Booked this hotel as it was close to the venue of a family wedding. Used the room for getting ready rather than for overnight stay but suited my needs. Hotel was very clean and accommodating, very helpful during booking and offered early check out and late check out for a small fee. Room was very clean and suited my needs, Staff were very helpful. I have no words for this stay, but I will try to find! We were given a beautiful and really big room with colonial furniture and a small balcony with garden view and a lovely rocking chair. Everything in the room was well thought of (comfortable bed, fridge with cool water, fan, air condition, base for two suitcases to rest, a very big wardrobe, a vanity table, good quality toiletries, even toothpaste and toothbrushes). The owner has very carefully selected the furniture (some belonged to his family as he shared with us) and really cares for the house (deliberately I call it house and not guest house) and for his guests. The couple who owns Hospedaria is so attentive with every little detail and always listens and tries to help with everything (tips for transport, money exchange, covid test, taxi, beaches to visit). The food offered for breakfast is based on local recipes and there is variety that satisfies all requirements and preferences (the garden is lovely for breakfast, but the dining room is also very cosy with paintings of local artists and there is even an old sewing machine made into table). Cleanliness was immaculate all over Hospedaria Abrigo de Botelho and the location is absolutely charming. Lots of restaurants, shops, churches nearby, so close to the centre, but calm during night and generally a very vibrant and colourful neighbourhood to stay.
