Le Boulay-Morin
Situated in Le Boulay-Morin, 7.7 km from Le CADRAN, Château du Boulay Morin features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden. Among the various facilities of this property are a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, a business centre and luggage storage for guests. On a recent trip from Cancale to Paris, we found ourselves in need of a place to rest after a long day of hiking and indulging in Cancale's famous oysters. It was late, and options for high-rated accommodations were few. However, we came across CHATEAU DU BOULAY MORIN, an old French-style chateau just a few kilometers from the highway, listed on Booking.com. The chateau is located in a serene rural area, tucked behind a long stone fence and vintage-style gates. We arrived late without prior notification, and with our internet data exhausted, we were anxious about whether the staff would still be available to check us in. To our relief, the gates swung open at the press of a button, welcoming us into a silent and magical retreat. The property is nestled within roughly 40 hectares of well-maintained forest and 3 hectares of beautifully manicured gardens. The quiet ambiance, paired with the charm of the chateau's exterior, immediately gave us a sense of calm and tranquility. We were warmly greeted by a receptionist who, despite our late arrival, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He even managed to arrange some food for us, knowing that we had missed our dinner. The interior of the chateau exudes a cozy, if somewhat outdated, charm, reminding more of a family home than a typical hotel, adding to the unique experience. In the morning, we learned that the property is managed by the young children of the owners. The elder, a former lawyer, shared the captivating history of the chateau and their family as they served us a delicious breakfast. The personal touch and stories made us feel like we were guests in a family home rather than customers in a hotel, giving our stay an intimate and friendly atmosphere. This quaint chateau may not boast the glitz and glamour of a typical 4 or 5-star hotel, but it offers a uniquely charming experience that leaves an indelible mark on your memory.

The Chateau Saint Gilles is a wonderful place to stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, as well as the surroundings. It’s peaceful and quiet but also a 5min drive into town. The staff is lovely and always available to help. The restaurant was delicious as well!
Large room, quiet and peaceful, lovely hosts, welcome bottle of rose cider but probably the biggest like is the uniqness of staying in a real 16th century chateau.
Very quaint countryside. Breakfast was excellent! Quiet and peaceful.
We wanted a quiet place to stop not too far from coming off the ferry at Caen - and the I'Ile de Sees was perfect for this. Quiet, peaceful spot in the countryside with a lovely walk to the local village. An attractive former farmhouse building with a sunny terrace; a friendly welcome and a fabulous restaurant. You must book for dinner, it is not to be missed. We also enjoyed a lovely glass of Normandy cider from the bar as an aperitif. The breakfast was a good value too. There was plenty of free on site parking.
Nice countryside location close to Mont St Michel and not far from Saint Malo. We spent two nights in this peaceful, quiet and relaxing area. Our grand floor room was clean and comfortable, with its private bathroom and a garden view terrace. The host, Nadine, was nice and friendly. She served very good breakfasts for us, with some homemade food products. Free parking on site.
The setting for the rooms is idyllic, quiet and peaceful, with beautiful surroundings. So much thought and detail has gone into making the rooms luxurious and comfortable and the owners were so welcoming and hospitable. We wish that we’d booked several nights!
Luxury Country house atmosphere in the heart of a very popular historic port town. Quiet, beautiful surroundings, welcoming and attentive staff, free parking on-site (just leave car and a very short walk to all local restaurants), swimming pool, cleanliness, general ambience.
The chateau itself is a wonderful original period build of 1845 and full of character. Room with ensuite was large, clean, comfortable, and with a great garden view. Breakfast had a multiple choice and good coffee. Location is totally French countryside and quiet yet convenient for major road access. The owner Pierre could not have been more helpful, or interesting to talk with over the chateau and area history. His English was excellent, but was sympathetic about my French attempts at communicating.
