Characterful (a real antidote to chain hotels) and very comfortable. We loved the thoughtful touches, such as fresh milk in the fridge and good filter coffee in the room, plus breakfast was excellent. The Bramley toiletries were appreciated. The location was perfect for exploring Bath.

Staff were excellent and really friendly. We were provided with a birthday cake plate on arrival and a note from owners which was a lovely touch. The staff went above and beyond. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.
Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.
Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.
North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.
Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Bath has everything, I spent 3 days here then my final day...
Bath has everything, I spent 3 days here then my final day down to Bradford upon Avon, I managed to do everything that I intended and really enjoyed my time there, clean city, helpful guides and a great food experience at Sally Lunns. The hop on hop off bus is a good idea, I did this day one so I could see where to visit. And of course the Abbey and tower is a must if you are fit and healthy, it was a struggle but so worth it for the view and bell tower. The Roman Baths are astonishing and the Royal Crescent worth seeing, another hidden away gem St Johns catholic church which gets overlooked, and of course Pulteney bridge and weir, so if you like architecture, museums, street entertainers, history, churches, sightseeing and food then Bath is for you.

I wish we had planned more time.
I wish we had planned more time. There are many things to do. Beyond all of the amazing gardens , buildings, and regular tourism sites, there is a lovely town. The food scene is great. We also enjoyed a comedy club one night. I wish we had the time to read in the parks, do the full hike around the edge of town and travel on a narrow boat!

Abbey, Crescent and Roman Baths were amazing. Thermae Spa was very relaxing no mobile phones allowed, which was brilliant! Fairly compact City to walk around, although hop on hop off bus tour was enjoyable too.

Bath was beautiful!
Bath was beautiful! I loved the architecture and the resturants. I did a Bridgerton Walking Tour and a Cotswolds day tour. There is lots to do and see! It feels like you’re walking around a period drama. It’s wonderful. Highly recommend a weekend trip!

We loved walking around old Bath.
We loved walking around old Bath. There's a free Mayor's Ambassador walking tour but we were not able to make it. I would try next time. The Roman Baths were very much worth touring. Definitely book online. Free audio tour. Bath Abbey is beautiful. We entered for a worship service. The choirs are amazing. We also walked around inside after the service. Many great restaurants. Be sure to try the hotstone steak place! We drove to Stonehenge and Avebury Henge. Both were astounding. We ended our 4 days with a trip to Thermae Bath Spa. Delightful!
It was pricier than what we'd normally pay for a hotel, but having seen the reviews and photos online, we decided to book anyway. I can honestly say it was the best hotel we've every stayed at. The central location was perfect - close to Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths, the Pump Room, Pulteney Bridge and the shops. The building itself is really quaint and situated next door to the famous Sally Lunn Tea Rooms. Our room was beautifully decorated and had ample space. The staff were very welcoming and breakfast was really good also.
Location: five minutes from the Roman Baths, across the street from the train station. Amenities: big, clean room with big windows--lots of light. Food: attached restaurant with excellent breakfast and great dinner menu. Staff: friendly, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable. Parking: two-level car park just up the street, plus hotel's own park. Weather: don't know how they managed this, forecast was for rain but we had sunny skies and warm temperatures the whole time. Now that's service!
Excellent location that means everything in the city centre is within easy walking distance, from historic attractions to shops and restaurants. The hotel has an international corporate atmosphere, mainly due to bland yet stylish decor. Our 'executive room' was very comfortable and spacious, with very good facilities. Standards of service were high and staff very professional. The spa was fantastic, a great addition to our say in Bath. Continental breakfast was absolutely delicious!
Big thanks to Kira and all the team at Holiday Inn Express Bath. From start to finish they were a credit to the hotel chain. the location and facilities' were great, we encountered small Air Con issue, and this was dealt with promptly and efficiently , no fuss and with a smile. This is perfect service to me and my family. I will most definitely be stating with the team again. And added bonus, you have the beautiful City of Bath on your doorstep. 10/10. Thanks
The bed was so comfortable. My room very quiet overnight, had a great sleep. This is a traditional English hotel so don't expect fancy charger sockets or mod cons and the water takes a while to heat up in the shower but you always get fantastic reception service and friendly staff and you cannot beat the location for being in the centre of Bath. Parking is a bonus at £12 for 24 hours but need to book ahead as it is limited.
The hotel was perfectly located in the city centre and also near to the Bath Forum, where my Mother and I had tickets too in the evening. The staff were lovely - somebody even called during our stay to check everything was OK. The breakfast was really amazing - so much variety and plenty of room to sit. The hotel is very new but my Mother was impressed by the sound-proofing.
Beautiful hotel located not far from Bath city centre (15 min walk) with wonderful decorations and friendly, helpful staff. The spa was really enjoyable, especially the outside heated spa pool. The room was faultless and very decadent with a 4 poster bed to our surprise. Gorgeous marble bathroom with wooden features. The room had a lovely coffee machine which was great.
Very good location. Easy walk to/from the train station, and to the Roman Bath area, plenty of restaurants in the area and the room was modern, clean and quiet, while a little on the small side, it was fine. The bathroom too was clean and reasonable size with a good size shower. The hotel provided a very good buffet breakfast, included in the room price.
Great hotel for a quick stay in Bath. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We really appreciated the value. We were out all day and most of the evening so the smaller, urban-style rooms were no problem for us. Efficient use of space. Staff were welcoming. Location made our visit to Bath easy. We parked in the Charlotte Street car park.
Lovely boutique hotel. Town centre a short walk away. Central location. Room was spacious and clean with all amenities. Large TV, minibar, bathroom was stunning. Reception and check in was very professional and helpful. Parking available for 20 a night. Would definitely stay there again. Price was great value for mid week stay.
Perfect hotel in great location, about 10 min walk to most of the popular attractions/ city centre.
Very clean and cosy room.
Tasty fresh breakfast served by chefs.
Great atmosphere, lovely and helpful staff. Thank you to Magdalena for giving us some tips how to make the best of Bath and for making our stay special ❤️
Very well located hotel close to the centre of Bath and sites such as the Royal Crescent and Circus. Breakfast was very good with wide variety of options to choose from. Staff helpful nd courteous. Room has very good facilities and the hotel was very clean throughout. We would definitely stay in the Francis hotel again.
Hotel is in a fantastic location. We received a room upgrade and had a large suite which was beautiful - very comfortable and spacious and a lovely bathroom. Nice towels. Room service was okay. Free EV charging (included in the - expensive - cost of the car park + valet service). Concierge was quite good.
A well run, fun, contemporary styled, very reasonably priced, comfortable hotel in an excellent location in centre of Bath. We have been coming to stay here for a city break in January over 3 decades and IHG are doing a great job, having invested a lot of money in renovations.

The hotel was gorgeous, I think I used the word wow over 5 times! The location, perfect for a first time visitor to Bath and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The room was so classy, great facilities and the grounds!!! 😍😍
Lovely rooms and great decor throughout the hotel. Our room was large and comfortable and had great features (including a free snack pantry) and amenities. Beautiful bathrooms and a good breakfast! I would definitely stay here again!
Nice, comfortable small hotel just outside the center of Bath. Breakfast was tasty. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Walk to town was quick, a bit uphill going back to the hotel.
