A cozy little cottage in a stunning and very quiet region of iceland.
We loved to stay there.
When we needed fresh towels, the hosts brought them right away.
We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and soaking in the hot tub.

Nice and quiet location, lovely view over the valley, cozy room nicely and well thought furnished, comfy beds; exceptionally good breakfast!! including high quality homemade goodies. Nice lunch packets available as well.
A real highlight for us were also the informative talks with Abba and her husband about local life.
This place was our absolute favorite on the island and Abba is just a wonderful host!!!

The best house where we stayed in Iceland, the owners were very friendly, the house was perfect equipped, the facilities were in perfect condition and the beds were very comfortable. In our stay we saw northern lights from the house, so the stay was unbeteable. Without a doubt, highly recommended and I would repeat the stay without thinking about it. Many thanks to the owners for the welcome and if I return to Iceland, I will definitely repeat.

We loved our stay at this room which is located on a working farm. The owners were super nice and helpful. The room was spacious (by European standards) and extremely clean. The breakfast was fantastic - the typical continental items were served but also included was scrambled eggs.

Nice accommodation and friendly staff. All the rooms were cozy, I can imagine a longer stay in this facility. Unfortunately the weather was not good, so we didn't enjoy the surroundings.

Lovely property very cosy and warm. The surrounding areas are beautiful. The hot tub was perfect after a day of exploring. We made use of the cooking facilities for the week this was really handy. Perfect location for exploring the north.

The guesthouse is wonderful, we really loved it.
The guesthouse is wonderful, we really loved it. Very cosy and clean room, nice beds, great shower. Microwave, tea facilities, bathrobes for the hot tub. The cute horses on the land. The wonderful hot tub, sitting there at night under the stars waiting for the Northern Light was a magical experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good and the staff was so nice to us. We are vegetarian and they made scrambled eggs especially for us without bacon, thank you so much! We regretted having to leave, but when we are in the area again we will definitely come back!
Exceptional three nights at this quality farm and guesthouse with ready access to Akureyri, Husavik and Myvatn. Abba was a superb host, truly welcoming and friendly, and her breakfast was the best we experienced in our 18-day visit to Iceland -- fresh cooked eggs, omlettes, waffles, baked goods, jams, cheeses, Skyr, and more. We made good use of the maps, guidebooks and other reading materials in the breakfast room. Our twin bedroom was spacious, quiet and comfortable. We hope to return for a winter visit!
This is a great unit within easy reach if Mývatn and Goðafoss and most of the other northern sights.
Quiet location on a farm. The unit is very comfortable and warm (which matters when it was -16° outside!). The kitchenette was great - everything you could need, and the fridge was big, and had a freezer section (which is a rare find). I stayed for 3 nights. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was more than big enough with a good shower.
We’ve stayed at many small cabins around Iceland and this one exceeded our expectations. It’s very clean, well appointed, and cozy. The owners have taken care to attend to the small details. We visited in early October and the cabin was warm and well insulated. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The cabin is behind the owners house but is very private and has a nice view of the surrounding area.
Loved staying here! Rooms were very comfortable, it was very quiet at night. Facilities were excellent! Even the hot tub was lovely. I had the opportunity to do my laundry here, the hosts were extremely helpful and the breakfast was really good! This was the only place I stayed in Iceland that had breakfast included. I definitely recommend staying here!!
The only stay so far in Iceland I'm giving 10/10 for. This place is amazing. We got in super late and the staff were so helpful. The room was incredibly spacious and the private bath was sooo nice. The beds were as comfy as ours at home and the breakfast was 11/10. If we could stay here multiple nights we would have.
The breakfast made me recall being in grade school where food was served from steamer trays while we pushed our trays down the line. This time I got to serve myself in this old-fashioned cafeteria. Be aware, this property is a boarding school during the year and transformed to a 'hotel' for summer.
The place was wonderful. Easy pick up of the key by the reception building. The cottage was warm and cozy and the hottub the perfect way to end a long day of exploring Mývatn. As the cottages are a bit isolated, there is no light polution and we were able to see the aurora borealis.
Clean, big apartment, good equipped kitchen. Best part - naturally filled, constantly renewing jacuzzi outside, which was amazing. Self check-in was convenient.
Chose this accommodation due to quite close proximity to Myvatn natural baths, and was very happy by what we received.
Storu-Laugar was a perfect stay for a family of four, with nice, friendly all you need property, with great location to venture off and explore the area in all directions. Breakfast was amazing and the hot tube a very welcome place to reflect on the day in this amazing country
One of the best accommodations we had on Iceland. Everything was perfect, nice hosts who baked homemade treats for us. The house was the biggest one we had all of the time on our Iceland vacation. Totally recommend this place for accommodation 11/10.
Breakfast was good. I liked the hotel staff's welcoming demeanor after we found this last minute option after being stuck in a snowstorm. They even heated up our packed food, served rice. The customized dinner serving was amazing.
Nice location between Akureyi and Myvatn. Apartment was clean, with quiet surroundings. Friendly, lovely dog greeted us on arrival. Got lucky and was able to view faint Northern Lights outside.
Breakfast was exceptional with tons of choices that were refilled quickly. It is in a good location for taking in the sights around Myvatn. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Location was great for visiting Myvatn Lake and the Diamond circle. Apartment was well equipped, roomy and comfortable. The use of the laundry was appreciated.
