounding area very festive.

An amazing small village between mountains.
An amazing small village between mountains. Amazing atmosphere specially around Christmas time. Beautiful Christmas 🎄 markets nice traditional Cafe and restaurants. The most amazing part is that no cars allowed in the Centre. I highly recommend. Monschau is a village back in time.

We were on holidays in a group of 4 friends with our dog, Ladrador size. I mention having our dog with us as it impacts what you do. We did not visit inside buildings however walking around Monschau we could enjoy the magical atmosphere and colours of the buildings. People were friendly, terraces were heated and lovely. We ate out twice, together with our dog and had lovely well priced meals and found the staff to be very friendly.

This was our third visit to Monschau.
This was our third visit to Monschau. It's a useful stopping point from Calais to Germany/Alsace/Mosel Valley. Very pretty town with good restaurants (particularly recommend Zur Halle which is an old-style pub with lovely owners). We stayed in a holiday home about 25 minutes walk from the town (with on-site parking, which was useful).
Our stay at this holiday rental was amazing. The Wi-Fi worked really well, and the apartment was cozy and warm. The box spring bed and the sofa bed were very comfortable to sleep in. It's in a great location, just four minutes from Monschau Oldtown, with free parking right outside, which is hard to find in Monschau. The host was quick to communicate and gave us helpful tips, making our stay even better. We felt safe and secure the whole time. We definitely recommend this rental for a fantastic holiday!
We stayed in this massive and comfortable apartment, with a landing area, 2 bedrooms [1 ensuite], 2 balconies, big kitchen, and massive dining/living room. Beds were really comfy, the master bathroom was unbelievably big. The place is in a medieval village in Germany near the border to Belgium. Beautiful scenic views any window you'd look through. We stayed there in order to attend to the Spa-Francorchamps F1 GP. The host, Boris, was nice and cool on arrival, advised us where to have dinner.
This was the best property i have EVER stayed in- and i have travelled A LOT. The attention to detail in refurbishing this property is mind-blowing. Everything is just great about it, if you ever find yourself in Monschau, book this property hands down. I myself am a hotel owner as well and i was borderline jealous of the meticulous work done at the appartment. Congratulations guys, you made my stay with my spouse and my mother-in-law an unforgettable experience!
I arrived from Brussels by car, and I park at the hotel parking space, which is very convenient.
Then, we explore Monschau on foot.
The staff is super friendly. Kudos to the receptionists - Mr Guido and his colleagues.
I truly respect Mr Hassan, the waiter at the restaurant. He showed the halal ones and those aren't during breakfast. It may seem like a small deed but an honest and very commendable gesture indeed. Definitely will go back here.
Lovely family atmosphere, Jeje and Anna are very welcoming and easygoing! Upon arrival Jeje was already waiting for us. We liked the details like a chocolate on the bed for example 😊 We had a room with a beautiful view over the snowy hills!! The breakfast was good, everything that we needed for a day of exploring. You can park the car in front of the hotel and Monschau is a short walk away. Would definitely recommend!
the hotel was in a part of an old German village on a slight slope. Access was good and the hotel interior was really classic German with original beams and staircase- Even the crockery was in tune with the era and everything matched. If you need to see Germany dated from the 1600s with appropriate modern comforts then this is it! Highly recommended for couples.
Really nice guesthouse close to the famous Vennbahn and many of the hiking trails in the nearby Eifel and Ardennes.
Great facility for bikes, separate garage with tools and charging points for ebikes. And when you're done with your tour you can relax at the bar or enjoy really good food at the restaurant. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
the breackfast was very good fresh every morning with every thing that you would like for a continental breackfast with loads of extras that gave a great start to the day. The distance from monschau is not far , and loads of walks round about the b and b is pretty new and is well looked after.
A clean, fully-furnished and comfortable apartment in a quiet but central location. Communication with the owner was easy and friendly. Monschau is a very pretty town with many good places to eat. The Handwerkmarkt is recommended to go to. We had a great stay.
A big room consistent with the description. A very nice dining room where the breakfast was served by their friendly staff. Easy to find a parking place just opposite the hotel. This villa is located close to the city center which you can reach by 5 min. walk.
The location of the hotel was perfect. The view of our room was fantastic. The hotel was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was great. Besides, the main dishes and coffee offered by the hotel were delicious. The hotel staff was very helpful and kind.
Very friendly and helpful owners, lovely breakfast, clean room, great view from the garden/terrace, perfect location (close to the Vennbahn and walking distance to Monschau Altstadt), excellent value for money!
Our room on the attic floor and the whole hotel was absolutely beautiful. The view of the nature was stunning! Great location in the center of Monschau.
