I liked the old town, with cobblestone streets.
I liked the old town, with cobblestone streets. I visited a lot of the typical tourist places like the clock and Bern’s Bears. I’d recommended taking a walk along the river and travelling to any high points to look over the town. The transport system is amazing and the hostel I stayed in gave me a transport code so I could use it freely.
I woke up early so got to see a lot of the town before others but by about 11am it was rammed everywhere and some tourists could be quite rude.

We did a wonderful walking tour with an excellent guide which gave us a great overview of the city. We highly recommend taking a walking tour.
We loved everything about the Old Town. It was raining some of the time we were there and the beautiful arcades kept us dry.
We were lucky to be there when they had the light show on the Parliament Building which was magical. Hotel Akomo Bern was a very short walk to the Parliament Building.
We had dinner in two excellent restaurants - one Italian and one Swiss.

Bern is such a lovely city, especially the older part.
Bern is such a lovely city, especially the older part. The older streets with the arcades are amazing to wander about. Free public transport is such a good idea and allows you to explore further, such as Gurten, which is a really nice area to go for a walk. The walk along the Aare River is also lovely and can be done at any time of the year. There is a brilliant mix of city life and nature. Plus the Swiss chocolate is always good.

Chirstmas ambiance at Bern was really great.
Chirstmas ambiance at Bern was really great. Christmas market (chalet with Fondue) was nice too.
Also, in summer time, don't forget to swim in the Aare river (strong current can hold/push you). Go to Marzili Platz to enjoy it.
Really funny (requires some swim skills of course, not for babies/beginners).

Excellent place to ride a bike or take a walk. If you prefer public transportation look no further:) Bern, and Switzerland in general has excellent railway system.
Many things to do in the summer (I recommend floating down the river Aare).
In Winter if you are fond of skiing Canton of Bern offers many ski resorts in Swiss alps.

- We called the hotel operator for info and he politely helped us, he was very nice to us. Thank you!
Good spot. Gives you everything you need. Good wifi (we worked remotely there and had video calls). great kitchen. Price is as cheap as you're going to get in Bern or any central location in Switzerland. Spacious bedroom and quiet space as far as tenants and interior noise goes. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast cereals/muesli, dried fruit, milk/cream, and coffee machine - these were nice touches along with the kitchen and helped us save some $$$ on going out for every meal.
Very well located. Close to the main railway station, in front of the river stream, at a bus stop. Everything was perfect.
The food was slightly expensive, but very very nice. I loved the tofu.
The rooms, bedding and bathrooms were clean, and lockers large and convenient.
They give you a local transport pass (this is true across switzerland tourist ho(s)tels), that makes travel within the city super convenient.
The location is fine, a short walk from the main shopping area and market. Bern itself is amazing and we will definitely return. The parking offsite was easy and the staff was accommodating and helpful by placing a cone outside to hold the spot while we retrieved the car. The price of the hotel is reasonable and that is a big plus too.
Reasonable, value for money stay in Bern (we liked the city very much). Pretty central to cover most of the popular areas in Switzerland, was neat and clean, and had the required amenities. Well connected by bus to the central parts of the city, and had a supermarket nearby which was useful.
Room was fine enough as it had enough space to store our luggage. Plenty of food options around and Bern train station is opposite to the hotel. This hotel could be 9/10 stars whenever they have 1 fan in each room, but for now its 5 stars as your night sleep isnt guaranteed. Staff is good.
The hotel staff were incredibly helpful, both when checking in, and in pointing out places for us to visit since it was our first time in Bern. The location was great, close to Old Town. We couldn't have asked for a better place to kick off our Switzerland vacation!
The property is at the heart of old town Bern. close to many restaurants. there is also a grocery shop close to the hotel.walking distance to the train station. the bed is comfortable for a good night sleep. the coffee machine is a plus.
Warm welcome, comfy room, coffee maker, location close to Wankdorf. And the name...fantastic. Breakfast: dont expect much but you also pay only a, for Switzerland, low amount so all good and nicely ready in front of room.
Evelyne is just the best, you can feel such warm in her house
Indulge yourself and book this beautiful place
I was staying there and going to Interlaken to discover more about Switzerland's beauty
Great Hotel, 5 star service - Housekeeping exceptional, small but well serviced spa, breakfast excellent.
Adjacent to Bern Train Station so an excellent central location to explore Switzerland
Love the hotel style. Uniqness frontage among the old town of Bern. Easy to do self check-in, lovely staircase that led to the rooftop where we managed to catch both sun rise and sun set.
Location - right in the heart of Bern. Quiet. Rooms were small but modern. Bed comfortable. Best breakfast spread during our 9 night stay in Switzerland - even had a pancake maker.
The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is a nice place to stay in Bern as it is close to the city center and the bus stops are easily accessible.
Awesome room with kitchen. We loved it here. free bus pass for area was handy. Aldi across form hotel was a plus as eating out in Switzerland is pricey!
