An outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, Vancouver is sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain is a favourite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch ‘n’ putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home ground of the city’s football and American football teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.
We could go on and on about British Columbia’s largest city and never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodation, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near each of its ferry ports.
Food:
1. Mr Shawarma at Burrard station. Best shawarma in the city by far, and the cheapest. Usually cheap is "meh" but this outclasses anything the city has to offer.
2. Mount Everest - fantastic hakka.
3. Gastronomy. Great pizza
Places to go:
1. Stanley Park - no explanation needed. Do NOT rely on the Shaw/Mobi bikes. Rent bikes thru other means
2. Queen Elizabeth Park
3. Bloedel conservatory
4. Van Dussen Botanical
5. China Town - Dirty, full of homeless people
6. Burnaby - Metropolis mall - Biggest mall in BC
7. Gas town - vibes and that silly steam clock
8. Canada place and the harbor - nice views
9. Granville Island - cool vibes, hippy spot
10. Richmond - I can tell it's a nice place to go, but I haven't had the chance.
Transportation & Getting around town - Buy a day pass for $11.25, allowing you to travel by bus, sky train, and ferry to north van, unlimited uses for that particular day. Downtown Vancouver is super walkable.

We used the hop on hop off bus one day to get around which was easy and you could easily know when the next bus would arrive.
Apparently over 50% do not have English as their first language so some people had trouble understanding us, so we just spoke slower.
We loved Stanley Gardens, the Steam clock, the Architecture and amazing mountains in the distance.
We mainly ate at the Inn where the food was delicious.
Is was sad to see the homeless people though and one chap in particular who was bent over in half and had to stop every 100 meters or so to rest.

A beautiful city that is easily walkable and felt very safe.
A beautiful city that is easily walkable and felt very safe. Close to the mountains the scenery is stunning. We ate at Cactus Club cafe by the harbour which was lovely, Coras for breakfast which is a diner style, the food was plentiful and very delicious and Joeys which was nice enough but service not great. Lots to see and do we enjoyed an evening stroll along the harbour front and hired bikes to cycle round Stanley Park and to Granville Island (cycle lanes everywhere so very easy to do). We were only there for a couple of days before and after a cruise but would definitely visit again.

Discovering something new every day.
Discovering something new every day. I really like the integration of the first nation, be it in the murals, at the sights or simply on information boards that you discover by chance. I also celebrate the vibe and the queer friendliness in the city, which you can see on every corner
There is a great culinary offer for Chinese / Japanese / Vietnamese food. Many delicious cafes in beautiful surroundings. Definitely worth seeing are Granville Island and Stanley Park, where you can spend a whole day each. The Seaside bike path is very nice to explore with the Mobi Rental bikes, located directly on the water and many bike stations where you can return the bikes and then explore the area on foot.
Unfortunately, I only discovered the murals too late, which are scattered all over the city and can be discovered via the "Van Mural Fest" app. They are very impressive.

Vanouver is a vibrant city and has a large amount of tourist attractions and outdoor areas to visit. Public transport is easy to use with a single ticket for Sea Bus (Ferry to north Vancouver) Trains and buses. Would recommend a day pass to use for all three at a very reasonable cost.
This hotel is awesome! We will be back for sure. Right from the start we were greeted by a very nice gentleman who came to our car and offered us a luggage cart, and set us up for the parking garage. The staff at the front desk were lovely as well. We were able to park our car, and check in early so we could do some exploring before the hockey game at Rogers arena which is just steps away. Nespresso machine in the room was awesome, a very clean and comfortable stay. 10/10 recommend, a very affordable hotel for downtown Vancouver.
The best thing about the location is that it's a 5-minute walk from the Oakridge Skytrain station, which is on the same line as serves the airport and the Richmond night market, and continues to the center of the city to connect to Yaletown, Granville District and Waterfront station - so easy access to North Vancouver and Stanley Park. Mike, the guesthouse was gracious and helpful. The house is very quiet and the neighborhood feels suburban and safe. Parking on the street outside the house was not a problem.
This is the best place to stay in downtown Vancouver hands down and I’ve never even stayed anywhere else! From first impressions to last this one probably one of my favorite hotel stays. The concierges were incredible and welcoming I never had to lift a finger for doors or elevators. They put complimentary wine in my room for a birthday and the views are stunning! the room itself is so modern and clean, heated floors, led bathroom lights, integrated plug ins for usb on the lamps, just a 10/10 experience!
Our room in this non-profit hotel was small and pretty basic, but we weren't planning to stay inside during our weekend in Vancouver anyway! It was clean, the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, and the price is a complete bargain for the area. The location is great for accessing the arena, stadium, Gastown and all the downtown attractions. We will definitely be return visitors and would recommend the hotel for active visitors to downtown Vancouver.
The view and location: the Waterfront area is wonderful with a relaxed vibe. There's an Urban Fare across the street where you can buy a coffee and sandwich or just go into their supermarket. Both downtown and Stanley Park are at (12-20 minutes) walking distance. Ubering to North Vancouver (best parks) wasn't too expensive and took about 25 minutes as well. Would 100% recommend to stay here.
A cosy hotel, filled with beautiful artwork and stylish nooks, a real blend of old and new with thoughtful finishing chocolates. Best sleep I had in Vancouver out of 11 nights. The mattress was super comfortable, the sheets soft and silky and the cushions plump and fully. Once you work out your way around the neighbourhood, the distance from DownTour V doesn't seem that much of an issue.
Easy walking to Gastown, Chinatown and Cruise Terminal. Very handy to the various subway lines as well. If using Canada Line from airport, it is better to exit at Vancouver/City Centre station and walk downhill to hotel than exit at Waterfront and walk up hill.
Having breakfast included was a big plus and very satisfactory.
Wow! What a view I got from the 24th floor. FANTASTIC! So exciting. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The room was fantastic, clean, modern, spacious, great beds. The lifts were fast and easy to use. I had breakfast in the restaurant by reception which was of an excellent standard.
A classic downtown hotel with modern furnishings and amenities, the best part is the staff. From the doorman to the front desk to room service and housekeeping everyone is friendly, helpful and professional. 10/10 will stay there whenever I'm in Vancouver!
Good central location close to good range of bars and restaurants; reasonable value compared to other downtown Vancouver options; good option for holiday travel needing a comfortable hotel without frills; works well for a short city break stay
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Vancouver. Easy walk to downtown shopping & dining, Skytrain, & the cruise ship port. Amazing room upgrade to a 2- bedroom suite with kitchenette. Beds were very comfortable.
Everything! Could not have found a better hotel for this price. Best sleep I've had in months, loved the bedding. Courteous, respectful, Knowledgeable staff. 1 block from Canada place Port of Vancouver
The location is excellent and the room was clean and comfy. The decor makes the hotel interesting and special. You can't beat the location if you are looking to be in downtown Vancouver.
This is a gorgeous hotel in downtown Vancouver with helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended, especially if you are interested in a more boutique feel. Loved the free bikes!
Luxurious hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Friendly staff, comfortable room, modern design and finishes. Complimentary turndown service is a nice touch.
