Amazing. Love it. We’ve been before, and will return again.
Amazing. Love it. We’ve been before, and will return again. This time, we stayed at the Voyager Inn, it was okay but not great. Next time, we’ll camp at Straits State Park like we did the first time. We’ve taken Shepler’s Ferry to Mackinac Island both times, and it was great. If you’re bringing your own bikes, it’s cheaper to pay for them to ride the ferry with you than to rent bikes on the island.

Interesting city, lots of history. we find it’s a good place to stay as between the Upper peninsular & Lower Michigan thereby visiting both cities of Mackinaw City & St Ignace and their offerings. Clydes is a great old school hamburger drive in restaurant & across the street is the Truck Stop restaurant with great breakfasts.

You already should have a record all of the communication…it was considerable, with a complete lack of understanding, or sympathy, buck-passing. I admitted I somehow made the error…I started the process IMMEDIATELY….I explained, I implored them, I was willing to pay a penalty, and last, but not least, I will try not to stay at a Quality Inn again. I hope your company never makes simple mistakes…it was in USD, to boot…

We loved Joses cantina for Mexican food - it was busy on a Friday night, but the food was great and had live music. As always the shoreline drive is a sight to see, walking on the beach and exploring the Tahquamenon Falls is great for a drive.

This town used to have a lot more to offer 35 years ago.
This town used to have a lot more to offer 35 years ago. Former governor deeply hurt the state years ago and the tourism and a lot of people were forced to leave the state to look for work. The present Governor is continuing to destroy the state and the tourism industry. There's a lot of former great shops and tourists attractions in this town that have closed up over the years. St ignace has the better motels and Mackinaw city has better shops and attractions.

The prices seemed much better in St.
The prices seemed much better in St. Ignace than they were south of the bridge in Mackinaw City. Breakers was a steal for the price and the staff service was excellent. Please note that if you struggle with stairs, this resort will be challenging for you. Other than that, it's a great place to stay.
Nice view of Lake Michigan. Our king size room was huge. It had a separate area with a large couch and ottoman. There was a desk and good lighting. The bathroom was very nice and had a heat lamp which we used each day while taking a shower. The front desk and breakfast staff were very nice and accommodating. There was a nice man out in a golf cart picking up people during breakfast and taking them back and forth to the breakfast building.
This Motel is absolutely spotless. Not a piece of dust on the floorboards not a water spot on the sink. We've stayed in lots of motels all over....the persons cleaning this motel are exceptional. Check in and out was fast. Bed was comfy. Good location to ferry docks if you're visiting the Island and owner sells discounted tickets. A cute UP Motel, well taken care of.
- Great location!
- Clean rooms but could use upgrades
- Helpful staff (they switched our room after requesting one with windows since ours only had a door to the balcony and we have small children)
- Heated Pool
- Pet friendly
- Nice field and seating for leisure time (low foliage/fence by the road would be nice)
Excellent stay with clean room/pool, very friendly and helpful staff, and a great location. Also had a good continental breakfast with lots of options. I read tons of area hotel reviews and this one had the best and definitely lives up to what others said. We will definitely stay again if we need a hotel in the area.
The location is fantastic. Charming interior with more beautiful by the lake beach property. There was bon fire in the night n plenty of chairs to hangout by the lake just outside our rooms. Prompt response to questions and friendly staff. Oh i noticed it was pet friendly too. Can't wait to come back with my golden.
The view from the hotel balcony was stunning and the beach was clean and of a good size. The free kayaking was a really enjoyable bonus. The fire pit was a nice way to end the evening. The location was good for getting to Makinac Island. There was an outdoor seating area for breakfast with views over Lake Huron.
The pros: Excellent location on Lake Heron. Our own balcony with chairs overlooking the lake. Secure sliding glass door and screen to the balcony to enjoy the view and sound of the waves. Good prices. Pet friendly. Newly remodeled room. Walking distance to the Boardwalk, ferries, shops and restaurants.
The Bear Cove Inn was absolutely adorable! So clean and well kept! They thought of everything and it was such a fun way to experience Michigan’s UP. Staff was welcoming and friendly. These are two trolls that’ll be back again! 🐻
The care and attention that goes into the running of this hotel are clearly evident. I found the room delightful and comfortable. Enjoyed chatting wit7h the innkeeper at check-in and receiving dining recommendations.
Cute "old-school" hotel. The campfire was a nice touch for people who want to use it. There are multiple buildings for rooms, some are newer than others.
