The location is perfect for our overnight stop on the E4 route. Views from it were stunning and the whole ambience of the area is traditional Greek culture, including the restaurant.
The owners and staff of were extremely welcoming, too.

Amazing location with great views from balcony friendly staff
It’s a pretty and lively place, only accessible by boat.
It’s a pretty and lively place, only accessible by boat. The town is a nice place to enjoy food and drink. We found Ilios to be the best restaurant and the bar on the far right (looking from the sea) to be an enjoyable place for a drink or two. The best things about the place, for us, were the immediate access to the E4 hiking route and the multiple boat trips to nearby beaches Glika Nera and Marmara. Glika Nera is fabulous if not too crowded. Try the home made Kolokithokeftedes (courgette balls) with a little Tzatziki at the taverna on the jetty. Yum!

I have been coming for years, it is a special and magical place. I love Sweetwater beach, the best stuffed tomatos ever. The local folk are welcoming and friendly, the sea clear and the whole place spotless. Lots of eateries and bars and mini markets to cater for all needs. You can access adjoining beaches and tiny villages via foot and ferry. the taxi Sfakia company provide superb airport pick ups and safe rides over the mountains to the ferry at Sfakia for Loutro.

Loutro is just beautiful and very peaceful especially in the evening. All the places we ate were good and there is a very good choice of tavernas. It's equally great for walkers and for relaxing, swimming, reading etc.
The ferry boat sail from Paleochora is really pleasant and picturesque. Loutro is easy to get around and there are little boats to take one to Marmara beach where there is amazing clear water for swimming and a cafe.
We loved it.

A unique and charming village, accessible by boat from Hora Sfakia, with several small and cosy beaches, plenty of nice taverns with local food, friendly people. Although there are many visitors during the day, it was peaceful and authentic. Prices were regular and I did not encounter any "tourist traps". Could have stayed for months...

the beach and water are incredible ones of the best on the island. there are several small restaurants where you can enjoy Cretan cuisine, try the local delicacy of sfakiani pita with honey. it can get very busy especially on weekends with several boats throughout the day so get there early and find a good spot on the beach. at night it's quite so good for families. I would recommend a one or two night stay , definitely a place to relax.

We stayed in Loutro for two days not nearly long enough to give a proper review but the restaurants we visited were fantastic, it only takes 15 minutes to walk from one end of the bay to the other. I would recommend if you're planning on going in the sea to take a pair of Beach shoes as the beach is pebbles.
I stayed here with my son when we were walking a section of the E4 path. The two brothers who run the taverna are very professional and yet very personable. The rooms are very comfortable; the food is excellent. The situation is perfect, being a couple of kilometres walk from Loutro or a very nice boat ride. The E4 path goes right through the garden. The Aradena gorge is close by and you can walk up to Anopoli if you fancy an outing in the hills behind.
Loutro is wonderful but Akrogiali is even better!
Clean room, near the restaurant and beach, friendly staff, beautiful view. Really loved the colorscheme of the room, it was fresh, stylish and very relaxing.
A/C was also a great amenity considering the hot summer weather in Greece, and the room was a nice stop to relax and cool yourself down.
Daily cleaning was also great, considering that we even stayed for only 2 days. Was nice to always find a fresh set of sheets and everything in order.
Amazing staff. Demetria (not sure the spelling) was incredible. She made the place feel more like a home than a hotel. The other staff were great also.
The restaurant was phenomenal. The food was very good. The cocktails were amazing. The view was unbeatable.
Location was great, just up from the ferry stop.
The room was clean and well appointed. It had a beautiful balcony.
It’s a magical place.
This hotel probably has the best location in Loutro, up on the mountainside and with sweeping views east across the bay. The broad, sheltered terrace is a beautiful place to enjoy breakfast or an evening cocktail. The furnishings are tasteful and of high quality. The restaurants and beach of Loutro are just minutes away.
Was pleasantly surprised (considering quite low ratings, I was expecting something more basic) at this very nice, large, modernly furnished room (perhaps recently renovated) with a stunning view around the Loutro Bay. Clean, good shower, toiletries provided, comfortable mattress and pillows.
The hotel proprietors were incredibly earnest and wanted to make sure we had a nice stay. The food was delicious and the stars at night were amazing. It is very peaceful because it is rather remote which is a double edged sword. I would recommend staying longer than one night like we did.
The location is perfect- it's the first hotel you get to when you get off from the ferry. The bar/restaurant is so inviting with it unique and quaint decor. The hosts were wonderful to talk to and so accommodating. Will definitely stay here again when we go back to Loutro
Everything was good. The hotel is located in the center of Loutro. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff is really nice and very kind. I really recommend to spend at least a night in Loutro and I suggest this hotel because it is the best rate value/money.
Wonderful location, outstanding staff, comfortable but not luxurious accommodations, and, of course, lovely hostess Christina spent some time with us to actually get to know us in the short time we were there. We will always remember Christina and Loutro!
We loved the Sifis Hotel. Our balcony overlooking the turquoise clear Mediterranean sea was amazing! We enjoyed a lovely breakfast every morning. Our favorite part was the owner Christina who is unbelievably kind, generous and lovely! Thank you again!
The hotel is amazing. Its clean, comfy, quiet, ideal for couples or a family. its only a minute walk to the beach. Ask Antreas (your host) to arrange for you Beach front chairs in Loutro and small boat trips to other nearby beaches!
Wonderful location with view on beautiful sea of Loutro!!!50 meters from arrival/departure boats from/to Sfakia and in front of the taxi boats. Very rich breakfast while enjoying Coco's discussions😀😀😀...Coco is a parot.
The hotel is very Central in the town, with a supermarket directly below and our favorite restaurant (Stratis) a few steps away. We loved the hotel management / hosts, who were very friendly.
Nice solution for a budget stay in Loutro. The rooms are small, but guests enjoy a beautiful common terrace. Sofia is very helpful for any need (coffee machine, hair dryer, just ask her).
Clean room with a kettle, tea and coffee. There is a nice view from the rooftop terrace. Good location, although Loutro is tiny so any hotel in the town is a good location.
Fantastic location with a great view over the bay of Loutro. Was upgraded to a room with seaview which had a huge terrace to relax on. Staff is friendly and supportive.
The location with a great view on the bay. Of course, many other hotels have the same view just with different perspective. Also nice the breakfast options.
