What a privilege to spend time in the rainforest. Amazing location right by the waterfalls, learned so much on our walks both with Janith and with the guide ($45 per person for the rainforest trek). Food on the expensive side for Sri Lanka but worth it as so delicious and all grown and produced on site. Highly recommended for all nature lovers and those looking to escape the tourist trails of Sri Lanka!

Specially the food was amazing 🤩 and the mother of the owner was so kind and good person she made me feel like That I stayed in my home with my mother ❤️🙏🏻 as well as she cooks yummy Sri Lankan food that you can try in this place ! I’m definitely gonna stay here again 💯 highly recommend this place

From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Beyond the culinary delights, our room was a sanctuary of comfort and style. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. The pool is part jacuzzi, so that was a pleasant surprise. Quiet surroundings with a fantastic paddy field view. Kitchen had all the necessary utensils with a decent supply of spices and condiments. Dumith and his family were extremely accommodating, helpful and caring. The room is well-equipped, private, clean and has proper Wifi. It has a really nice terrace where you can listen and watch all sort of birds pass by. We were treated like family members. They always went out of their way to make sure we are comfortable. Dumith was always happy to show us around and accompanied us all the way to Deniyaya city to make sure we get on the right bus. Highly recommended and will be back.
