FAQs about hotels in Salzburg

The Hills are Alive in Salzburg

Made famous for its “hills alive with the sound of music”, Salzburg is a very pretty town filled with romantic buildings and squares. If you are not yet aware that Mozart was born here, then you will be as soon as you land at Salzburg W.A. Mozart

International Airport. Further your education about this musical prodigy at his actual birthplace, Mozarts Geburtshaus. The city is the namesake of the Salzach River which runs through it, and alongside this beautiful river lays the Schloss Mirabell, one of the many impressive castles within the city limits. Schloss Mirabell and Hellbrunn with their picturesque gardens, beautiful galleries and impressive halls make the ideal spot for a picnic during summer.

The white-stone Hohensalzburg fortress is perched upon a green hill and offers magnificent views over the city. Or, you can escape it all in the Kapuzinerberg forest, which offers splendid Alpine vistas- a reminder of Salzburg’s natural beauty.

The shopping centre focuses around Alter Markt Square and Getreidegasse, the latter is a quirky street with old-fashioned signs indicating what each store sells. With 125 hotels and guesthouses available on Booking.com, your stay in Salzburg is bound to be as pleasant as this city is pretty.

    Beautiful scenery.

Beautiful scenery. Fun Sound of Music tour taken with Panorama tours (I’d recommend them). Lots of interesting places to view and visit. Great for walks and cafe/bar stops along the routes. We went by train to Vienna for a day trip and took a bus tour around the city. A full day and a little tiring but well worth it. Reception staff at the hotel booked the train and taxi tickets for us which was very helpful.

The most wonderful little jewel. Such a pretty town with so much to explore but all fairly compact. Loved the river trip. Loved the lift up to the top of the Munchsburg, the beautiful walks and the great little cafe at the top. Loved the Hohensalzburg fortress and all the history. Loved the Mozart concert in the Mirabell palace. Loved the buildings, the river, the shops, the cafes and restaurants. Will recommend to everyone

Salzburg is nice place to visit and its location is between wonderful cities which can be easily reached either by car, buses or train during your stay at Salzburg. 1. Hallstatt is one of the best places ( almost 1 hour and 10 minutes by car). 2. Zell am see / Kaprun (1:36 hrs by train or car).

Its a beautiful city to explore and enjoy You might need at least 5 days to explore the city (2 days) and near by attractions (3 days). I would recommend Salzburg over Vienna to visit. Must visit places with family (all attractions close by 6 pm): 1) Old city 2) Mozart Birth place 3) Mozart Living house 4) Stroll across the River 5) Fortress Hohensalzburg (need full day) 6) Dom Church and other churches around the old city Near by attractions (full day for each attraction): 7) Salt mine 8) Hallstatt town 9) other mountain/ski attractions

Well located double-story room which was a nice overall stay in Salzburg. The service was kind and helpful. The room had two levels and was quite spacious for an old town hotel. The fold-out sofa was not ideal but this is common when accommodating four people. The breakfast had a nice range of food but was not as good as many other similar priced hotels throughout Europe. For a nice traditional Austrian meal, eat at the nearby Alter Fuchs. Overall, a nice, comfortable and convenient stay. I would revisit again.

There is a beautiful riverside walk at he end of the street which also leads to the Old Town. We found the hotel's location perfect for our sightseeing outings. Excellent location for a visit to Salzburg, very close to all major sites, 5 minutes to walk to the Festspielhaus through a little tunnel underneath the mountain. Clean and nice and really good value despite the extras for breakfast and parking. Breakfast was nice, but the breakfast area is perhaps a little too small. Nice staff, particularly friendly to our child which is always appreciated. Parking garage underneath the hotel is convenient.

Without being in old town, the hotel was only a 10 minute walk...location was good. We didn't opt to pay for breakfast as it was $22/person. Instead we found a very nice pastry/sandwich shop just across the street that met our needs quite well. The staff was outstanding and answered all our questions.
