Immortalized in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were its own city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!
The borough is connected to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It's also connected to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the northeast, Brooklyn Bridge Park has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while southeast is the huge Prospect Park.
On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighboring Queens.
At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Renovations are underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden roller coaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.
Cheap Brooklyn hotels are great alternatives to accommodations in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

We visited Brooklyn for a specific event and ended up really enjoying the vibe around the area. The area around the Barclay's Center has so many good restaurants and bars that are fun and opened even after shows are over.

Brooklyn is a very busy city.
Brooklyn is a very busy city. There are many options for activities and sightseeing. The traffic is very, very busy and the parking is almost impossible. If you know where you are going and what time you need to be there you must definitely factor in your commute.

Brooklyn is my home town, so im very familiar with how to get around. This hotel happen to be walking distance to one of my favorite bargin stores of all time.
This hotel has a bus stop right in front of it that take you express into the city. During my stay i would walk the few block to the train station and once i was done with my day in the city i would take the express bus straight to the hotel, what a luxury.
I always enjoy my time in New York !
If you know to expect a basic hotel with small rooms this hotel is perfect! It’s clean, the staff are very friendly and give you water or whatever you need, it’s a great location right by Bedford Ave in W’burg, and the beds, linen etc. are super comfortable. Plus it was so cheap for 3 nights.
there’s also a coworking area and lots of outdoor spaces, and you’re on the doorstep of some very good restaurants and cafes.
Moxy Williamsburg is our go-to whenever we are visiting NYC. The staff is so accommodating, fun, and helpful. Shawn, the manager & Lewis are especially incredible, but the whole staff is exceptional. Amy is truly a rock star! They made our birthday week the best we ever had. The rooms are very comfortable with incredible views. And, the facilities are among the best in Williamsburg. We are huge Moxy hotel chain fans!
The hotel was spotless. Staff was very kind and helpful. Beds were super comfortable and the location was excellent. It was our NY vacation with our two years old. The room was a little bit small for us but super practical and we had everything we needed. Definitely coming back and I strongly recommend it. Location is superb to talk the bus to downtown Brooklyn or the train to Manhattan
.
- Good location making it easy to explore Brooklyn or get into Manhattan
- Campbell was awesome and always welcomed everyone when they came into the hotel
- Cute lobby with art deco vibes
- Larger room than typical of NYC
- Good and strong air conditioning for hot and humid days
- 15 min walk to great shops, bars. restaurants, amazing views of the Brooklyn bridge
We were surprised how expensive New York hotels have become but we eventually found Henry Norman in Brooklyn and found it to be a real treat. The hotel offers a low cost very acceptable breakfast and although no evening restaurant, the Brooklyn area is plastered with cheap, very good takeaways which although not the Ritz were safe, fun and even quirky.
Williamsburg is my favourite bit of New York / Brooklyn so this hotel is a gem. Rooms are compact so may be a push for couples but as a Solo traveller I didn’t spend much time chilling in there. Bed is was very comfortable and room was quiet at night. The craft beer and burger bar in the foyer is pretty awesome and the staff were great.
The beds were comfirtable and smelled clean. The staff were courteous and efficient. Breakfast was great and the sitting area was spacious.
The hotel is within walking distance from the Brooklyn Bridge and my family and I felt safe walking alone after dark. The city is alive!
The hotel is in a great location, walking distance from the Brooklyn and Manhatten bridges as well as 2 good subway stops. We asked through Booking.com if we could have a room with a view and we had a room with a fantastic view of Manhatten.
Friendly staff, renovated rooms and bathrooms, large breakfast, comfortable beds. Really value for money. We also got a room on 8th floor with nice view on Brooklyn, which was our wish made to the hotel. Subway stations close by.
The hotel was ok but i was not aware that the swimming pool was for members only that was one of reason i booked i could have stayed in a better place for far cheaper at an airbnb . We were both very disappointed .
many shops in short walking distance
many restaurants in short walking distance
subway just 30m on sidewalk
lively quarter -the best in Brooklyn & near Williamsburg
great views out of front windows :)
Very cool hotel with great views of Manhattan and ideally located for all modes of transport to all your favourite parts of NYC! Oh and did I mention - Brooklyn Bowl is directly opposite the hotel!!
