We booked the stay 1 hour before arrival after 4 days on a road trip. Our previous nights had been in rather sterile ‘big chain’ hotels. We had a warm welcome at the Historic Grand Canyon Hotel and instantly knew this was going to be a standout experience. The room was immaculate, with all new furnishings including a very comfy bed, nice hot shower and spotless bathroom. We received an excellent recommendation for dinner and it was 2 doors down from the hotel. Lovely gift shops, bars and restaurants are only steps from the front door. The owners are lovingly restoring this old gal and have done a stellar job so far - good luck with the project!

Great little town. The shops and restaurants were quite an experience. I really enjoyed walking around the town and in and out of the shops. The train ride to the Grand Canyon was wonderful. There was plenty to do whether you were walking, driving, or on a bike.

The Grand Canyon Train was a great excursion and would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting the Grand Canyon area from the south rim, but I would DEFINITELY DISUADE everyone from lodging at that property.
I personally would NEVER, EVER stay at that hotel again so long as I am breathing.
I hope you can garner my(our) extreme dissatisfaction with this property in particular.

This quiet and quirky town is loacted an hour from the South Rim Trail of the Grand Canyon.
We stayed at the Highlander Motel which is only a short distance walk to some great local resturants and bars, gas stations and grocery stores.
We ate at the Cruiser's Route 66 Cafe, I highly rate the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwhich and the atomosphere was that of a true diner.
The locals are great and I hope any one who vists, enjoys Williams as much as I did!

Friendly staff and cute property with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Super accommodating and easy to find with attractions and places to eat within a 3 to 15 minutes drive depending on which business you chose to visit. It is also about an hours (1hr) drive away from the Grand Canyon. Was a relaxing and fun experience.

Williams is a great little historic town A lot of great eating options and the gateway to the Grand Canyon. The pizza place/brewery is great and the Pine Breakfast Restaurant is amazing. The Route 66 Diner has great service but the food is meh. I wish we had more time to spend in actual Williams and walk around to all of the fun shops!
Breakfast much better than expected- waffles ( regular and gluten free); scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, assorted breads and bagels and even bean and cheese burritos. Room clean and comfy, with fridge, coffee/tea. Staff friendly and helpful. Location perfect for strolling through quaint Williams AZ ( a zip line down middle of town!). Many nearby restaurants and strong historical Route 66 vibe. Short trip to Grand Canyon. We would definitely stay there again when in the area.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Williams, Arizona, is conveniently located in very close proximity to all the bustling shops and restaurants along Route 66. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was surprisingly good and delicious. Rooms were clean and smelled fresh. Too many times we have stayed in hotels were it smelled like cigarettes or mold. This hotel stay however, was great and highly recommended. Just stay away from
the indoor pool.
Six cabins, newer & well maintained, clean, all rooms with outside decks with chairs/table. Room nicely decorated, with small kitchen area (fridge, micro). Removed from town but still close with ample restaurants (many on Route 66). Breakfast an additional cost but well worth it. Inn keepers (married young couple) very attentive to your needs and very helpful. Exceptional & highly recommend. Would be excellent choice for visits to Williams & Grand Canyon.
This hotel is about 1 hour drive from Grand Canyon so i definitely recommend it to stay here if you want to visit the Canyon.
The staff was super helpful and friendly.
The room was big and spacy.
There was free parking in the hotel.
And the breakfast was excellent!! Anything you need to start your day full of energy!!
Also they dont keep a deposit from credit card as all the other hotels we stayed in USA. That was a BIG possitive for us!!
Located just off main drag in Williams - so away from main noises of the route 66 cars etc. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. We stayed two separate nights - sandwiched with a trip to the grand Canyon. Weekday breakfast lady was great - kept it clean and fully stocked. Weekend breakfast girl needs more training - she was a bit morose and didn't clean tables or engage with customers. Bit dated - an early hotel in the area. No lift.
The house was just as described in the listing. It was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Location was very quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place near the GC, but do not want to be in a hotel or around a lot of hustle and bustle of tourists. It is located about an 8 minute drive from Williams, which has plenty of restaurants and a grocery store.
The location was great. In the center of Williams, a nice place to stay and visit the Grand Canyon National Park. Even though is about 1 hour from the South Rim Entrance, you won't find the cheapest place closer to the park.
It is a nice and quiet place, great if you want just a place to sleep, and recover your energy after a long day hiking in the park.
The room was clean, beds were comfy, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The location was nice - it was quiet and a Mike or 2 from the downtown Williams area. The hotel is dog friendly so that was a huge plus. Williams was a great stay over for 2 days on the way to the Grand Canyon . The town is very dog friendly and the people are wonderful.
Wonderful experience at the Grand Canyon Hotel. It was so great to stay in a historical building that captured all of the charm and history of long ago. The owner was so nice and caring, and I really appreciated all the thought that went into the hotel to make it a nice stay. If I am ever in Northern Arizona, I am 100% staying here again!
We have been going to Williams in the first week of December for over 10 years. We have stayed in tents, trailers, hotels, and rentals. This place was the best. Close to where we needed to be. Warm inviting comfortable. Loved the amenities in the kitchen and the little treats for us.
We are hoping to get this again next year.
The studio is on a great location- approximately one hour from South rim of the Grand Canyon and nearby restaurants, shops on the cute little town of Williams. Kim (owner) was an exceptional host, she answered questions promptly and was in communication to assure we had an wonderful stay.
It had a good location to Grand Canyon South. Bonus which we did not know at the booking, that Williams is a nice little town on the Route 66, therefore we have spend some hours there. The motel had enough parking place even we have arrived ~midnight.
Great location in the center of Williams, historical city located on Route 66. There was very friendly staff and cleaning lady. Price was not high, and what's important heating was in the room (-2 celsius degrees during the night during our stay)
Wonderful place, 1 hour driving to Grand Canyon. On the main street of Williams, restaurants and bars.Nice place to stay while exploring the Grand Canyon area. Clean rooms, comfortable bed and very nice crew.
This was our first stay at a La Quinta, we'd been on the road several days and this quickly became our favorite hotel and booked another night in Holbrook Arizona the very next day.
The hotel grounds were very nice. We enjoyed the bar. The lobby is beautiful with paintings of the Grand Canyon. It was very convenient to be so close to downtown Williams.
