We loved, loved, loved the location. It was paradise. We loved the calm bay and the set up of the villas. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed the feeling of having the place to ourselves. We loved the staff. They were all very professional, polite, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the kayaks and the beach dinner. It was truly different and amazing all the effort they went to make it a one-of-a-kind stay.

The place is amazing in pristine rainforest and surrounded by nothing but nature. There is many trails maintained by the owner to make sure you can explore the rainforest. The drive to the place needs a 4wd but is also a great opportunity to spot wildlife (toucans, macaws, monkeys, etc...)

Iguana Lodge Beach Resort, hotel in Puerto Jiménez

Located in Puerto Jiménez, a 9-minute walk from Platanares Beach, Iguana Lodge Beach Resort provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a restaurant.

We came to PuertoJimenez to go Birdwatching, which we did with Royer, an excellent Birder. Also, I would recommend the Night Walk, with Emmanuelle in the Osa Interactive Garden. The Dinners & Breakfasts were excellent at the Iguana Lodge Beach Resort. The staff were very friendly, also the owner Lauren! Playing in the surf, with their Boogie Boards was challenging but fun!

This place is really wonderful for a full disconnection and to recharge the batteries. We had the chance to see many animals in the garden and the room was very comfortable and spacious. The personal attention from the owner to our opinions and needs was more than expected. We come again there.

    Small town with lots around.

Small town with lots around. Amazing warm bay that we kayaked out into everyday (becuse Cabinas Jimenez provided free use of them) It is calm, swimable and full of fish and marine mammals. We loved the ceviche at several places-Delphines is the favorite. fun vibe there on the water Get your produce at the fresh market at the entrance to town-great selection. Very hot at midday, but mornings and evenings are heavenly.

The nature and exploration available from PJ as a takeoff point was amazing. Books tours early, or you may not secure a space, take himing boots and shorts and waterproof raingear just in case, and be prepared to rough it a little.

Anne, at reception, was friendly and welcoming and always addressed me by name, as if she'd known me forever! That impressed me! I loved the tropical decor, the ambiance and laid back vibe here. Loved meeting other guests in the common areas, from all over the world. Loved having the outdoor kitchen, and BBQ to cook in.

We did a daytrip to Corcovado Nationalpark.

We did a daytrip to Corcovado Nationalpark. The Tour was organized by Osa Wild (a local organisation). The Guide was very good and we saw lots of exotic animals during the Day. Corcovado and Osa Peninsula are very wild and untamed in relation to some more touristic places in Costa Rica. Puerto Jiménez isn‘t that special, but it‘s a good place to start Tours to Corcovado.

A quiet, unspoilt small harbour town.

A quiet, unspoilt small harbour town. Los Delphines was a great place to eat, chill and watch the wildlife. Watch out for caimans! Jaguar is a lovely little gift shop selling delicious drinks and ice creams. Night kayaking to see the bioluminescence was fantastic.

Cabinas Jimenez is in a beautiful location right on the Golfo Dulce. It has swimming pool and very nice shared services for guests. My room was conveniently located and had a/c, which was much appreciated. Also, the hotel is situated within walking distance to the town’s restaurants, supermercado, and other services. Finally, one of the top points of the Cabinas was its host Pablo. He was very friendly; made you feel welcome; was full of good advice; and had a great sense of humor.

We had a wonderful stay at Anluka House. Giselle was very warm, kind, and welcoming. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It had a refrigerator, washing machine, and a burner to cook (with all utensils and plates). It was very close to places we needed to go in Puerto Jimenez (bus depot, supermarket, tour offices, etc). There was a very friendly hummingbird outside on the bushes right by the room. We hope to stay with Giselle again soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

the hotel doesn't exist. no sign, no lights outside, dark building, no people, no reception. I was met by a drunk guy he has opened the building for me and offered to wait for the owner inside. I was scared the situation was like a crime scene. I run away. Booking.com sent me automated message that the charge was made and they won't return the money. Will never use this sammers site again. Will dispute the charge. don't book this hotel it doesn't exist.

I stayed 3 nights in this fantastic location. The place is simply beautiful and a great place to relax. I was really well looked after by Lorena, Gustavo and Dalila who are all very charming and kind. The food was delicious and lots of it. I hope to go back one day. It is remote and the road is challenging but that is all part of the adventure. It was the cheapest and best place I stayed during my stay in Costa Rica.

Beautiful place, near the center of Puerto Jimenez and in front of the gulfo Dulce. The owner and the staff helped us to arrange a couple of excursions. The boat trip is absolutely recommended, we never saw so many dolphins and so near by. We would also recommend the cabins with see view as the beach is near and the connection with nature is assured.

We have booked two rooms, so we ended having whole house with kitchen and a terrace for us. Carlos can also pick you from the port at Puerto Jimenez as the lodge is located just few steps away for the Tiger trail. It's so close to Corcovado NP that sometimes you just don't to go to the park, as the animals come to your porch!

The hotel is located a bit outside of the town, roughly 20 min walk. You can hear the howler monkeys for a wake up call. We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel also offers bicycles for free to get around.
