The Berghotel Astenkrone in the beautiful Altastenberg offers individually and lovingly furnished rooms and a wellness area with a swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna. I visited hotel a few times. Always a very nice stay. Excellent location. Very comfortable.

This hotel features a skittle alley and free parking. It lies in the mountain village of Altastenberg, 6 km from Winterberg, and guests can use the pool and sauna free of charge. Great hotel, enthousiastic staff, even if they were short staffed due to ilness. Clean and comfortable rooms and great restaurant. Fantadtic value for money!

Housed in a traditional 19th-century building, this hotel is located directly next to the Altastenberg Ski Region. Hotel Altastenberg offers comfortable rooms in a cosy ambiance. Breakfast was good. Extremely helpful and lovely staff.

We visited with our 2 young children and it was a perfect stay. The apartment is directly across the street from the kids ski lesson area, which was so convenient for us. We were also able to rent all of our gear from the ski depot right next door. The apartment was clean and comfortable and had a great view. My kids especially loved the candy they got from the ski depot when bringing their gear back :) . We will be back!

This accommodation features free private parking, a breakfast buffet and sun terrace. It is located 4 km from Winterberg town centre. It was comfortable, the staff were super nice and helpful with everything we needed. Food was good and the room was perfect for enjoying a couple of days.

Very neat and tidy appartment. Comfortable. Location is quiet and an excellent basis for hiking. The espresso maker was an excellent addition for us coffee lovers.

This holiday home is situated in Winterberg, 300 metres from the nearest lifts of the Altastenberg ski carousel and 3 km from the bike park and toboggan track. Very nice house second to none in quality, had everything you could want in terms of equipment and amenities. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, however we did not find a can opener (but a small problem, it was solved anyway). There was coffee, tea, sugar and spices etc., everything you don't want to buy or bring extra on a trip. Comfortable beds. Accommodation has a very welcoming atmosphere - it feels as if you were living at home in your own accommodation. Very nice patio. The location is perfect and we were a little worried that since the house was close to the road, that there would be a lot of traffic and disturbing noise. But the house is well soundproofed and there wasn't much traffic at all. You slept like a baby. The area is a very quiet residential area and peaceful, which is nice because in the evenings and nights you want to sleep without being disturbed by wild parties from neighbors or nearby bars. After all, people come to Winterberg to enjoy the nature, tranquility and fresh air, to have an active and sporty holiday. Not for shopping and party. So a good night sleep is worth a lot. We were able to borrow the garage which was perfect for parking our motorbikes overnight when it rained a lot. There were two really good restaurants within a short walking distance from the house, as well as a hotel with a smaller spa facility and larger indoor pool that also accepted external guests. Which was wonderful one day when it was just pouring rain. We never met the host in person, but had a very good contact via email. Eva really was helpful and service-minded in the absolute best way. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly. This was an accommodation that we can strongly recommend, it is not only affordable but also top class in most respects. It was new, fresh, modern and well equipped as well as very good service from the owner which is important.
