Charming small town.
Charming small town. Known for wines and Argentinian-style steaks. Many companies offer Winery tours. In our experience (three times) those are designed to drink lots of table wine, but no quality wines. If you really want to taste good wines, arrange to visit any (or all) of the four largest wineries (Aranjuez, Kolberg, Campos de Solana, and La Concepcion) and ask to taste their best wines. You will be surprised how good they are. Don't be afraid to spend a little more. Still a bargain for foreign travelers. You will be disappointed if you take any of the widely publicized "Ruta del Vino" tours, except for the scenery in the cramped vans.

The breakfast was lovely & the hosts could not have been more helpful;) They gave us tips about the area and our onward travels around Bolivia… even helped us find the right bus & time plus ordered a taxi for us. The ice cream shop is probably the best in the city. The Casona Gloria has an added historic value being the place where the great poet Roberto Echazú was born.
