In addition to striving to offer the best value for private room accommodation in Banff, YWCA Banff is a social enterprise hotel. This means that by booking a stay with us, guests are investing their vacation dollars into social services that empower local women and their communities for a better future.

The Banff YWCA exceeded my expectations. I stayed for 2 weeks as a solo traveller. For me, a luxury hotel is not important as I prefer to be out exploring and just needed a place to lay my head that was budget friendly. The room was very basic but clean and comfy. There’s a full size fridge and microwave for guests to use in lobby, ice machine and Coinamatic laundry facilities. The location is perfect, right beside the river and just a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to downtown. Staff was excellent as well.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

The locations was great, very good value for money. I was just using the hostel as a base while visiting a friend in Banff. The staff and other residents were all really nice and I appreciated the company and chats. Wifi worked well, bed was fine and room was clean. I didn't use the showers as went to friends place for a shower. A very safe place to be and didn't worry about my belonging going missing. Stored my skis and boots all stay with no problems.

There are a lot of travellers in this Hostel, so it is very easy to meet other people. The beaver bar has a great selection of daily food in the evening so you can meet people there for dinner. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have a bathroom just for our room.

My daughter and her friend have been staying since November. It was initially recommended to me, as a a great place to stay if you're new to Banff, as the atmosphere is both welcoming and friendly. Its not the cheapest hostel but the staff are great, the location is excellent and they both feel comfortable and safe.

The hostel beds were fine. The bathroom was big and enough toiletries were present. the location was the best attribute of this hostel as it was close to a lot of attractions such as canoeing etc. It had a good hotel just below the hostel and was a good/ cheap place for a quick drink or eat.

Great location, easy to walk to everything. Hostel has a restaurant and bar inside with pretty good deals on various items throughout the week. Also has a kitchen where you can cook your own meals. Rooms come with small half sized lockers (bring your own lock).

Big private rooms, remembers in a motel. Good location. Comfortable for a hostel and much cheaper than a hotel. Banff is expensive. I recommend this one.

The staff was actually so nice for the check in and check out. The hostel is pretty old so the shower are not great, but they are actually improving the place! No more carpet as there was a couple of months ago. I really appreciate that they are slowly making the place better (PS: curtains would be awesome next :P ). Great location in the city!!
