Seems like we saved the best for the last. This camp is exceptional. Beautiful place inside and outside. Great food, super knowledgeable and friendly staff. We don’t have enough superlatives for describing this camp. The only minus was that our stay was too short. We did two excursions and saw a lot of wild animals, leopards and rhinos and many more. We simply loved it.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at Aloegrove and it was a highlight of our 5 week trip around Namibia.
The property is truly a wilderness lodge unlike others that claim to be! Idyllically set on a hillside with magnificent panoramic views. From our room we watched giraffes, birds and various antelope on the plains below us.
What really makes this place special are the owners, Johan and Ivy. Their hospitality and knowledge of the local area gave a deeper understanding of the challenges facing Namibian farmers and wildlife. The safari tour was exceptional. We had refused others preferring to see animals in the wild however these animals were not able to survive in the wild and the couple treat them with such care and compassion. We were able to get close to the animals whilst they fed.
There was a lovely infinity pool, comfortable rooms and wholesome home cooked food. The staff were very attentive and it made a nice friendly atmosphere amongst the guests. A fantastic experience.

The breakfast was super good, but the food portions are proportionally small. This place is in Africa and we should feel home with variety and good food on offer from your menus

This is a perfect halfway house from Etosha to Windhoek.
This is a perfect halfway house from Etosha to Windhoek.
We left Etosha to travel south, visiting the Cheetah Conservation Foundation at Otjiwarongo and then enjoying a relaxed dinner and evening at Out of Town Africa Lodge.
Our stay was perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating.
Breakfast was relaxed, we were not the early birds, but we were not rushed away by the staff.
I highly recommend this little gem of a town and place to stay.

We stayed 2 nights but most travellers would probably stay one. Not very busy and this is probably because it is too far away to be a sensible base for exploring Etosha. A visit to the nearby Cheetah Foundation is well worth the time

This is a crossroad town.
This is a crossroad town. Good place for an overnight stay, gas up or eat. Not a place I would visit for its tourist attractions. This is the closest you can stay when visiting the Cheetah Conservation Fund and I found the drive to the CCF quite easy.

Otjiwarongo a nice and clean town and easy to get around.
Otjiwarongo a nice and clean town and easy to get around. Casa Forno a excellent restaurant and a good place to eat. I visited Infotech Computers to sort out a modem connecting problem and they assisted me very helpful.
Wow!! Where to start?! Beautiful, large rooms...great food...location for views of the Waterberg Plateau...nearby waterhole for viewing local wildlife...but most of all, immediate access to the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) and all of the activities associated with that: the Cheetah run, the Cheetah safari and the behind-the-scenes tour...INCREDIBLE!! We even had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Laurie Marker, the founder of CCF. The guides and staff of the CCF were all amazingly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about their work.
What a lovely Hotel with such modern and stunning rooms. At check-in we were told that we were put into the newly renovated rooms and I uploaded some pictures of the rooms (hope they are uploaded since sometimes they do not appear on the website). Best dinning experience in Namibia so far; the restaurant serves some authentic traditional southern African dishes such as bototie and offers a wide selection of South African wines. This place is a meat lovers paradise! Meat dishes are very cheap. Staff extremely polite and engaging.
Nothing, except a dinner we payed with good wine. We booked Deluxe rooms (41, 42 and 43) which were not in the best conditions and in addition, we were not informed that we had the right for a different breakfast; and worst, one of my colleagues in the deluxe room was literally prevented by one hotel staff from taking the different breakfast.
For all these, I regret to have stayed there and do not recommend anyone with my skin color to risk in having this kind of treatment.
The lodge, facilities and rooms are all excellent. The setting is beautiful and the walks/game drive is worth the visit alone. Lots of animals and birds to see. Maals are very good indeed and the staff amongst the friendliest and most hospitable I have met with in nearly 35 years of travelling to Namibia. All in all simply outstanding value for money and the perfect place to stay for a first night in Namibia.
a lovely little hotel with big rooms and a huge comfortable bed. they were not serving the full menu for dinner and instead offering us a light butter which turned out to be a full meal! we both had the hake and chips and it was delicious. I had heard that the cakes were amazing here and they had some great ones by the front door but I was so full from the fish that I didn’t try it! I really wish I had. a
Otjiwarongo is one of the best towns we travelled through. The guest house is drivable to the centre and is far enough away to be in a quite safe location.
The rooms are large well appointed and very stylish. The gardens are beautifully designed. The general dining and sitting areas are again well presented and thoughtfully arranged.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Our second stay in three years at this amazing hotel set in beautiful grounds. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely rooms. Nice breakfast. Good pool. Convenient for Etosha National Park (2 hours by car). Packed breakfasts are available for those getting up early to travel to Etosha. Definitely recommend staying here!
Beautiful hotel, we booked one night here during our trip to do the rhino tracking in the morning which was very good and recommended. The place is beautiful and the food is amazing, so different from the rest of places where we stayed during our trip in Namibia. Dinner and breakfast totally recommended.
Lovely hotel with nice pool & super family rooms with separate upstairs. Playground for kids to play. Clean & spacious, would definitely stay again. Great for a stop over or even longer. Food & service were very good. Good value for money.
Just beautiful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Lovely patio to watch the animals. Nice pool area. No power at dinner, but we had a wonderful candlelight dinner. You would never know the power was down.
Staff were very nice.
It was our first night in Namibia and the host made us feel very welcome and gave us loads of tips about the area and game viewing. Lots of wildlife at the farm, especially birds, cold beer on tap, what else could you want?
Comfortable and highly recommended place to stay. Clean and quiet with good breakfast. Lots of secure parking. Otjiwarongo is a pleasant town to stay between Windhoek and Etosha. There are a few good restaurant in town.
A great gate away for hotels and a convenient stop over from Zambezi enroute to the coast. The tented accommodation was great and in the wilderness. The hostess is great company and the hot dinner was most welcome.
Excellent value, amazing views, the mountain view room is large and has everything you would need. Common areas are comfortable and ample. Staff and owners were great. Food was good.
