There are many pretty spots around the lake to explore -parks with swimming areas that are well-kept, an old growth forest and walking paths. We attended the first Lake Cowichan Bluegrass Festival for the weekend, which was only 10 min away. The town of Lake Cowichan is near, with groceries and a few restaurants. Youbou is a quiet and beautiful out-of-the-way destination.
