And it is just that, an experience, not simply a place to drop your bags. Matt and Daniela are building a luxurious retreat for adventure seekers who want tranquility, comfort and companionship. The sleek modern design accentuates the location perched on the edge of the mountain (and I do mean perched, the drive up in their four wheel vehicle is not for the faint of heart!). The common spaces encourage mingling but also provide corners to be with your loved one and contemplate the breathtaking scenery. We were only there one night, booked at the last minute, and I regretted not staying longer. As others have noted Matt and Daniela are not finished, but for me that added to the sense of being part of the family. This retreat has so much potential I am dying to see where they end up! Practically speaking; the food is excellent (no more bandeja for me!)- Daniela offered us three choices at dinner , all of which looked excellent. Wine flows,beers are cold, the dining area is gorgeous. Matt even designed the glass topped tables with living plants underneath. Oh, the plants! They are EVERYWHERE. No TV either, thank heaven. Board games if you want, and internet if you must. They are not in Jardin proper, believe me once you get to their place you won’t want to leave- although Matt is happy to drive you down if you want. Matt organized a great coffee tour to Finca El Choco, a steep, muddy, short hike through the coffee plants to the finca, guided by Carolina, and Daniela came with us to translate. I felt like I made two new friends just on that outing! I could go on and on and on. Just visit. Go there and see for yourself. You will be so glad you did. We’re going back next year and bringing all of our friends, so book quick before we take over the place! Ps my husband and I are 50 something world travelers, used to luxury but open to anything. This place was perfect for us.

Beautiful location, lovely and attentive staff. We stayed here as the half way point on our drive between Medellín and Cartagena and it was perfect. We arrived late and tired but the staff organised food for us. We had a very relaxing evening and a lovely breakfast and swim in the morning. It was the quietest and most comfortable place we have stayed in Colombia so far.

Gorges it was just amazing!! Check in and check out was a little slow. It’s not in town at all but a quick cab ride into it and gorgeous views of the rock!!! Just amazing!! I wished we could have stayed longer!! It was a home away from Home reminded me of my cabin back at home just wonderful

Cabañas La Silleta er staðsett í innan við 28 km fjarlægð frá El Poblado-garðinum og 28 km frá Lleras-garðinum í Santa Elena og býður upp á gistirými með setusvæði. Nice simple quiet cabins, in the middle of well kept wooded grounds. Furnishings are basic. Close to Santa Elena restaurants and a half hour walk to cerro verde, a beautiful hilltop hotel complex. Great bakery just 3 mins walk outside. Dog friendly. No music at night. Good for people who want to be left alone.

We had a wonderful stay at Finca Cabanas y Flores. The owners, Mario and Dione, are wonderful warm hosts. And Sergio is always there to take care of you! We loved the location of the Finca. It’s a short 15 minute walk into town, but seems like a world away from your cabin in the hills overlooking Jerico. After dinner in Jerico in the evening you can walk back (it’s very uphill!), or just catch a Tuk Tuk for 5,000 COP, about $1.25 USD. The views are stunning, especially from the breakfast patio, which is delicious and plentiful! The cabins themselves are lovely and comfortable. The bed was great, shower was hot, and it’s extremely quiet at all times as the location is far enough from the road. If you need wifi, the public areas have great coverage, but the 3G cell coverage is great so you can also use Wifi in your cabin using the iPhone hotspot. If you really need wifi in your cabin you get get great coverage for 10,000 COP per day, or $4 USD. You can’t go wrong staying at Cabanas y Flores!

Hospedaje Santaelena -chalets de montaña- býður upp á gistirými í bústaðastíl í hjarta Santa Elena, Medellin. Gististaðurinn er umkringdur náttúru. Ókeypis bílastæði eru í boði. This entire place is lovely. The gentleman running the location was exceedingly accomodating, and the property is fantastic.

Ecoverso Cabañas del bosque er staðsett í Medellín, 17 km frá El Poblado-garðinum og 17 km frá Lleras-garðinum, og býður upp á garð- og borgarútsýni. The cabin is very cute and well-equipped, the surrounding scenery is stunning, and the host couldn't be more helpful. This was the perfect way to start our Colombian adventure, perched on the edge of a mountain with views over Medellin to one side, and views of the countryside to the other. At the end of our stay we took the metro cable from Parque Arví down into the city...which provides another must-see perspective over Medellin. Overall...highly recommend to anyone looking for a little bit of nature, serenity and seclusion within reach of Medellin.
