Fantastic location just a short walk from the harbour. It was basic but super clean and comfortable. We hired bedding and towels as advised on the rebooking info.

the location is fantastic with uninterrupted fjord views even when a cruise ship is in Flam. Great food in the restaurant for dinner. We liked the living area with a balcony, really nice and the board walk for an easy and very pleasant walk to Flam is great.

Parking right in front of the hotel. The room was amazing and we even got upgraded to a room with balcony which was lovely. The staff was very nice and polite. Despite the dinner menu not having many options the venison burger was phenomenal, and the included breakfast had plenty of options too. The bed were comfy and shower amazing, both shampoo/shower gel and conditioner were available.
Overlooking the Aurlandsfjord, this charming inn is 400 metres from Flåm Train Station. It offers a peaceful garden, a lounge and a breakfast room with fjord views.

A spectatular setting where you can just relax and soak up the magnificent scenery. Fire pits to keep you warm while you sit outside (with a drink). The staff were extremely friendly. Right next to jetty where you can pick up the fabulous, all electric, boat to Flam (which is also just a 15 minute car journey away). The Viking Village is a 3 minute walk away and well worth visiting - something we nearly dismissed but really pleased we didn't! Menu a little limited for those staying more than a few day but the food we did order was excellent. A unique and wonderful end to our dream holiday!

Nicely renovated comfortable no frills hotel in a quiet location, out of season. A shuttle bus or ferry made the journey into Flam easy.
The breakfast was buffet style, good choice of mixed cold meats and cheeses. The evening meals were disappointing, and expensive as you expect in Norway. Having said that if you are only staying a couple of days a good stop over hotel.

Location was the most + point of our stay.
Location was the most + point of our stay. Fjord was just a stones throw away. Other points and places were a drive distance and flam was reachable both via ferry and shuttle.
Food for vegetarians is a little problematic in hotel as the buffet served has less options for veggies. There is Shell fuel pump and Xtra store that has some quick foods.

Gudvangen offers a ton of scenery and not much else.
Gudvangen offers a ton of scenery and not much else. Our overnight stay was more than enough time to enjoy a dinner at the only place in town, a brief hike to the WWII bunkers the following morning and time at the Njardarheimr Viking Village for a few hours until our bus left for Voss in the afternoon. Everything is within walking distance.

We enjoyed the Viking Village at Gudvangen, and the view of the mountains and waterfalls was superb. We were able to purchase food items at the nearby Joker gas station, which was well-stocked with ready made/easily prepared foods. We didn't get to do the kayaking available there, but that would have added a bonus. A very nice town!
Loved everything about it!
Very comfortable and exceptional location! we visited Flåm and much preferred the remoteness of Gudvangen, would absolutely stay here again. The bed was comfy and the small kitchen well equipped (the “Joker” shop at the petrol station 3 minute walk away is very well stocked with everything you could need for self catering).
The breakfast was delicious, varied and very plentiful. Can’t wait to return one day.
Location, location, location. Fantastic views on the mountains with views on 5+ waterfall’s and more if it has been raining, the camping grounds are spacious with a lot of grass, playing fields and the site is near the ferry to Kaupanger and the Flåm-railway. Very nice staff and a little cafe with a camp fire for guests.
Facilities were excellent and clean. The chalet has a covered porch for dining al fresco.
Stayed in a shed or wooden cabin and costed 3100 Nork for 1 night.
Breakfast was poor quality with toaster and waffle machine broken.
No fruits or pastries
Fresh food limited.
No decaf coffee.
Hotel was marked as 8.5 rated which is disappointing.
Staff had no knowledge of the location and could not guide us and said we can check internet for bus to Vos.
I can't speak exactly for the budget hotel facilities because we were upgraded for free to the fjordhotell down the street (same owner). It was so nice, the room had a sky light you could see stars at night, from bed. All of the staff were so incredibly kind and the view all around were stunning!
The hotel is amazing! The facilities are great: nice towel and linen, amazing food from the restaurant, and the astonishing view of the fjords. But the best part of the hotel was the people, they were super friendly, nice and made us feel super comfortable.
What we love most about Gudvangen Fjordtell is its beautiful environment. The room was also very clean and functional. The best thing is that we also have the help of a good quality dryer and washing machine. It helped us solve a big problem in travel
Nothing fancy but very clean and
Friendly accommodating staff. Location was perfect for the ferry. Restaurants nearby as well as a small market. The setting in this little valley was beautiful. For what we wanted the price was right.
This hotel is all about location. Gudvangen is tiny. The hotel is close to the ferry. Unless you have one of their Viking-themed rooms, you are in a very quiet place. Loved being by the river, having a view of the mountain and waterfall.
I booked for the Gudvangen Budget Hotel but upon arrival, I was given the viking theme room, which is good to get a free upgrade. The room is centrally located, with heated bathroom and have basic amenities such as kettle, coffee etc.
The hotel is set on the edge of the fjord with lovely views. The rooms are large enough and quite comfortable. It was a scenic and easy drive back to Bergen. Breakfast was quite decent. The wifi worked well.
Upgraded us to Gudvangen Hotel which was really lovely. Room was great with many interesting features. Loved the sod roof and the glass part of the roof with a view of mountains Waterfall and night sky
Very pleasant hotel, and it was great to stay the night in Gudvangen after taking the ferry from Flam, and enjoy the amazing scenery. We also enjoyed our meals at the sister hotel at the water's edge.
The location of the hotel was perfect! Just a few steps away from the Viking Village and the fjord. And Flam was 20 minutes away by car.
There were plenty of free parking spaces around the hotel.
An amazing location. This is the only hotel to stay at in this fjord so we really didn’t expect too much but the team were so friendly, the food superb and the views stunning.
The view is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is cozy, clean and new. The price is reasonable. The supermarket and gas station is nearby. Highly recommend.
The room was really nice with the view of the waterfall and the mountains afar. Also the decorations of both the hotel reception and rooms was nicely done.
