Great view of the harbour and wonderful sunlight exposures through the apartment windows. Very responsive host and we really appreciated the early check in and the designated parking space.

Would definitely recommend to others.

Lochinver is a place where a couple of nights stay would work in order to explore the surrounding area. Make sure you do the single track roads to see the stunning scenery. Restaurants need booking before you arrive in Lochinver.

Nice small town (village?), with everything you need. Shops, restaurants, a bank is coming 2 times a week on wheels, but ATM and paying by card is no novelty there. ;-) Nice people, everyone is greating everyone. Best for hiking the surroundings, I will sure come back for sure.

A small coastal town well worth using as a base for a few days to explore the west coast. A variety of restaurants, coffee shops and tourists shops to explore. A great location for walking tracks and some beautiful beaches. Beware the single track roads, some of them they can be narrow in spots! but every seems to drive slowly which is good :) We were there in mid-September and the northern lights were visible one evening, a lovely bonus.

A small fishing village but with all the amenities - petrol, snack food, restaurants - that any traveller could wish for. Close to the famous Suilven mountain that is accessible via a moorland path and then some climbing. I ate at Delilah's and was not disappointed with either the food - delicious burger - and drink - craft lager. The harbour looks too big, but I gather they do unlad some large quantities of fish here. Not many midges (late August) but often cloud-covered. However, one has to make the most of the weather and predict when the rain will come. All the shops and other amenities within easy walking distances and many re-cycling stations.

Lochinver is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Nestled on the beautiful north western coast and surrounded by spectacular mountains and lochs with an endless array hiking trails to enjoy. The coastal views are amazing as there are rocky outcrops and islands of various shapes and sizes. Self catering is the best option but there are a number of eating places in Lochinver with a good range of options. Road links are surprisingly good given the location but if you want to go off and explore there are many smaller single track roads to take you on an adventure just watch out for the many mobile homes and converted vans that you may encounter.

The space in the Smithy was delightful and very comfortable.
The space in the Smithy was delightful and very comfortable. We could have stayed in all day enjoying the wood burning stove and the array of books and CDs! Everything was provided for two people, and the beds were the best we experienced in our 10 day visit to the Scottish highlands!
Lovely spacious accommodation. We were lucky enough to get the 2 bedroom self contained 'wing' of the main house. Views over Lochinver were great. John was a lovely, friendly host. The kitchen was well equipped, the house was warm and the supplied continental breakfast was huge, plenty of choice and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. Can highly recommend Caisteal Liath house for anyone looking for something a bit more personal and comfortable than a hotel. It's also great value for money.
We enjoyed our stay at Davar very much. The house and the room we stayed in are very nice and cozy, and perfectly located for exploring the village of Lochinver and hiking in the surroundings. We received a very warm welcome and Caren's home cooked breakfast was delicious! We had nice chats in the morning with Dave, who also provided many useful information and tips about things to see and hiking paths. Would definitely love to come back!
Beautiful location close to Lochinver but remote, with deer in the garden, hens roaming, strawberries in window boxes and firewood stacked decoratively. Great hosts, emanating cosiness and enthusiasm for self sustainability and the local area. Breakfast was all homemade or locally sourced, lots of teas to choose from and lovely toiletries in the bathroom
A perfect cottage for a romantic getaway with all the amenities you need in a fantastic location to explore Assynt from
Hot tub with a view over the bay
Well stocked kitchen if you want to cook
& Lochinver has many great cafés and places to eat out
On a clear night the sky is amazing we even saw a shooting star whilst listening to the stags baying
A whiskey offered on arrival, large room, great shower, fridge with fresh milk, generous continental breakfast brought to the room in a large basket. Access to a guest lounge area. Fabulous views with deer and highland cattle grazing just outside the window. Our host was helpful in suggesting where to eat for an evening meal.
Everything! David and Irene are absolutely awesome. Our room was really great snd breakfast was superb. David and Irene made you feel so welcomed and we felt like we were family. They suggested Delilah’s for dinner and what a great choice. If we ever get back to Lochinver we would stay there!
We stayed at The Albannach for a couple of days while visiting the west coast and absolutely loved it. Our room was spotless, beautifully appointed and so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and our host couldn't have been more friendly or obliging. We would happily stay here again!
Clean, comfortable room with massive bed. Stunning location with best ever pies around the corner at Lochinver Larder. Kirsteen was a lovely host and gave us lots of great recommendations running up to the trip and when we arrived. The continental breakfast spread was amazing.
Mary and Mark were incredibly helpful and welcoming both before and during our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and their daughters restaurant/food van served fabulous local seafood. We climbed a few local peaks and had a wonderful stay in Lochinver.
Our second visit to the Hideaway, this time for Hogmanay. The cabin was cosy, clean and wonderfully quiet. The hot tub is great fun with views over Lochinver. Lots of great walks nearby and beautiful Scottish scenery.
Lochinver is a beautiful place to stay & many lovely places to visit close by. The view from the house is lovely, looking out over the loch. Parking spaces opposite. Owners are lovely & on site if needed.
The property is nestled in a picturesque location overlooking the sea. It’s quiet and convenient. There is plenty of parking and it’s just a short 10 minute walk from the centre of Lochinver.
Absolutely fabulous views. Food was great. Staff were welcoming. Extremely helpful, hospitable and knowledgeable about the area and recommended places to stop and visit.
Everyone was surprised how clean and comfortable their rooms were. Easily the best accommodation we had on our trip, wish we could stay couple of nights longer!
