Lia (the host) is the warmest, friendliest, kindest and most genuine person. Her house is full of beautiful arts, walls decorated with her daughter's and her paintings and it feels very homy. Lia speaks fluent English and Russian (probably other languages too) and shared most enticing stories. She made us most delicious breakfast and played wonderful pieces of music on the piano for a great start of the day. She owns two properties which surround small but very enjoyable outdoors area. We stayed in the new one (only 1 year old) so the door brought us straight to the garden. Parking was available right in front of the property, WiFi was excellent and the room was very clean. The place is walking distance from the main sites in Gori.

Gori: A Day Trip from Tbilisi
Gori is a small and quiet town in central Georgia, with a population of around 50,000 people. It is best known as the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, and it is home to a number of Stalin-related museums and attractions.
Gori is a good enough place to visit for a day trip from Tbilisi, but there is not much to see or do otherwise. The main attractions in Gori are:
Stalin Museum: This museum is dedicated to the life and legacy of Joseph Stalin. It contains a large collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents related to him. The museum isn't well-organized and informative, and thus it is helpful to have a guide to explain the exhibits in more detail. There were photos of several men, but no real explanation as to who they were. We tried to find a guide who could explain things to us, but due to a language barrier, we failed at this. The ticket price is 15 GEL (6 USD) per person.
Gori Fortress: This medieval fortress is located on a hilltop overlooking the city. It offers underwhelming views of the surrounding countryside. The fortress is in ruins and didn't really feel like it was worth a climb.
Hero Memorial: It had cool giant sculptures but with no real explanation.
I also ate at Berkin Restaurant in Gori. The food was nice, but the prices were similar to Tbilisi, so it is not a budget-friendly option.
It's clear they are very new to tourists.
Overall, Gori is a worth a visit if you are interested in learning more about Joseph Stalin or Georgian history. However, there is not much else to see or do in the town, so it is best to visit as a day trip from Tbilisi.

I've been to Gori several times of the past years. The cutleti is awesome and the fortress is a fun place to explore. Aside from the infamous Stalin museum, there is a interesting ethnographic museum and the war museum.

One of the best restaurants in Georgia call Gori home, from the ruins, to the temple to the Castle, slowly walking through oldtown or visiting one of the most iconic museums in history you cant stop falling in love with Gori, the rich culture, history and friendly hosts this area has to offer is seldom found outside of major centres around the world, the city successfully hosts their offering to travelers and guests.

Lots to see but do not miss those slightly hiding circle of warriors - all cut up with missing limps and obviously representing soldiers that have been slain in battle. At the base of the castle and behind a church.

A very interested area to visit, old history - one need to read a bid more before visiting the city of Gori
Lots of places to visit

Local food is recommended
Bekas and Ilona are the most hospitable and sweet hosts in Gori, if not in Georgia!
The rooms are very warm and comfortable and stylish. The meals they prepare are something you should try if you want to have a true Georgian Experience! They also arrange excursions and transportation and generally they can help with just about anything!!
On top of that it was a great surprise to know that they speak greek!
The photos on the site do not do justice to the rooms!
The family greeted us nicely with a warm smile and even offered their wine to taste for free. The apartments are exceptional. They have definitely been renovated recently, they're very clean, fresh linens, private kitchen, and bathroom... They have a nice porch to sit on and enjoy the air in the evening. Their apartments can accommodate a big family of up to 10 people.
Long story short, one of the best stays in Gori! No doubt.
Hostess was generous and smiley, gave me a piece of nice clothing, cheese, watermelon, tomatoes, many thanks. Location was excellent, close to supermarket and stadium (I paid 5 lari and enjoyed a nice soccer match), 20 minutes walk to the fortress. 7 minutes walk to the Public Service Hall where you can catch a bus to Tbilisi in the morning or take a bus to Gori Bus station where you will have more choices of destinations.
The hotel is located near the road, there is big car parking; we were met by administrator who offered us free drinks and snacks for free, this was great! All personal was very careful and supportive; they advice us great fish restaurant that is located near the hostel.rooms are new, cosy and clean. Administrator was always available and advice us in advance how to reach hotel. Highly recomended.
Clean and comfortable bed, good wifi & free use of the washing machine.
Greeted with cake and smiles as you enter through the family living room. Nice private room with spiral staircase and balcony overlooking courtyard.
Located in attractive old Gori area (brick buildings) and 5 minute walk to Fortress and 8 mins to Stalin Park and museums. Don't miss the ethnographic museum.
Emma is an incredibly warm and welcoming host! The room is clean, comfortable and spacious, and the location is convenient. There were nice bonuses as well such as the snooker table which we enjoyed with the local wine available every evening. The breakfast offers a wide spread of local flavours. We would love to come back again if we are back in Gori!
Didi madloba, very nice owner, perfect comfort. Everything I needed was there. I am sorry I neeeed to leave earlier than expected. I will come to Gori again I think when I will mert up with one person, I will for sure want to come here again then.
The location was great, right near the fortress and the museum. The hotel looks brand new or recently refurbished, staff was nice and the room was large and clean. The breakfast was continental style and tasty.
Lia was a wonderful host, welcoming our family into her home. Even though we stayed only one evening, we learned a great deal about Gori and Georgia. Breakfast the following morning was varied and generous.
Svetlana is really nice host, she speaks very well English. She can recommend you good places in Gori and Overall Georgia. Staying at her place is like staying at family home. Highly recommended
Delightful oasis in gray Gori. Modern and clean facilities. Emma is super friendly, welcomed me with late breakfast when I checked in early, and helped me get on a taxi to Tbilisi.
