great location, lovely staff, good facilities e.g kitchen, washing, storage etc. I really liked the vibe at this hostel. It’s too big, and everyone was friendly. Really great location only a few minutes walk from the beach and Main Street in Airlie, with a liquor store just opposite and a Cole’s only a few minutes walk away. Wifi and Air con were also good and working! Easy to store luggage if going on a Whitsundays tour and returning, too.

The hostel is in a great location in Airlie Beach. It is also very clean and the staff are friendly. It is quiet at nighttime.

Super clean shared kitchen!! Have stayed in many hostels/budget accommodation and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the kitchen and the utensils/pans. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Another plus is that parking was free (unlike some other accommodation in the area) and the location is excellent with well-kept grounds. Would definitely stay again.

Backpackers by the bay has been excellent as always. Super convenient late check-in and early checkout as we were going on a sailing trip. The Cruise Whitsundays marina is right across the street, it’s the perfect place to stay if you booked with them. The bed was made with love, extra cushions and rolled towels, more than you expect in a hostel! The staff is super friendly and welcoming.

Its cheap and in a great location, doesn't pretend to be 5 star highly recommended if on a budget. Staff are fantastic
