Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering 2 countries – Austria and Hungary, all watered by the beautiful River Danube. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with an UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself contains a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Opposite is St Martin’s Cathedral, coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s speciality is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-coloured buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.
It is a hidden treasure yet to be popularised. The only challenge is the language. The Taxi drivers, shopkeepers & others dealing with tourists must be able to speak & understand at least basic English. Especially the Bolt drivers. They need to be given training in etiquette and English.

Bratislava is a large small town in many ways, and a small large city in others. More cafe's than we could shake a stick at, and that's just in the neighborhood we stayed in. The city is beautiful, an the ground transportation (trams and busses) is comprehensive. The people were smiling and helpful.
I want to go back to see the rest of it.

Bratislava is a lovely city and one I would visit again.
Bratislava is a lovely city and one I would visit again. The streets are wide and clean and it is much quieter than London considering the population is not big. It is a good base to stay and travel to other cities like Vienna which we did.

The history of this country is amazing, we did the walking tour and very informative and good stories.
We enjoyed the beautiful buildings, Churches, Restaurants and tours
We visited Vienna and Budapest also as we stayed 8 nights in total.
In Budapest we were free on public transport as we were over 65, nice one!
This is a great budget hotel option for exploring Bratislava. We stayed in a double room with terrace. The room was spacious, light and airy. The large bed was comfortable but we did have to request extra pillows. The view from the terrace was wonderful and would be lovely in the warmer months to sit out and enjoy the sunset.
There is quite a lot of refurbishment going on in the hotel but we weren't disturbed by this during our stay.
The location is excellent, with a very short walk to the old town, bars & restaurants.
The room was very spacious and the bathroom was large, clean and functional. The shower worked well; the shower doors kept the water in the shower, not allowing it onto the bathroom floor.
The hotel has an outdoor patio, which I liked very much.
The breakfast, although pricey, included a wide variety of foods.
The staff was very nice and offered me all the supplies I asked for.
The hotel is well-located, close the Bratislava Castle and Old Town.
Hotel is located in the old town short walk from the historic centre. Rooms were clean and spacious. There aren't any facilities to sing and dance about. Local taxi company Bolt is able to access the property and arrange airport transfers. There is no allocated parking, no immediate public transport stop but within 30 mins walking distance you will find yourself in the old city centre with plenty of restaurants and bars.
The location of this hotel is superb right in the heart of Bratislava old town. The building is stunning and our superior rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast offered great choice and was well worth it. A highlight of our stay were the staff and service of the Mirror bar. I’d also like to thank the receptionist who delivered a complimentary bottle of wine to our room for my birthday.
The apartment is located in a very good area in the Old Town, in the center of Bratislava. It was very clean and nicely organized. The internet speed was sufficient. In the evening, the front gate is locked, so your vehicle is secure. Parking is free, which is a big plus, especially in such a location in Bratislava. Check-out is possible until 11:00 AM, which is excellent. The host was pleasant.
Great hostel in Bratislava Old Town. Set on a hill. Room was good size with 3 single beds split across 2 areas plus ensuite bathroom which was dated but clean and fully functional.
Great access with keycode/fob entry. Felt safe at all times. Nice airy communal areas. Good little shops and mini supermarket nearby. Pleasant 5-10 minute walk into city centre. Close to old city walls and castle.
A beautiful hotel, our room was basically two floors, as we took a triple occupancy one. Very very spacious room, and looks very historical and beautiful. super central in the old town and very close to all monuments by walking! For a boutique place, this is a highly recommended place. Simple breakfast, like every other boutique hotel, but nice enough. Fairly priced place.
Excellent location, just a few steps from the city center (old town) where you can do everything on foot. The room is offered with high quality furniture (5 stars for the REAL king size bed 2 x 2 meters). The hotel has an outstanding bar/restaurant and they produce their own beer, as well as there is another bar option with an extensive wine list. Would stay there again.
Apartment is fully equipped with anything needed and close to any shop needed. Apartment is close to city centre and old town. Restaurants, groceries, pharmacies are close by and everything is walking distance. Super clean apartment and super fast internet.
Thank you so much for your hospitality
The location of this hotel for a short stay in Bratislava is unbeatable. Smack in the old town center 1min from square. Parking is in an underground garage across the street, so very convenient. Place has great historic atmosphere, everything was clean and nice, and the staff was great
The apartment is big, bright and it is located in a very good position, about 15 min on foot from the city centre. It was clean and there is everything you need. The host was very friendly and gave me all the necessary information. Absolutely recommended for your stay in Bratislava!
I would give it 5 stars. Of the 7 or 8 hotels we stayed at in Europe, Devin was the best. The breakfast was exceptional as was the staff. It is located right on the Danube a short walk to the old town. Bratislava is a hidden gem, clean and vibrant.
Bratislava is a nice place, well worth several days.
The hotel is perfectly placed on the edge of the old town and close to Donau.
It's also a very nice old style building with nicely fitted rooms.
And best of all, the personal was wonderful!
Really good option to stay in Bratislava! it's on the edge of Turistic old town, so it's super close to everything you will need! The hotel itself just great! Very clean, stuff is friendly and helpful and the room itself very comfy and nice.
The hotel is located in the center of the Old Town, home to most of the tourist attractions in Bratislava, all within a walking distance. The stuff was vey nice and the room was clean and comfortable - lots of breakfast options too
The great advantage of Crowne Plaza Bratislava is its location - across the street from the President's Palace on the edge of the Old Town.
The hotel has its own underground parking albeit charging steep rates.
The location in old town Bratislava close to great multicultural restaurants, shops, cafes, historical churches, next to the Danube river, along with a nice bar , laundry available , patio and kitchen!
Excellent location - near the city centre, near the old town, lots of places;
- It is comparatively quiet;
- The owner is a very friendly and easygoing person.
