Tolú is a small beach town not far away from Cartagena, so it's easy to get there. You can also get there by plane. They have access to the single most spectacular island beaches I've ever seen and enjoyed. Its boulevard has nice restaurants and bars and places to sit and enjoy the beach, sea and the sunset. The gastronomy is a total delight. You can walk the beaches, boulevard, town center, and the town itself. It's safe and not excessively touristy, so no overcrowded beaches and places, no harassing or annoying vendors or situations like in Cartagena. The party bikes pumping loud champeta music are funny to see or hop on. Use the bike cabs to get to the bus station. Because it's a small town, there aren't that many things to do so be sure to visit the archipelago and mangroves which are all nearby. The nature on your way there is worth seeing and makes the bus trip pleasant.

The infrastructure is poor and the town seems to have suffered through economic decline. However, we didn’t visit in high season (maybe more going on then) and the people we met were extremely friendly. If you feel like a boat trip I would recommend the San Bernardo islands- a great place for a Coco Loco on the beach. We came back in a tropical thunderstorm and I have nothing but praise for our boat pilot. Tolu might not be everyone’s choice of a place to visit but if you want to experience real Colombia then a couple of days here is recommended. Note that taxis are bicycle ones - even if you have lots of luggage. They are great fun to get around!
Cafe Ines was fantastic. The rooms are exactly what they need to be for a stay in Tolu. But what I was most impressed with (other than the very necessary AC unit) was just how cool the staff was. Maria was such a good steward, she really was there to make sure any questions i had were answered. Although I would recommend visiting Tolu only if you know Spanish, she speaks very great English, which was so helpful.
I would highly recommend this place if you’re traveling solo or with someone.
The infrastructure is really nice, although badly managed and with su substancial flows, as for example the lift does not reach the 4th floor where the rooftop pool is. This already discriminate people on a wheelchair or older people. For the rest The infrastructure is really the only positive thing about this Hotel.
The location is nice but is relative as it is located just next a petrol refinery and you obliged to take a taxi if you want to go to the near town.
It truly was an Oasis, away from all the sound and chaos in Tolú town there is this oasis. So nice 😊
The rooms are big, the beds are very comfortable, nice view over the pool area.
The staff are so helpful and lovely.
The pool area is big, and includes a jacuzzi.
The breakfast was a nice Colombian breakfast with fruits, bread, eggs, juice, coffee.
I would definitely recommend this great hotel to anyone visiting Tolú.
Booked a dorm bed but knew I'd be too hot so had to upgrade to private room with air con and Wi-Fi. Owner speaks English, arranged boat transport, and made phone call to next hostel for me. Very helpful. If Tolu had a better beach I would have stayed a few days just to visit with owner.
Food at the hotel is really good. You have to book it at the beggining of the day but totally worth it.
The location is also very good, beachfront, close to supermarkets, the main square of the town and all the navy agencies that take you to the islands.
A very relaxing place to stay, an oasis for sure. Beautiful gardens and very helpful owners/partners who couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was good but other meals you have to order in or go out and experience Tolu restaurants on the Malecon.
This was a really relaxed place. Paula the receptionist and lots of other things was truly brilliant and a lovely person. Parking was fine next door and the place is closed to most things in Tolu as Tolu is a small place
Nice pool, clean hotel, friendly staff. Very close to the main plaza (just a few blocks) but far enough away from the noise for a restful night sleep. We felt very safe walking around the area both day and night.
The hotel was beautiful. The rooms are small but the staff and location make up for it. Yes there are no toilet seats but if you ask front desk you can get one installed.
Awesome staff! You have an easy way to enjoy Tolu from Here, especially with the kind and openhearted owner Kelly. Thank you for a great time! And for having an AC! ;-)
Perfect mix of smart hotel with pool, with being right in the centre of Tolu, two blocks from park and one block from beach. Great restaurant and clean rooms
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's a quite location slightly off the main beach street. The beaches near the hotel are quiet and peaceful.
