The hotel is set within beautiful gardens and vineyards just a few hundred metres from the centre of Franschhoek. The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. I was met by the owner of the property upon check in, Basil Cary, who is a fantastic host and a great source of local information in relation to restaurant and wine tasting recommendations. I stayed for seven nights and can highly recommend the Cape Vue Country House. My room was very comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. Breakfast was absolutely top notch and all of Basil’s team were very friendly and professional. This is a gem of a hotel.

Really great service from arrival to departure! Special thanks to both Martha and Malusi - who are always there when needed. We let Martha know that we were planning on staying in one evening and having a cheese and wine night. Without asking - Martha went ahead and set up the dining room for us with everything needed and Malusi had the fire roaring for us! Outstanding!!

The first thing that struck us was the breathtaking view of the Cape Town mountain range and the sprawling farm surrounding the property. It was a picture-perfect scene that instantly soothed the soul. Our room was cozy and meticulously decorated, with every detail carefully thought out to ensure comfort and relaxation. But the real highlight of our stay was the breakfast. Oh, what a breakfast it was! The English breakfast served was nothing short of spectacular, with each element cooked to perfection. The eggs were fluffy, the bacon crisp, and the sausages bursting with flavor. And let's not forget the omelette - a culinary masterpiece that left us craving for more, its called the “special order” as their little help Cindy would say. But it wasn't just the food that made our mornings special; it was also the ambiance in which it was served. We dined al fresco on the patio, basking in the morning sunlight and soaking in the panoramic views of the mountains and the farm below. It was a truly magical experience that made each mealtime a memorable affair. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the gracious hospitality of our hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness throughout our stay. From recommending the best local attractions to sharing stories about life on the farm, they made us feel like cherished friends rather than mere guests. In conclusion, our time at the Chambray Estate - The Terraces in the Vines Bed and Breakfast was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of exceptional food, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality made it a stay we'll cherish for years to come.
