They even prepared a tailored vegan alternative menu that was an unexpected touch of care. We're truly grateful to Silvia and her team.

Interesting town, much to see, like the TAAF Snake Farm, where I was for a course, the Gede ruins and much more. Good infrastructure, which is not in all coastal towns in Kenya the case. The beach in front of Papa Remo is alone worth going there!

Watamu is beautiful , but unfortunately too touristical for me. Heavily overpriced for Kenya. People who like bust tourist spots will like it though... traditionally many Italians, if you want to avoid those, Watamu is also not your choice

Watamu has lovely people, tourists are so safe its unreal.
Watamu has lovely people, tourists are so safe its unreal. Large Italian population and visitors, so most hotels and resteuraunts are italian owned. Best place to eat and the most jawdropping view is from Ocean Sports.

Watamu as such is lovely with a few good public beaches.
Watamu as such is lovely with a few good public beaches. Restaurants are galore and most really good, although mostly expensive. Among the coastal towns I visited in Kenya and Tanzania, I have come back to Watamu most often. The water is crystal clear, the beach white and not overrun, and the area offers enough activities to not get boring.

Local administration and hoteliers should strive to attract...
Local administration and hoteliers should strive to attract more local tourists. Overdependence on foreigners leads to exaggerated prices in addition to leaving Watamu as a ghost town especially in low season.
How close can you get to Paradise? Pretty close! At least when you stay at A Rocha Watamu. Surrounded by untouched nature, birds singing, colourful lizzards peacefully walking by. Good traditional kenyan food and the possibilit to get in touch with the researchers and volunteers monitoring birds and reefs. Unforgettable sunrises at this dream of beach. An atmosphere as peace- and respectful towards the environment. Nice conversations with other guests or employees. This is indeed a happy place for all those who favor natures luxuries.
This so great place! We liked everything! The room is so beautiful, there is so big and beautiful terrace, the view from the terrace! The breakfast and dinner were served to our private table outside of our room. We could enjoy the view and privacy and it felt like five stars hotel, when James cooked so delicious food. Breakfast was also excellent! You are already on the beach, when you open the gate from the garden. The owner Beba runs this place with big heart!
This resort was a hidden gem. Through Booking.com, the rates were exceptional. The resort is located directly on one of Watamus' most beautiful beaches. The staff were both friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were unusually large by resort standards. The breakfast was delicious with flexible hours. The GM was always on hand to make sure were had everything we needed. We will make this one of our top choices when returning to Kenyas' coast.
This is a very nice and affordable resort to stay in Watamu, for a relaxing beach holiday. We particularly enjoyed the room size and the two pool areas. The staff are also amazing and the breakfast is really good. Very nice location right on the beach just where the best place to swim is, and it's easy to find transport to nearby restaurants etc.
The staff was very friendly and willing to assist. The beach was also just steps away from the property as well as the pool and beach towels were provided. There were also some specials guests- the owners dogs! The breakfasts were also very good with fresh baked goods, fresh eggs, and freshly squeezed juice as well as eggs your way.
- Beautiful communal spaces including a huge sofa/TV area and dining table, open kitchen and lovely pool
- The staff are fantastic: George, plus the two lovely women who cleaned the room every day and the night security guard
- Good, quiet location in Watamu Town
- Amazing value for money!
The beach is great, the ocean was clean. The hotel allows you privacy and has an amazing calm atmosphere considering that its big. There are places around that you can explore/walk in to such as bars, restaurants or walk at the beach. The pool is great, as well as drinks.
The host and the staff were warm and welcoming they waited for us to check in very late in the night. The rooms are clean and very spacious. We made some charcoal grilled fish at home which was exciting. We have good lunch at Prawn's Lake Watamu.
If you are looking for a nice place to sleep in Watamu, does not hesitate for too long, here is the place. Newly refurbished, it is clean and confy, next to nice beaches and restaurant.
On the top of that, best team in Watamu!
Thanks guys!
The location was superb, just a minute's walk from the beach. The room exuded coziness and boasted beautiful furniture. The bathroom was decently appointed with an appealing setup. Additionally, breakfast was delicious.
Everything was great at Mbuyu - the rooms, the staff, the pool and all with very quick access to the main beach and bars. Plus the restaurant is fantastic and had the best cocktails we had anywhere else in Kenya!
The fact that you're able to cook your own meals is absolutely the best...I didn't have to settle for hotel food... The beach is a 2minute walk . Staff is very friendly. Benjamin is the best!
Location to the beach is perfect, less than a minute walk
The interior finish of the house was awesome
The kitchen cutlery was perfect and smart
Relatable and friendly staff
It was even better than the photos, great pool and beach. By far the best shower in Africa: powerful subtle temperature changes and handheld. Safari, the manager outstanding
Cosy, comfortable, clean hotel. Francesca is a great host and has excellent recommendations! Rooms had hot water and AC. Hotel near to town and fortama beach
This is my second time at the hotel and I am happy that this time food/drinks were excellent all throughout, very attentive staff and good water sports.
