Lively Gateway to Western Algarve
The 2nd-largest city in the Portugal region of Algarve after Faro, Portimão is best known for its beach resorts, sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and ochre cliffs. It offers a variety of shopping malls, restaurants, discos and bars. Don’t miss the fresh grilled sardines, a typical local dish.

There is a lovely boardwalk with a fabulous beach .
There is a lovely boardwalk with a fabulous beach . There are lots of places to eat along the way. Not suitable for someone with a disability as there are lots of steps to navigate to get down to the beach . I ate in a different restaurant every night. The food was good and not too dear. There are lots of little shops to peruse and people are very friendly. I would reiterate that the steps down to beach are not suitablle for someone with mobility issuesBernieIreland - 10Scored 10

Portimao and surrounding area full of interesting places to visit, boat trip to Silves very good. Did trains to Lagos and Lisbon which where good. Night time Portimao was very quiet, Pria Da Rocha is the place to go, good number of restaurants and bars to choose from, some with bands on.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0
The location for the race circuit was perfect.
The location for the race circuit was perfect. Nice neighborhood and fairly quiet. Be careful of stray dogs or dogs in other properties if walking around. Security of the gates is good, however the windows (most) don't lock. The kitchen utensils are basic and the kitchen itself. The shower heads are loose and hard to control. Lighting outside wasn't working and bbq was basic. There is a bus stop at the end of the road about 200 mtrs.

The beach was great and there were plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. There is a bus from the beach area to the central square but then you have to walk a short way to the train station. Having a train from the beach to the train station would be excellent.

As a golfer this is the perfect spot.
As a golfer this is the perfect spot. Many many quality options with 20-30 minutes. I still think it's the best location when traveling with a family. The beach is awesome and the food choices are excellent. Great access to sea tours and water taxi to Ferragudo from the marina. There's so much to do. I would recommend renting a car so you can visit numerous surrounding towns.Quinlan

But if it’s summer, it will be crowded so you may be annoyed by live entertainment. It didn’t bother us at all. The apartment is a bit old but you can use the kitchen, washing machine, bathroom is clean. I like that it is spacious so people with big luggages can spread and open their bags at the same time. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check-in 2 hrs earlier than the usual.

Beach was 100m away, bit of a hill down to the promenade, but nothing too strenuous. Rooms were spacious and well kitted out with a kitchenette that had a microwave and small living area, again, ideal for families. These rooms were cleaned daily by the lovely cleaning staff. The Wifi was very good, didn't drop once while we were there. Overall, we we were very impressed with the Hotel Da Rocha.

Easy to travel around Algarve area. We even did a day trip by Coach from Portimao to Lisbon. Buy tickets in advance for a cheaper price. We were able to pay as you go with food at the restaurant. Breakfast and evening meal was superb. Snacks in between. Travelled with my 21 and 17 year old daughters. The room is cleaned to a high standard every day, and toiletries are restocked when low. Second time visiting.

Modern type safe, electric kettle, a full set of grooming products ( cleanser/shampoo/body lotion/soap/shower cap), blow dryer.
