The room is clean and simple. The breakfast is also simple, only some bagels and coffee. However, it's a good place due to the price. 66 dollars for at most 4 people.

Beautiful location right on the beach. I would like to go back in August to enjoy the water. It looks like you could go out 100 yards and only be waist deep. Plenty of seating and the area was cleaned and groomed daily.

We booked day passes for Great Wolf Lodge and stayed at Fairfield Inn and Suits. It was close to many different food options, shopping and gas stations. Also, nearby was a Sam's Club, Burlington, and Five Below, just to name a few.

We were a large group a families (10 rooms) in TC for a youth sports tournament in mid-February and Sugar Beach was perfect for our needs:
- Indoor pool is a good size, and they had plenty of towels
- Younger siblings liked the small arcade
- Small fridge in room was helpful
- Nice breakfast options... like the hotel, not super fancy... but good variety of options and good quality
- Morning run on the beach was great... quiet stretch of the beach
- Dairy Queen across the street was handy... and in the summer, proximity to Pirate's Cove (large large mini golf and other activities in warmer weather) across the street would be great.
- The staff was amazing... very helpful and patient with our young families. Paris in particular was AWESOME to work with... thanks so much Paris!
To be clear, like nearly all the hotels up in TC and especially those on the beach -- it is an older hotel and not high end luxury or anything... but for being directly on the beach and for other considerations listed above we highly recommend it.

Traverse City is beautiful. I always enjoy my stay.
Traverse City is beautiful. I always enjoy my stay. They have lots of lovely restaurants. My favorite breakfast spot is The Cottage and we’ve enjoyed dinner at Poppycocks, Sorellina, and Harrington’s. However, we always have a hard time finding late night food. The Traverse City Comedy Club was fun and the shows are inexpensive. I find it to be a very relaxing trip and we will definitely go back.

I was there because my father was in the hospital. While he was having surgery or sleeping I went around the town… so many cool bar, restaurants, cool coffee bars, shopping… we are going back in the summer for a get away weekend! I loved it!

Traverse City is a beautiful little northern Michigan town.
Traverse City is a beautiful little northern Michigan town. There are many great places to eat (our favorite was Mama Lu's, and we enjoyed 'date night' Wednesday at Poppycock's). There are many great shops along Front Street and plentiful parking. In addition, there are parks and lighthouses in the vicinity for variety. We traveled to TC during the winter holidays, but would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the hiking trails and to thoroughly enjoy the beachers and water. People were very friendly. TC is on the expensive side, but nothing too much more expensive than any other little town or resort site in Michigan. There is a lot of focus on drinking (wineries, breweries), but there is so much more to do than that. If you do drink, however, you would find doing a winery tour a lot of fun.

Traverse City offers many wonderful views, restaurants and shops. I think it offers something for everyone. The view over the bay changes every season so it is worth extra visits to take advantage of the lovely scenery.
The hotel has a fantastic location the is right in the middle of all the action. It was a quick walk to downtown with lots of restaurants, shopping, and activities within walking distance as well. Staying in the tower had fantastic views! Rooms are a bit older but comfortable. Pool area was nice to visit on a rainy day and the safety procedures were comprehensive. We also want to especially highlight the staff, especially Matthew, as we had an issue with partying neighbors which he quickly provided solution for.
The room was very spacious, clean and nicely equipped. The staff at the front desk was super nice and gave us recommendations what to do while in Traverse City. The inn is only 5 minutes from Downtown TC by car. I recommend the Omlette Shoppe on E Front St for a nice brunch, which is also walkable from the Inn. We went there for my boyfriends birthday. The outside of the Inn is nicely decorated with pretty flowers and feels very well put together and homey.
The location was very good for travel to the
peninsula for wine tasting. It was not far from downtown Traverse City but certainly not within walking distance. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was certainly above average. The pool was excellent and even had an accessibility chair to enable people with disabilities to enter the pool. The whirlpool was nice after a long day of walking. I would stay here again.
Clean and comfortable hotel with a beautiful private beach. The rooms appeared to be newly remodeled. Hotel staff was very friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised! The hotel is just removed enough from the main area of downtown to feel like an escape, while still near restaurants and the airport. Just a 20 min drive up the peninsula to multiple wineries!
The breakfast was amazing! Usually hotel breakfast is pretty iffy but we really enjoyed their breakfast offerings. Their exercise room was also a great bonus. Being beach front is the best perk of all though! And very close to downtown. Overall a great stay, more money than we usually chose to spend when we visit TC but it was worth it!
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Checked in with me multiple times via text. Location was excellent. Close to downtown and easy drive to wineries and Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Room and grounds were very clean and beautiful. Super quiet and right on the beach. Will definitely be back.
It is a value hotel. Very clean and the front desk clerk was nice. Breakfast is very minimal. I generally grab a bagel and fruit for later but really only had cereal and very small muffins, coffee and juice. The location is great. We didn’t use the pool and jacuzzi this time but that is fine, too.
Everything was awesome!!!!! We had a great vacation and really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was right on the beach, which we absolutely loved, especially at night. It was beautiful. The sunsets were absolutely amazing. Our hotel was very clean, the staff was awesome, and our trip was fantastic.
The Bay is very clear in the hotel area. The beach was nice. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. Most of the hotel is nicely updated. The restaurant looks like the only part not recently renovated. I am not a smoker and loved that there were no smoke smells of any type in the hotel.
This hotel is located close to the malls and many good restaurants. Sam's is right next door, as is the Cracker Barrel. We went there for a delicious and filling meal.
The breakfast was good with a variety to choose from.
Cute motel, perfect for a night in traverse city! Walking distance to downtown, clean and comfortable hotel room, free breakfast was a great bonus! Very charming and affordable, will definitely return.
As a brand new hotel, this is the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The views from the balcony were gorgeous. The size of the room and bathroom were great.
Very nice condo right in downtown traverse city. Plenty of room and quiet. Communication was excellent and had a great time.
I already booked for our next trip to the cherry festival in July.
It was a nice large room with a very good view and the breakfast was top notch. I am already thinking of staying here next time I travel to Traverse City.
Didn’t come to this hotel for the beach being it was early April, Should have done better research on “Breakfast” Continental in a box not real appealing.
