We loved the location and the staff was great! We also thought the hotel was a great location and very nice. Our room was very dark and located so we couldn’t open the curtains. We were provided with a reading light which made all the difference and should be in every room!

A large bungalow unit in a jungly area away from any other buildings and a short walk away from the lagoon. The bed was large and comfortable, the room was clean and any requests I made were attended to immediately. There is a lovely dock and palapa in the lagoon area along with other areas on land to lounge and relax. The room is cool and quiet with decent extras to make your visit comfortable.

The property was great! MBH is about 5km away from the center of bacalar, which makes it perfect if you're looking for something quiet and private.
The property is quite large and even has biking trails to ride one, kayaks, and paddle boards for free. Bar has really good drinks, food is great,i and I would highly recommend having a day out on the dock and trying their Potatoes and wings.
Private pools are also heated, which is great, wonderful views of the lagoon from the balconies and stunning sunrises, reception staff was really great as well as the bar and restaurant staff. Bacalar taxi service is also very responsive to get you to town in the area the hotel is located.
Highly recommend and will be back.

The lagoons were out of this world gorgeous and relaxing.
The lagoons were out of this world gorgeous and relaxing. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant, kind and gracious. The restaurant options were remarkable considering the small size of the town. We didn't explore much outside our hotel and Centro Bacalar, however there were many options for great day trips and tours nearby. It was easy to fly into Chetumal and take a taxi to Bacalar.
We ate many times at Xant Ha since we stayed at the Maya Bacalar Hotel, and it was fantastic! El Manati had fantastic food and the art gallery with gift shop was a bonus. La Playita has incredible atmosphere right on the water and the service was excellent. Food here was just OK. We had a great time getting to know the owner at Sweet Child of Wine, and she served us tasty tapas as we sipped local wines. Enjoyed our meal at Nao Sushi, great location on the water.

It is a beautiful lake located close to Chetumal. The tour on the lake takes you to the different cenotes, with time to swing in those colorful waters, it is really beautiful.
We found a nice restaurant called Waah, the food was delicious, all dishes are prepared from scratch. Excellent.

Bacalar is a small town, not much to do, the lagoon is beautiful but the tours are expensive and with time the massive turism will damage the lagoon. They don't have the infrastructure to protect nature from garbage and people waste.

Bacalar is wonderful and feel safe and welcoming.
I had love every minutes of my stay.
It s easy to walk around.
The hostel Lahar douwtown has a super friendly vibes and it really made it fun to be in Bacalar.
Ariel is simply the best. In our whole time in Mexico we never felt as well cared for as we did during our stay here. Whatever we needed he helped; the laundry was closed, so he took care of it, we wanted to book a boat tour, he arranged it, we wanted to find the best way to the border to Belize, he drove us! The cabana too is spacious, so comfortable, giant bathroom, two beds, fan and decent aircon, kettle, coffee maker and mini stove. PLUS the free bikes. They were a godsend. Just stay here and you'll have a wonderful time in Bacalar.
During our one night stay in Bacalar, we wanted to go on a boat tour on the lagoon. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, so we thought of cancelling the trip. When arriving at the front desk, Santiago convinced us to go, regardless of the weather. We couldn’t been more grateful! It was spectacular! Without him we would have cancelled one of the most beautiful things we ever saw.
The overall vibe in the hotel is very relaxing and calming and we would highly recommend hotel Aires to anyone. Say hi to Santiago for us :)
I Came for the bathtub and it truly is a blessing. super deep and perfect for a great soak after exploring all of Bacalar. the room was always cleaned to perfection and always a full restock of all the items I had used. I am truly in awe of the level of attention and customs service. he gives the best suggestions of places to go and things to see. and one night he decorated the bathroom for me and created the most relaxing scene I have ever experienced in a hotel. thank you for the love
The beds were super comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace and good parking. It was very quiet and we were surprised to find out the hotel was full because it felt like we were the only ones there. The staff were kind and welcoming. They let us store our luggage after check out on our final day so we could go exploring. It is a short walk to the center and the lagoon is across the street. The breakfast was just ok.
We were traveling through Mexico with 3 small kids and this was our most favorite accommodation. Spacious appartement with a great view over the lake. Only 3 cabins so a lot of privacy. Also direct access to the lake via the private dock. Paddle boards are available and for any food or drinks the restaurant of the campsite is just next door. The owners are super friendly and will help you with everything you need.
Beautiful eco boutique hotel. The place is so lovely, the staff are so kind and welcoming. We enjoyed the quite room and the pool. It was a lovely place to stay during our Bacalar trip. I forgot my purse in the drawing and they where kind enough to send it to me in my next destination. Jose Luiz and his staff are top notch! Highly recommend this place!!
My favourite stay in the whole of Mexico. This place is amazing and everyone should stay here during their time in Bacalar. Lovely private apartment to yourself. The family who run it are amazing, so helpful and lovely. They couldn’t do enough for us. Very clean and comfortable space and the location couldn’t be more perfect if you tried. 100/10!!
The hotel has a great location and was great to have both AC and a fan.
The man on reception was SO helpful with all our requests and we appreciated his kind manner.
It was great to have filtered water easily accessible at all times. Also great to have a deadbolt on the door which we haven’t found in many places in Mexico.
Whay you see on the pictures is what you get. Very nice rooms in practically a new building. Great beds, great shower and good location. Close to the center and the many beachbars you can find around the lake. We rented the bikes from the hotel to explore Bacalar which was fun.
The continental breakfast of fresh fruit topped yogurt and granola, toast and coffee was perfect. The hotel location is just block away from restaurants and the beautiful park. The Bacalar lagoon is a short 10 minute walk. The entire staff is welcoming and friendly.
Very clean and very quiet hotel. Very relaxing !
It’s very big and it’s in the middle of a forest with a wonderful view on the lagoon
You can rest there in the hamacs or go kayaking
Just remember that it’s outside Bacalar (5 min drive)
One of our best stays in Mexico, the place is very green and beautiful, you feel like in the middle of the jungle with cicadas, geckos and birds singing. You have access to lagoon and kayaks, perfect place to do nothing and relax
This hotel is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! A Moroccan style in Mexico. The location is walking distance from the lagoon and into town and nearby restaurants. However the property is magical, a true hidden gem in little Bacalar
The team of bacalar made sure everything was perfect. Special thank you to indra and franko for giving all the energy and organizing everything and making sure everybody was involved. Best hostem in mexico.
The room is very small and very dirty, also the sink is in the middle of the room and not in the bathroom. There are a lot of other good and cheap hotels in bacalar.
Do yourself a favor and don’t go there.
One of our best stays we had in mexico in 2 weeks. Directly in front of a public swimming place in bacalar. Nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. Beds and breakfast are also good.
Beautiful place. My kids liked playing with the giant Jenga pieces and using the pool. Beds are very comfortable and the pillows are the best I've ever used in Mexico.
Well appointed boutique style
Hotel- In walking distance to all the nightlife and the Lagoon !
Juan took the time to talk to each guest and get to know them …
Tasty breakfast served on the covered patio overlooking Laguna Bacalar. Access from the hotel to the laguna. Kayaks and paddle boards free for the guests.
