Discovery Parks - Geelong, hotel in Geelong

Just 5 minutes' drive from central Geelong, this holiday park offers easy access to the Great Ocean Road and several beaches.

Many thanks to reception for patiently answering questions about accessing the heated pool and using the correct wifi password. The heated pool ranges from one metre to 1.4 metres in depth and was refreshing on a cool day outside. The deluxe cabin was spacious, very comfortable bed and furnishings, fully equipped kitchen. Appreciated the Cafe at the front of the park for breakfast. Located across the road from beautiful Barwon River Park with walking and cycling paths. Only a few minutes' drive to Belmont shops and easy to reach central Geelong.

I do the Ironman event each year.

I do the Ironman event each year. I plan to come back and stay for a holiday lots to see, I love the bats and the Botanical garden. The swim circle thing is excellent although has a strong urine smell near the facilities. Lots of paths for cycling and the Barwon river has an excellent walking track all along. Great place for active people. If you're into food then you're in for a treat, lots of cafe and restuarants offering a great range of quality foods. I had some delicious crepes on the foreshor.

Geelong city is a very nice place.

Geelong city is a very nice place. It has a long fresh air beach with a lot of seagulls flying around and basking in the sun. It is a city for people who love running and cycling. A city where you can come back to nature with many kinds of birds such as Cockatoos, Magpies...

I stayed the night as I was catching the Spirit of Tasmania early the following morning. I would have been very happy to have spent longer to explore Geelong. Where I stayed was very convenient, quiet and easy walking distance to restaurants.

The waterfront is lovely; Eastern beach has beautiful park surrounds that reflect an elegance of an earlier era; many restaurants with great cuisine; art galleries; the botanic gardens are delightful.

    Melbourne without the crowds.

Melbourne without the crowds. There are some great restaurants and cafe's in Geelong but without having to deal with the crowds of Melbourne. If you want to go to Melbourne we got a train which was easy and comfortable and took around 50 minutes. Great wineries nearby and if you want a day trip Great Ocean Road or Otway National Park are within a couple of hours drive.

The renovated rooms are extremely clean, spacious and the couch and bed were comfortable. We would say to anyone looking for a place to stay in Geelong, try this place out, this property is close to the waterfront, the owner is lovely, and she will do her best to make your stay great. If it is not in your room e.g. plates or cutlery and you need something, ask and if she has it, she will provide it!

Brand new hotel. Room was well designed, the bathroom particularly so. Minimalist decor but pops of colour were attractive. I would recommend a stay for business or leisure. Maestro restaurant a pleasant ambience and good food. Breakfast had a good range. Public areas such as foyer and lift were sparkling clean. All staff were courteous, helpful and keen. Close to main amenities in Geelong.

The motel had been had been updated in the Hampton style, and presented very well, with quality appointments. Contrary to other accommodation on this Victorian trip, the light in the room was bright and reading was not a problem for tired eyes. Location was 'busy', as expected, however a walk to the Geelong waterfront was undertaken several times, albeit with decent walking shoes.

The location in the centre of Geelong was really great, a short walk to Westfield. The views were also beautiful, all the boats on the ocean. The beds and pillows were fantastic, and the staff were lovely and accommodating. There are a lot of nice cafes and food options around the hotel, which was handy!

Looks can be deceiving! Our stay was great, the breakfast was fantastic. The beds were comfy, the rooms were large and honestly, exceeded our expectations. The outside could use a facelift as the hotel was great, the outside looks old though. The staff were so lovely and we really enjoyed our stay!

Free street parking. Small but hot buffet breakfast (extra charge), walking distance to near by restaurant. Later check out at 11am. We are a family of 4 with young children so two double beds in the same room is nicer and cheaper than other hotels where we had to hire two joining rooms.
