Very large house, pictures didn't do it justice. Great facilities for cooking and washing clothes. Great value as well.
Lovely private outdoor area to relax. Not far from Porto moniz for the pools, and a nice bar down the road for the best poncha in Madeira and close to the levada walk

The accomodation was amazing with a great location - in the middle of the countryside, super quiet. The apartment had everything we needed, the owner pays attention to the detail and was very friendly. Wish we stayed more days there.

Loved the sea pools, with cafe for after swim drinks. and the peaceful evening walks. Easy to catch a bus further afield. Harder to get to levada walks than I expected, and I would avoid the ones that come back down steep hills to coast - rough and dangerous surfaces

This is not a sand beach vacation.
This is not a sand beach vacation. There are tidal pools to swim in if the weather cooperates. Be aware that the north side of the island is cooler and more likely to rain. We enjoyed our 2 night stay by the ocean but that was enough

Very good base to explore north-west side of the island
Very good base to explore north-west side of the island
Nice option if you want to cool down in the pool-there are actually 2 spots with ocean water, one more natural than the other, both can have better tourism services and catering options

A beautiful little town with the most beautiful swimming in Madeira in natural pools with sea water and sea fish. Protected from the waves and great for bathing and swimming, in a beautiful wild nature surrounded by rocks. Everything is close by car, the most beautiful levadas, the Fanal forest. Really spend more days.

We were driving around Madeira Island for 8 days & Porto Moniz was 1 of the most scenic area, beautiful rocky formations with the natural pools. We only stayed overnight, but wished we could have spent more time here, experience swimming the natural pools. Beautiful instamagramable picturisque views. We highly recommend Porto Moniz.

Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira.
Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira.
the ocean view is amazing.
The city has both natural and paid natural pools, where the only option is to swim.
if you are a fish lover, there are really many good restaurants in this city.
for us, the tastiest fish was Espada.
It is also a great place to visit the Fanal forest, the Telegrafico gondola and the Rabacal area.
for us, who are fans of bends, steep roads, beautiful nature and of course the sea, this part of the island was the most beautiful.
Really great hotel with superb staff, facilities, restaurant and location. It is a complete package, everything here is above Madeira's average standard. Nicely designed room, well equipped and very comfortable. You will get a good welcome drink from Madeira wine and on top of that also pleasant surprise is a bottle of sparkling wine in the room. Fantastic breakfast with plenty to choose from. There is a stunning rooftop pool area with sunbeds and bar. Very convenient location close to natural pools. Totally recommend.
The tenants are very comprehensive. I was stuck at
Madeira for 2 days during a correspondence and had almost no
money and no one there. They took me from the airport
and made my stay a real dream : they took me to beautiful
places, gave me food and everything almost for free.
The place is not like a fancy hotel but if you are looking to
experience REAL Madeira, this place is perfect for you.
That know all the places that tourists don’t know and they are kind
That literally saved me from the nightmare I was living.
The location of the hotel is fantastic - just above the natural swimming pools. The views from the rooms are stunning - overlooking the natural pools to the east, over the ocean to the north and down the coast to the west. The rooms are quite large and recently renovated. The sound insulation is great - very little hallway noise enters the room. The beds were the best I've ever slept in, I would trade my own bed for one of theirs. The wifi was extremely fast - no kiddie complaints about lagging.
This was the definetly the best stay of our Madeira trip (out of 3 accomodations). The hosting family made us feel like at home and even gave us a ride to one of the levadas! It was also great talking to them about life on Madeira. There is nothing I would change about the apartment we got, it had all that we needed. Porto Moniz is an amazing and quiet village and if you want to have a really pleasurable stay, Costa Azul is a great choice.
The hotel is run by a family. It's nice and cosy, clean, bathroom of good size, and we had a balcony overlooking the sea. It is 2-3 minutes walking to the free (old) natural pools, and around 5 minutes walking to the new (paid) ones. You are right on the main street with restaurants and Christmas lights in Porto Moniz. Breakfast was good, although a bit inconvenient that they only served it from 9 to 10 - but we planned around that!
Wonderful house, well designed and furnished with everything needed for a week-long stay. The location was perfect—close enough to Porto Moniz amenities but still very quiet and relaxing. We really appreciated the opportunity to explore a different side of the island, having previously stayed mostly in the south. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again when back in Madeira.
Awesome location right in front of the aquarium and natural pools in Porto Moniz. The views from the rooftop are spectacular, and the infinity pool and cabanas are the best place to enjoy your stay. But the best part is the service — from the wonderful reception, the little gifts they provided guests, the waitstaff at their restaurant… Worth the drive out from Funchal!
First of all, we liked to city itself, Porto Moniz is absolutely amazing! Hotel has perfect location, however, there are no view (at least in two rooms, in which we have stayed). Facilities are very basic, price is attractive, rooms are clean and spacy. Parking is available.
All the necessary stuff to be back there again.
big space
location
washing machine
sweet cookies gift from owner
beautiful view
parking next to the house
absolute 100% dark in the bedroom
small kitchen
smart tv with netflix is cool when it's heavy rain outside
We were at four different apartments/ hotels and this is the N1! Worth for the money.
The location is excellent. 25 m distance to Porto Moniz Natural Pools and the ocean. We kept windows open in order to enjoy the ocean sounds during the night.
There is pay-based parking close to the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and made an effort to accommodate special dietary restrictions.
The hotel is absolutely perfect, beautifully decorated, the room we had was an amazing suite, we got the use of the pool, there was a lovely breakfast and we had drinks in the evening at the terrace bar. The staff went above and beyond to help with a smile on their face. We highly recommend it!
Very clean and cosy apartment with a nice terrace where you can just sit and watch the environment. It has a good location in Porto Moniz near the beach, shops and restaurants. We would like to stay here one more time. The communication with the host was also great.
modern room with a big clean bathroom. quite hotel and the area, we did not hear any noise. beach towels provided. parking garage. refill water cooler free of charge. free entrance to the natural pools and some more paces that are part of this hotel group.
Best place to stay in Porto Moniz. It’s a newly built apartment facility added to the hotel chain in July this year and you can tell. Everything looks new, it’s well designed and very comfortable. Breakfast was also excellent.
The staffs are friendly and the location is amazing. The apartment is located super closed to beautiful natural swimming pool Porto Moniz (2 mins walk) and many many nice restaurants, groceries. Atmosphere is great!
Great location. It was more than we expected.
Everything close by - swimming pools and market.
It was very good choice. We wish owner to put more pictures from balcony- view of the ocean is amazing!
Great location. Easy access to everything you would need in Porto Moniz. Nice garden patio. Super cute decor. TV with Netflix in case of those endless rainy days:)
