Great guesthouse. Confusing as there is a sister hostel in the town with the same name, but this one is a 5 minute walk out of town, which is a little confusing. Owner was very nice despite no English, and he communicated well. Let me store luggage at no charge and take a shower and change on return for a small fee. Breakfast was satisfying and overall good value

There are nice chill areas on the second floor with hammocks and top floor with sofas and some great mountain view.
The staff was so helpful with the stay and the hiking plans: gave a free area map, instructions, answered all the questions.
Best place to eat in Cabanaconde downstairs-super convenient. Had the best breakfast in Peru with homemade bread, fresh fruits
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde. There is only one official bus (Andalucia) and it departs from Arequipa very early or too late. There are also collectivos people can take to get there (local buses). Once there, the village is great, people are so helpful and the hikes are amazing!
Please not there is no where to take money out, you absolutely need cash for everything.

The people are really nice.
The people are really nice. I lost my wallet, while paying the fees to get in the park. I went down to Sangelle for one night, and the man (Patricio) who found it, brought it to the tourist place. They called every hotel down to reach me and kept it safe until the next day.
A big thank you!

Hiking Colca Canyon was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Breathtaking scenery with a unique flora and fauna. I highly recommend the hike from Cabanaconde - Oasis - Llahuar - Cabanaconde). Cabanaconde itself is a very small, rural town with lovely and traditional inhabitants.

An incredibly quiet non-touristy destination that we had chosen to get an additional view of the condors without the crowds. It was a great stay for the evening and gave us another glimpse of life in a quiet Peruvian town. People were very friendly and helped us with directions without being asked.

Cabanaconde is a small, peaceful, and friendly Peruvian town...
Cabanaconde is a small, peaceful, and friendly Peruvian town perched on the edge of Colca Canyon, and a perfect gateway to several great hiking trails. Eco-tourism mixes with local agriculture here, and the community seems to be adapting well to the influx of visitors - many new improvements underway.
The staff was really great. We had to cut our trekking in the Colca Canyon short because of sickness and the staff of Pachamama was very helpful. Even though we did not get to see from the Colca Canyon what we wanted, we had a really great stay. They helped us in the coming days with some other activities around Cabanaconde. There were also some amazing animals, the dogs Nano, Cholita and Lola and the cat Minino (if I write the names correct ;)). Beside of that the rooms were really clean and the food was great. Bedankt voor alles!
Pachamama was the highlight of our stay in Cabanaconde, before and after our Canyon hiking.
After a long travel, we quickly felt home and cosy.
The owners have lots of care and passion, available and attentive. Ludwig took us to see the condors, and offered a briefing about the hike, info on the routes, gave us a mat, advised us to rent trekking poles. Their restaurant is beautiful and delicious. We are so happy we chose to stay there. We even went back post hike to take a shower, eat and change before we hit the road again.
We loved everything! I highly recommend anyone going to Cabanaconde to stay there. Fabulous food, very comfortable accommodation, hammocks and sofas for relaxing open to the sky.
Extremely caring and helpful staff. Brilliant map of the hikes in the canyon, and also local walking.
We felt very much at home, well looked after and safe.
So much excellent information about the hikes, we were talked through the route.
What more can I say! Don't miss staying here!!!!!
The area of the hotel is calm and beautiful, you have amazing views and you can relax in a small cozy garden with a mountainview. The room was also very nice. You have a good breakfast and a tea for free during the day. The host also helped us with maps and gave us some advices, where to go in the area of Cabanaconde.
Beautifully situated place with refreshing pool! The staff were very helpful arranging the transportation back to Cabanaconde since we had decided, after 2 days of trekking, to ride the mules. We were amazed at the skill of the mules to climb such an arduous canyon with us on their backs. Quite an experience!
A superb lodging that we warmly recommend. The hotel is located on the heights of Llahuar with a magnificent view on the valley. Saiss and his mother are great hosts and very kind, we loved it. Their prices are really attractive (evening menu at 13 soles in particular) and they love people. Go for it!
Nice location and nice room with bathroom!
Very comfy bed and pillows
Had everything needed for the short stay in Cabanaconde!
Very friendly and helpful owner, took us to Cruz del Condor (for a fee) to watch the Condors. Explained and helped us organising the trekking in the canyon!
Breakfast ok!
it was one of the best stays I have ever had. we stayed two nights, second day we chilled in the hottup and recover from the hike a day before. Extremely friendly staff. Good food, warm water and hotsprings are really nice at an unique location. Back to Cabanaconde they arranged transport for us.
Hotel on a unique location. Spectacular views on the canyon, even from the room. You almost have the same views as in the "mirador cruz del condor" but without the crowds ! Room was cozy, breakfast was very nice. Would recommend this experience when visiting the Colca Canyon.
The best breakfast in Peru, beautiful garden, very clean bathroom with nice cladding and hot shower, Netflix in TV and super friendly and helpful host Manfred. He recommended us tour around Colca canyon with staying in oasis at the bottom of canyon.
Very good, filling breakfast. Nice bed and bathroom. Very conveniently located. Señor at the front desk was very nice. Overall great stay, and definitely better bang for your buck than the hostel next door. And they let us bring our cat!
It was right next to the Colca Canyon and easy to hike from. our room was clean and comfortable. The wool blankets made it warm. The back yard was inviting. While it wasn’t furnished, we had lovely nights stargazing on the rooftop.
Swimming pool was definetly the highlight of our stay. As we left very early, a decent breakfast was provided in a bag. Location was great since we were going to cabanaconde on the next day.
the hot springs at night was the highlight of the colca canyon hike, and the staff was super nice and helped us reserve a place in a different location for the next night of the hike.
Nice swimming pool. Good room with comfortable bed. Great place to rest after a Colca Canyon trek. Simple but good dinner. Great pancakes for breakfast!
