The location was just back from the water. When we visited the weather was good, lovely views and sunset. Close to town . All that we wanted and the hostess could not have been more friendly and helpful. We liked it so much that we came back for a second night on our return trip.

Lovely host, very nice peaceful and quiet location. Good value for money, especially for one night stays, as we were in transit.

Helensburgh is a pretty town with plenty of good eating places and pubs. It has a very picturesque waterfront with ample seating. There is a large leisure centre with gym and a swimming pool or you can just sit in the cafe. There are public toilets on the pier. There are 3 well known supermarkets, but preferably use the local butchers, fishmongers and greengrocers. A regular bus service runs through the town, but there is also plenty of free street parking and a couple of good size carparks. Because of its location Helensburgh is a great for exploring further afield.

Helensburgh is a charming Victorian seaside town on the Firth of Clyde. It has excellent facilities for such a small place. If you don't have a car, everything you need is in the town. If you do have a car, it is a wonderful base for touring, with the beautiful hills and glens of the highlands on your doorstep.

Helensburgh is a fairly big town with a variety of shops and restaurants. There is an 'open' feel to the place, the roads are wide with big pavements. We went to the Ruby a Chinese restaurant which was very nice with friendly staff. The second night we went to the Mare Mire which had lovely pizzas and Italian food. The local people are friendly.
Helensburgh is ideally situated to explore the west of Scotland

the Hill House is definitely worth a visit both for the house and the "box" round it to help the drying out. Submarine museum/exhibition was very good, some good cafes and bars, lovely waterfront
We liked the wonderful warm welcome given by our hosts. It is a beautiful large Victoria villa with impressive gardens, our room was amazing, much bigger than we had anticipated and far exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and the bed was warm and comfy, so nice nicely made up it was a shame to get in it! Lovely dining room where we were served a nicely cooked breakfast in the morning, and with excellent home made Crab Apple jam made by Lesley. If we ever visit the area again we would not hesitate to return 😄😄
Small hotel with free car parking located about 3/4 mile from the centre of Helensburgh which offers a wide variety of shops, bars, restaurants and fast food outlets.
Rooms are good sized and whilst plainly furnished are great value for the money and the beds are comfy.
Breakfast is good with a variety of offerings (no meat though) which did not disappoint.
We were on a motorcycle tour of the Highlands and the hotel kindly let us leave our vans there for the duration (5 nights), before we returned for a final night.
Having grown up in Helensburgh and moving away for a decade my partner and I were impressed with the renovations and decor at the Riva from what it used to be. We couldn’t believe the effort that had been put in to the place!
There was such a chilled out vibe, especially with the staff who went above and beyond!
We had a booking at another bar along the road and decided to leave early just so we could go back and have a drink at our relaxed hotel.
10/10 drinks and reasonably priced
Great garden and outdoor facilities.
Had dinner in the garden as the weather was perfect.
Use of the large living room with big tv and dinning area.
Room was spot on. We had use of their netflix and youtube.
The big fan in the room was a god send however the house was lovely and cool and clean.
Decent furniture.
Breakfast was spot on.
Couldnt recommend it enough.
Liz has such a beautiful house and ensures you have everything you could ever need! She put out a continental breakfast for us in the morning and there were so many options. Could not have asked for anything else while staying there, if we are ever back in the area we will for sure be staying here!
what to say about fox cottage. It’s one of the most enjoyable places to stay. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and every need catered for down to the freshly home made bread. In walking distance to Helensburgh town centre, but the location of fox cottage is in a quiet area.
My friend booked this beautiful flat for Friday 14th-15th... I then booked it for 15th-16th. Happy to say this was no problem for host . The flat is spotless, looked newly upgraded... big sofa , lovely bathroom and kitchen , and a wee dining area . Comfy mattresses and big pillows
Such a gorgeous house and beautifully decorated. The warmest of welcomes from Simon and Lesley who have lots of useful advice on what to see and where to go. Moorkands is situated a 10 minute walk down the hill to the seafront and the same up the hill to Hill House.
Excellent apartment and super host. Very good and quiet location, with easy parking and everything we needed in the accommodation. Would thoroughly recommend to friends and family, and we plan to stay again - far more homely and comfortable than a hotel stay.
Breakfast was fine, but not the best we had in Scotland. View from the room was excellent. Staff was very friendly and included a welcome tea and scones. Wifi in the room was very good. Adjoining bathroom was spacious.
Lovely flat, great location, parking outside, nearby to supermarkets and fuel stations, and sunsets over the Clyde. Calvin (the owner) was pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended for exploring this part of Scotland.
Excellent value, convenient location to Helensburgh Central train station (though you need a taxi to and from Helensburgh Upper train station) and buses, as well as markets, restaurants and the waterfront.
A comfortable, spacious and characterful property in an ideal, central location in Helensburgh, with free parking just a short walk away. Loved the open views across the Firth of Clyde!
Lovely hotel, fab breakfast, l didn't mind that it was vegetarian as it was very tasty. The tray of goodies in the room was a lovely touch. The towels smelled lovely, couldn't fault it.
This palace is amazing, a great location if you want to see proper Scotland (I am originally from Scotland) train station near by for those that don't drive
