The lodging is in the ground floor of a carefully modernized and upgraded house in the center of Gouveia. The host was completely fluent in English and Portuguese, and answered lots of questions about the town and surrounding area. The room was large and quiet, with a large spotless bath. Breakfast was a nice selection of fresh foods.

Joana was very nice and helpful, she gave us many suggestions about places we could visit and have a nice chat with us. Everything was clean and tidy. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. The place is very quiet and we had a really peaceful and relaxing experience

The house is very well located, clean and well maintained. The staff is great at accomodating our needs.

La Casa D'Avenida è una dimora familiare recentemente ristrutturata e situata nel centro di Manteigas, nel Parco Naturale della Serra da Estrela. The room had a comfy bed and a nice little balcony with mountain view (due to very bad weather we couldn't use it, unfortunately). Downstairs there is a nice seating area with an oven which we used to get dry and warm up after some very rainy hikes. The guest house is located right at the little stream flowing through Manteigas, so restaurants and shops are right around the corner. (We recommend Infusao, just a couple of steps up the stream from the guest house.) The breakfast was amazing and very extensive, even when only us two were left at the hotel. Best thing: we could pack bread etc for lunch, tea and coffee were always available downstairs, as was the amazing home-made cake. We were looking forward to this after every hike.

It has air conditioning in the room in case of extreme heat (which we experience), and nice common spaces (several living rooms, terrace) to read, relax, play... It is located close to the center of Manteigas and yet in a very quite neighbourhood. The owner is very nice and very dedicated to the comfort of her guests. Highly recommended.

Casa do Tio Plácido, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Valezim, 24 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela, 46 km from Mangualde Live Artificial Beach, as well as 43 km from Manteigas Hot... Very clean and not dated, kitchen was really cute and had everything we needed and all clean. Very rustic but not old/smelly/dated decoration, everything felt comfortable. Totally recommend it! Situated in Covilhã, 18 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela and 20 km from Belmonte Calvário Chapel, Porta 25 Guesthouse offers a terrace and air conditioning. Quiet location, very well equipped kitchen. Catarina picked us up from the bus station and responded promptly to messages.
