It was a good idea to take accomodation in the very center of the city. We also booked a guided tour, 3h long, which gave us an idea about the city and its main attractions. The city is an interesting mix of old and new, with marks of the (recent) conflicts and history but also lots of reconstruction going on. Be ready to see a lot of tourists from all over the world and many friendly shops. Take care though, to thiefs!

3 or 4 days is sufficient in Sarajevo. East meets West.
3 or 4 days is sufficient in Sarajevo. East meets West. The contrast between the brutality and destruction of the war 30 years ago coupled with a balance of peace, love, tolerance and harmony is an incredible mix of emotions.
The cable car ride to the top of the mountain provides spectacular views of the city.
For sports lovers visit both football stadiums. Even take in a match. It costs under a tenner.
The food is nearly always exceptionally well priced, in large portions and incredibly tasty. Most main courses between £6 and £12
If you are teetotal and want an alcohol-free beer, the options are a little restrictive although you can find a local beer and Erdinger for c£1.50. Both are extremely palatable. Expect to be questioned as to what is the point of beer without alcohol though !! This city likes to drink.
Once you have exhausted the city hire a car and visit Mostar and Neum.
The scenery is simply stunning.
Recommend kayaking on the Nevretti River.

Mostar is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, renowned for its iconic Stari Most bridge that elegantly spans the Neretva River. Sarajevo was very friendly and felt safe and comfortable.
Sarajevo was very friendly and felt safe and comfortable. There is a great cafe culture so you can sit with a coffee or beer and watch the world go by. It is culturally diverse and feels welcoming, all the more extraordinary considering the fairly recent history of war and the siege. There are walking tours which are worth going on- ours was great, with a local, knowledgeable guide. It’s worth going up on the cable car and having a wander around the mountain tracks- all well signposted.
We can’t wait to go back!

A really interesting city.
A really interesting city. The people are warm and friendly, ready to welcome and assist visitors. Many speak a variety of languages. English is commonly used, menus are often in English as well as Bosnian. The food is tasty and there are a variety of cuisines to choose.
The city is walkable, there are many tours available. We chose a free
Walking tour and the Fall of Yugoslavia tour. Both to our guides were very knowledgeable and passionate about their city. They were open to questions and enjoyed sharing their opinions.
The cable car allows the visitor to get a Birds Eye view of its size. The Old Town is great for traditional meals. Good coffee is available everywhere.
I liked the fact that East and West meet, it gives hope. It was an experience that will remain with me for a while.
I loved this hotel for many reasons and the most important is the friendliness of the staff. They really made me feel comfortable and at home.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had a small balcony as well. Also, I loved the breakfast that includes some Bretzel like bread that I loved. And Bosnian paprika spread... Yummy.
Also, I am writing this review from the taxi they called for me to go to the airport after allowing me to have a late checkout and keeping my backpack.
Thank you once again ❣️❣️❣️
Beautiful hotel in the historical center of the city. All best bars, restaurants and museums are near. We didn’t use public transport or taxi, because you can find everything by walk.
The room are clean and feels like home. The owner of the hotel helped us with everything, was super nice and friendly. He took us from bus station to hotel at 00:00 (when we arrived) and also transferred us two days after to station and helped to find the bus.
I totally recommend this hotel and visiting Bosnia
If you're searching for the international branded hotel where the staff is teached how to be hospitable simply skip elsewhere because here hospitality is genuine and sincere. Thanks to Edina for showing up at 07:00 A.M. without previous notice and in just 5 minutes, thanks to her brother, Emir, for the Bosnian coffees and the Drina cigarettes he's offered me and we've enjoyed together. And in general, thank you all for making me feel the warmth of that i believe is bosnian hospitality.
The hotel is near Sarajevo City Center, very safe to walk in and out anytime of the day. The view is very nice from the room. We’ve had one of the best breakfast and the lady chef cooks the perfect eggs each and every time. Harun from Cafe Swiss was very nice and polite. Also when we checked out, Bakir assisted us and was very nice and accommodating. They clean our room everyday and we had the best stay in Sarajevo. We will surely stay on this hotel next time we come back to Bosnia.
Great location, short walk to Old Town and other primary locations.
Staff were fantastic. So helpful and professional at all times. They really strive and take pride in making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Super clean rooms, nicely laid out, functional, comfortable beds.
Great breakfast and it’s thrown in free with booking so what’s not to like.
Good Wi-Fi strength
In summary, we enjoyed our stay and will gladly visit again. Fantastic value for money… Thank you hotel Team!!
There was 6 of us who stayed at the property and there was enough space for us all. The place was just as shown in pictures. We were concerned about the negative reviews prior to our stay but decided to continue with the booking and glad we did as for the price we paid. it really was worth it. We weren't too far from anywhere, we had an amazing time in Bosnia though short. We would book here again.
Everything is perfect. Mr Riyad is a very polite host. Everything in the room is thought out to the smallest detail. Comfortable slippers, tea, sweets, water are included in the price. White towels, good shower gel and shampoo. The view from the window is amazing, the room has a nice balcony. And, most importantly, a very clean room, the cleanest I have ever booked in Bosnia.
We felt at home in Hotel Aziza. Mr Haris, the hotel manager, promptly addressed our queries and helped us book our tours. All the staff members were cordial and helpful. The property ensured that we had good vegetarian options for breakfast. We had a memorable family vacation in Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 and Hotel Aziza played an instrumental role.
It was the first booking experience. All amenities are available in the apartment. It's nice to be close to the city center. The owner is very involved. I think the best feature of the apartment is quiet. I was satisfied with all the service. If I come to Bosnia again, I would prefer this place.
The staff have been very kind and helpful. The hotel is on a great location, my room was very clean, comfortable and quiet, which you need for a work trip. The staff helped me book a car to the airport as my flight was very early. All in all, a great stay and I would definitely come back.
Centrally located and this was convenient for us, because it was rainy during our time in Sarajevo so we could easily come back to the hotel anytime we needed.
The breakfast was amazing - be sure to go for the Bosnian breakfast option!
This apartment is so cute, location is perfect, it was clean and non smoking. In Bosnia is not easy to find non smoking accomodations, even if they say it is non smoking, inside usually it smells on cigarettes but here not.
the location excellent, the staff very helpful, they try to help you they don't say no we cant. and respectful the hotel over view clean, the breakfast simple, it is better to eat outside to discover Bosnia breakfast.
Great location

Staff is very kind. Room is very good, clean, spacious.
Bathroom is huge. Breakfast is amazing! Right at the city center. 2 minutes walk to the main street of Sarajevo.
Definitely book it! Best in Sarajevo
Stayed here during my motorcycle trip through Bosnia. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, free parking spot and there was even breakfast included in the price.
It is probably the biggest apartment that I have ever booked. It was nice and clean.
The lady that welcomed us, Alma, was nice, communication was great.
I would definitely recommend it.
Hotel location and facilities so great. The Hotel Staff are very kind and helpful for every demand. Everyone should visit Bosnia and stay at Hotel Sana.
